Gankutsuou! It’s super slept on but really, really interesting. It’s complicated, dark and meaty so maybe doesn’t belong in your stressful slot but I think you’d really enjoy it! Princess Tutu is great fun and I do recommend it but the main connection with Utena is that it’s a story about stories (through ballet rather than theater/fairy tale) - it’s nowhere near as dark or nuanced. I think you’d enjoy it but it’s not quite on Utena’s level. You’d end up learning a lot about ballet though! It’s mostly much lighter but you would probably end up doing a fair bit of yap while looking up ballet and composers on Wikipedia! Definitely don’t forget the Utena movie while you’re planning. Over the Garden Wall is a delight - and short. The whole series is basically the length of a movie. It would make a nice Spooky Month viewing if you’d like to do something a bit different! The autumn vibes are on point and there are some fun nods to historical art and animation.
