Twenty six minutes of feeling to be sitted with a friend, talking music, talking vinyl, talking travels, relaxing, having fun and sharing a mutual passion ! A tipical Ken Micallef video.
Totally with you on Bitches Brew; absolutely fantastic album. Who even cares if you want to call it jazz or not? And, thanks for the mention of those Hank Mobley albums; great to have albums I've never heard to check out as I've always thought he was underrated;. One of the most beautiful tones of any sax player.
The Hapless Child is from 1976, not 1972. And WATT was not a pre-ECM label, it was Carla Bley and Michael Mantler's label which was distributed by ECM.
Wow Ken, nice finds got to finds some of these, saw the Pete Jolly record which I enjoy very much, got to find those ECM records though to find originals of them, Happy listening 🎶 🎵🥁🎷🎺🎹🎧🌃
Cool Records I have some of them , would like to have some of those you showed very difficult to get them in Denmark. I would like to visit old second hand record stores outside of New York. Cool Ken
That Grant Green was originally released as a Dave Bailey album on a small label in the early 60s but it’s very rare and expensive. I have the same pressing as you which is the reissue on Muse from the 70s!
Greetings from Malta Congratulations on the great selections and finds. Just to specify that Klaus Schulze was a member of Tangarene Dream. Thanks and keep up the good work!!
Awesome vid and really cool records as always! Had forgotten about Blossom Dearie and you NEVER see any Jaki Bryard anywhere (besides Fuschia Swing Song). Would love to hear updates on how your new copy of Gateway runs
Another fab one, and I just used that farm to table analogy myself the other day, but in the Americana world: Gillian Welch & David Rawlings own a recording studio, a cutting lathe and, as part owners of Paramount Plating & Pressing (formerly the VMP plant), a pressing facility -- farm to table.
Just picked up a UK copy of the self titled “Matching Mole” album. Absolutely love anything with Robert Wyatt. Also the Hal Galpert album I’m hunting for is “Wild Bird”…incredible album.
so many great records. i have a handful of those -- so much great 70's/80's stuff you can get for ~ $10. i was going to recommend the eastworld direct to disk series, but i see you picked up one! (the Marvin Peterson one). there's one with cliff jordan and hank jones, too. the sound and pressing quality is equal, or better, than the $150 "uhqr's" of today. cheers!
1-Nothing left nor bernie-like on that LP ,nor about those 50s-60s artists you mentioned on this video Piano a la percussion record , nor in Latin or Spanish culture per se , other than the marxist foreign jive that came from the outside like it did here, or perhaps only in your own imagination, or machinations more likely. 2- Learn what they say about an often repeated lie still being a lie to those who somewhere somehow know better. 3- We SEE you so keep swinging though. And ... Shema!!! for good AELready!!!
1-Like you and theY have been aelready told 144 444 times, clockwork (orange. Get it yet?) 2- It's all WAY ABOVE your skill levels, and riches , from the forever present , with the past and the future in it mi grey in your deceit stasi -like boys and girls, and possible demons 2 3-...Shema!!!
