NOTE TO SELF: New AOE4 English King Build Order Guide (Season 7) 7 on Food 3 on Gold (200g) -> Move to Stone (350stone) -> Rally on food Age up with 4 vills: Kings Abby Keep total: 4 on Food 3-5 on Stone (350 stone) -> then to wood Rally to wood (400 wood) Place TC to defend resources gold and extra (leave space for farms) Villagers: Wood 8-10 Gold 6-7 Rally 2xTC on Food -> ASAP: When you get wood build Mills and Farms -> Get wheelbarrow -> Harass with King (dont lose it!) -> Age up ASAP: White Tower (Defend farms and gold+resource) PRODUCE WITH WHITE TOWER: Options: *Harass: Knights (preferre) *Defend base: Men-at-Arms *Other Strategy -> Get ECO upgrades -> Get Monestary for Relics Over time add more farms and production buildings. Men-at-arms + Crossbows combo is a good combo (or other counter for what you scouted) --> NOT VERY GOOD TO BUILD LONG BOWS
I just started playing after 6-7 months. I played only a little back then too, only english around plat. Now I m playing as a gold player and this guide helped me win so much because my opponents are doing this build against me in English mirror and i am winning with the good ol' longbow rush

if you hotkey the white tower first and then hotkey all other production units after that, you can just produce every unit under one hotkey. The game will show white tower first and you can click every unit from there
The problem is that clicking to produce units is less efficient for APM than using hotkeys. Ideally you only use the mouse to move units, never to click buttons
@abhishekab1 yeah but no civ has all landmarks be this strong. Council Hall is fantastic, now so is Abbey of Kings. Then you choose: free keep acting as TC or a stand in for any combination of 2 unit production buildings at a time. Then you can make the best keep in the game, also with free production...
@@stysner4580 Saying Berkshire is the best keep is kinda of a stretch, it has good range but the damage dealt is pretty meh. It also gets mowed down pretty easily with rams. I'd argue Red Palace is probably the strongest one, then probably Spasskaya and after that Elzbach/Berkshire.
Council hall is good feudal but falls of really hard later bc it's basically 2 archery ranges, abbey falls of hard as well, the white tower is good in castle and somewhat decent later, also works as free workshop which is good, the other castle age is just tc, nothing more, Berkshire is actually very good I think and wynguard is one of the worst landmark in the game so overall imo they are just decent but far from being so much better than almost any other civs
I have a very optimal 2TC with English You open 6/0/2/0 (food/wood/gold/stone) until 9/0/2/0 -> Age up with 2 gold vil -> move 5 food vil to stone -> RP to wood Your vils look like 4/0/0/5 Then you RP with wood until 8 on straggler trees. If you can micro manage 3 vils on food is enough. So 3/8/0/5 -> rally everyone into food The second TC comes up at 4:45-4:50. following this order
Well, with your build you really don t need Abbey. If you are aging up with 2, you won't harass with early king. Then instead, you can go Council Hall with your build. or might as well do the Drongo 1 year old 2 TC build with English. Your build is quite similar to that built actually. This new Abbey meta works with at least 4 vills on LM, so you can get value out of early king.
@@abhishekab1 The value in the King resides in not going naked castle, it is very hard to kill a single vil with the king since you need to three hit. I don't know what your rank is but above diamond having a king 20/25 sec earlier doesn't matter since 99% opponents rush a tower on gold once they see abbey
@@MN-mf2bf I beg to differ. I feel that the value of the free King is actually more in naked castle, behind 2TC especially against Boom Civs. First of all, difference between 2 vs 4 vils on Dark age LM is 48 secs and not 20-25 secs. This is huge for early game harrass. Also, the point of early harrass with lone king is not necessarily to kill villagers (its a bonus no doubt), but to disrupt opponent build order & delay their build. There s a very nice game of drongo where he uses many vills to build the Abbey and a single king and go 2 TC Fast castle behind it, against a Chinese Opponent where he harrasses & causes the opponent to delay his build a bit and choose a sub-optimal Barbican location. That s a huge win early game. You mentioned tower building on seeing abbey. IMO, if the opponent is forced to build an early tower thats 100 wood spent early game vs a free king. That s a win for the English and especially this build already. Also, you have to remember many civs / playstyles & builds rely on early berries / deer. All those are candidates for harrass. I am usually P3, D1 and an experienced English main, if that matters, so decent enough to have a respectable opinion.
@@abhishekab1 I am an OTP English player and usually I am ranked between top 200/300 so low conq3 high conq2 if I have a bad losing streak, my profile is I_NeedHelp. 4 instead of 2 vils on Dark Age LM means you delay your 2nd TC by a good 30 to 40 secs which most likely will get you punished at that level of play. Like beasty said many times, the more you climb up, the more the players become aggressive and punish the 2nd TC. The whole point as English to rush a 2nd TC is to have it as fast as humanly possible in order to pump out farms to go age 3. The king is there as a distraction most of the time and apart from forcing out a tower out of your opponent it rarely achieves anything in age 2. So once again I see no value in rushing up the LM to get it quickly. Clicking the 2nd TC (not finishing it) at 5:30 or 6 means you complete age 3 at 10:30-11 and that's IF YOU DON'T take any damage lol. By that time if you play vs any aggressive civ you're practically guaranteed to get dented in once you try and build the LM -> loss
Bruh what? Tower of victory is crazy good, works on handcannoners as well btw Then compound of the defender is crazy good for keep spam, house of learning is also really viable with some cool techs in it And the free handcannoneer elephants? Only dome and the other imp one don't feel that great but even done has its uses
How would you go about going for aggression after the 2nd tc. Is going fuedal aggression at that point not a good idea because english have a stronger fuedal than castle age anyway? Or is it to slow to be able to do anything at that stage?
@BeastyqtSC2 what to do when the enemy goes FC? Having so many problem with this build with abasids and Hre, in 9 min you have either lost all relics or having +1 units on your base.
When I set white tower and my production buildings to the same control group, I have to set white tower first and not last for it to be prioritized, annoying as I have "select all barracks" on 5 and I cant even select all of them with 5 to hotkey into control group 5 after setting white tower to ctrl group 5 first... did beasty get this wrong or did anything change with the game?
I don't think beasty uses the "select all barracks" hotkey. In his hotkey guide from a while back he said he manually adds his military production buildings to a control group, which would bypass this problem
Hi, does anyone know how to get the resources overlay to move from the left like the game defaults to the top like Beasty has it? or Is it just possible in spectator modes?
I go standard English build. I beat this one guy and he called me an idiot. I guess he switched to English after losing, we got paired a second time, he want abbey of the kings and I beat him again. Lol he was so mad.
This is just a UI glitch. The Kings Palace is an age 3 landmark to go to castle but the UI says age 2. English isn't actually building 2 age 2 landmarks
This is very helpful. Since I have always preferred starting with abbey. But it's not called abbey of meme. Nobody calls Joan of Arc Joke of Arc. So wtf?
Would've been really 5head if you had done a value mining camp for the age-up gold with the camp on stone in the first game. Then put TC on the gold. Spawn dependent but would be pretty nice when it shows up.
