I am always impressed with the items you pick up. Keep up the great work, and happy to hear the Kenneth Reece crossover. I have seen all of his videos and comment with him as well. Always following along.
Always look forward to your new addition videos JonBoy. You’ve got some great items for this one. That 1907 bayonet is in really good shape, and for a great price. I’ve never read The Rifle books, I’ll have to look into those. The uniforms are awesome! Something interesting to me with the last uniform was the name in it. Colburn is my Grandpa’s last name. He was in WW2, 738th medium track battalion. I have his Ike jacket along with many other military items he brought back from Europe. He’s what got me collecting military. Anyway, love the video and keep up the good work. 🇺🇸🪖🇺🇸🪖🇺🇸🪖
the medical uniform would be a corpman not dr. not an officer. best and easiest way i found when i was selling enfields and their bayonets to clean the grease off is to lay them on my deck in the bright sunlight on newspaper and let the sun heat them up and it will literally melt it off. them just spray a little wd40 on them and clean as a whistle.
4:54 that very interesting. his american campaign medal has 4 battle stars. i wonder what all he was involved in. kiska and attu are 2 that i can think of. not sure what the other 2 could be. doctors were always officer ranks as it required so many years of collage for their degree. your guy couldve been an orderly, nurse, or medic, or even just a clerk lol. to try and bring up the ink try taking a still pic with your phone and playing with the settings; brightness, exposure, contrast etc. sometimes it works, sometimes not. great bunch of uniforms!
I’m about to buy a ton of ww2 is field gear for my 2nd lieutenant battle of the bulge impression! Why so specific?, I want to show others what my great grandpa would have worn during the battle.
Forty Year Archivist, and Former Living History... I appreciate "Young Collectors" ... It's good that you're staying with named uniforms, because everything else is just surplus to me. I started many relationships with Vets and ended up cleaning their estates out. At the time of my divorce in 2016 I walked away with four 10 x 20 buildings full of Military Items. I emptied the last building this year and now everything is on property in wood buildings. My advice is to stay with the US and not to branch out if you can help it.
