Lol thats funny!!!!! I am glad he is supposedly helping aew across the board. He shown he wasnt capable of handling being a constant big time draw in the wwe. Not that i am a wwe fan either. He is a niche wrestler with a faithful fan base. But he is not a casual fan draw...wwe built on larger than life characters which mean its overhead is huge. This man and his base not enuff to push the needle for wwe on a long run....i believe aew structured where he can make them a nice amount of money for a couple years hopefully they will have made a star or two by then......

I have been a CM Punk fan since his WWE days. But one thing that little bit shocks me is that how can he say that his time in WWE was wasted? 1) He was 2 time MITB winner. 2) Was one of the longest reigning champ in history. 3) Delivered that infamous pipebomb promo 4) Had great feud with John Cena And to be honest, that pipebomb promo was the biggest reason that put him over with the crowd, believe it or not. Before that promo, he was just there thats it. If that pipebomb was not delivered, he would have never been this relevant today.

I kind of totally see what he’s saying when he says I’m the doing my best work and the best of me is going on right now. Cuz this slash year has been punk doing what punk wants while also doing what he can for the other guys surrounding him. While at wwe he was great up til his end when he became unhappy and fell out of love cuz while there in wwe he was doing what he was told to do rather than being asked what would you like to do and have very little input on himself in wwe. I think seeing him loving it and enjoying it just makes it that much better for all of us cuz we can be happy watching cuz most of them are all happy there doing it for us.

I’ve always been a big fan of Punk, but to say the entire 10 years in WWE was a waste seems a bit much. If we completely removed those 10 years I just don’t think he would be as big of a deal as he is now. There would never have been a pipe bomb or any of the classics he had with Cena or anybody else. I personally like AEW much more than WWE, but I think WWE deserves at least a little bit of credit for making CM Punk such a success just like Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley. Would love for Punk to be able to do exactly what he said in this interview and move on so he can let go of the past and embrace the opportunity he has in front of him now to build up younger talent and have some amazing matches as AEW champion.

Exactly. I know we all complain a lot about WWE and their creative is def pretty questionable at times, but they build a platform for these guys to have amazing careers. It seems kinda ungrateful to completely trash them when they helped make someone who they are.
