I havent seen that on my Mojo 4S Chassis but I did let a kid drive it and sent it full speed head on into a metal parking pole and snapped the front end of the chassis right in two also snapping the bulkhead gussets and demolishing the steering rack. It was like Christmas today with having a bunch of parts goodies delivered today.
My Kraton 4s V2 did the same on the motor side , once these cracks start they don't stop, especially if you run in the cold. The Torque from the motor helps the cracks get bigger.Never had an issue with any of my 4s machines until the V2 chassis.✌️
For those whom don't tare down these R/C's too much and watching a step by step video is taking away any doubts people may have and actually encourage , and lets hope Arrma take on board these important finds you have mention , thanks Earl .
Yeah Earl I have seen another guy on RU-vid put a hole in the chassis big enough as well. Now he was testing and hard, no messing about. But where the hole was again won't effect the running of the RC. Honestly I don't think any chassis would have took the hit and survived but just like you where saying he thinks it's maybe a bit thin with the Arrma logo. You sure did clean your's up nice.... Hopefully mine will be here in the UK within the next 10 days or so. Great vid as usual man thanks. 😊
I bought a chassis skid plate for mine to protect the chassis from issues like yours has. It does add some weight to the truck though but I think its worth it.
Maybe some sort of chassis armour plating would work? I also have it on my xmaxx. Not so much for functionality but more for show;) but i think it could work on the 4s mojave?
Thanks for the videos Earl. I bought a mojave 4s and this is my first rc car for over 30 years! these deomonstration videos on how to pull it apart and back together are very helpful to a complete newbie like myself. After each use (4 bats so far) I give mine a shake out and blow out with a battery powered computer dust blower to blow out most of the dust then I use a pair of tweezers to grab any long dried up grass that I see poking out from underneath hard to reach spots but judging by this video it looks like I will have to do the same as you in a few more runs time.
Excellent tear down and commentary video. I just bought mine. Haven't had a run with it yet. In the past 6 years I've purchased 5 r/cs and have not had a failure of any kind. They're all shelf queens and I drive them much different than most folk. I guess that eventually they'll have to be torn down a little and inspected. I thank you for making it look a little less intimidating. Your knowledge base is quite remarkable.
Might be worth investing in a small air compressor to blow off all muck after each bash ? That's what I do. I'm new to rc but can't see how you can own an rc without one. And I don't live near any sand. Interesting vid as keen to get one of these trucks but currently can't buy here in UK.
For 500 bucks the outcat/notorius 6s was way more fun IMO. An 8s Mojave or 8s Tallon or 3s Tallon tlr would be cool that truck is a parts bin nightmare money grab IMO. Cheers keep rockin brother!!
i have a feeling in winter that chassis is going to super brittle 6s Mojave probably better winter basher which kinda sucks snow bashing is my favorite kind
I wouldn’t discourage your friend from enjoying a really fun RC. Stuff breaks or wears down and needs replacing. Thankful replacements parts are available and at reasonable prices.
@@rcjoe406body damage is just one thing you accept when you bash a short course style body RC. I used shoe goo only on the areas most likely to incur the most damage, like the wheel wells and hard corners/edges on the back of the truck near the “bed”.
I will stick with the Mojave 6s. If you buy the mesh cover to cover over the body it keeps about 75% of the debris out and so far I had no overheating issues with it
That chassis won't last Earl,a small pebble or rock landing bust my Kraton, right were the Arrma logo is etched in.Even with M2C chassis brace on.Without the brace it would be toast.✌️
hi, it's a good rc because plastic and on Arrma 4s you can break it too ! this one seems harder, but you can break an aluminium chassis too ! i drive only in field, i think it's more durable for rc and short course ! you can bash but paid too ! have fun, thanks
It’s how flexible it is that’s why plastic chassis like the xmaxx survived light weight and flexible when it comes to plastic metal chassis tend to be heavier and bend also the weight will break arms easier 👌
@@earlmoorhead5555 save servo from Granit, light too ! but i'm happy cause with friend we like speed and small bash, i'm fond of this look scale too ! what a nice beast !
Yes like I’ve tried to explain to razor rc who’s broken many chassis on arrma 4s line that’s it’s a landing on rocks we can’t predict this as it happens some chassis like the slash or xmaxx has the chassis that handles these type of impact arrma different in there design and it doesn’t handle them as well but still a good platform for the experience you get from an arrma 👍
@@earlmoorhead5555thanks for the shoutout in the other video. I’ve broken chassis from a combo of things, some are definitely from landing on rocks, some are the end of the motor smacking the chassis, some are at the neck just shearing off, some are cracking where the battery strap holes are carved out. So a multitude of things can cause the chassis to break.
@RazorRC yes I noticed Arrma chassis on this 3s 4s line seems to crack a lot in videos I’ve seen where traxxas do break seems as they don’t break as easily 👍👌🤷🏻♂️
Hiii, your content is very useful, I’m new to the hobby and have a very different model, I’d just like to ask how often should I do maintenance to my Rc? Like shocks refilling and differentials lubricants? Thank you very much.
Just got mine the other day, 2 battery packs in. The first was a 5000 MaH 100c, that gave me what felt like maybe 7 minutes of run time, second pack, I ran a 7500 MaH 75c, that gave me about a 12 minute run time. How long were your run times? And what batteries where you using? Yes I confirmed that they where both fully charged prior. Both are brand new out of the box. The 7500 I went to my LHS and they checked the battery before I took it. The location I was driving was a big open field with a nice big hill. All grass and dry. Fun as hell ripping I will say.
@@Reekohswahvayif you are running full throttle all the time you're only going to get about 15 or 20 minutes run time no matter what battery you put in it. Believe it or not those Motors pull about 1,000 to 1500 watts at Full Throttle so you're unloading 2 horsepower on those small battery packs
There is no way I can run full trigger for any period of time with any rc car as breaking and accelerating is most of what I do bashing or racing an rc car 🤷🏻♂️
I only lubricate the differentials after about 30 packs in to inspect the wear and shim them bearing I’ll inspect after 10 packs if need be I’ll add grease if there rough or sticking otherwise I clean inspect and do nothing if all is good 👍
Watching how much just dirt and sand just came off this thing I cringed every time you put this thing on your trunk especially after running in the sand your detailer must love you 🤑. I’m lucky enough to have my truck and it’s LineX covered tailgate most times but when I take my smaller RC’s out after work and I’m in my car I have a rubber tray in the trunk just for this
AJJam Studios here where I live, has a great RC channel and he profiled this RC car recently. He experienced the same issues that you have. To me, Armma put a sub par car out on the market that clearly should never have been released until these issues were resolved. Armma appears to have a habit of doing this.
Yes they do as horizon is limiting there testing time for arrma budget is my best guess as listing to Losi explain in a podcast with the promoto how horizon gave them the time to test to solve issues with the bike really allows a great product to be released all sorted out 🧐🤔
@@earlmoorhead5555 Being under the thumb of "Horizon" may not work out to be the shiny new thing that these once independent companies were hoping for! Is "corporate greed" already infecting the process?
Someone needs come out with 1/4 impacts or atleast one just for wheels , I’m going hack one of these free tools 🧰 the 17 mm side and weld 1/4 shank or just pick up 3/8 1/2 inch conversion and just use 17 mm socket 😂 Earl do I pick up the heat wave livery Losi sct enjoy quality take it easy or 6s Mojave need a little brother and keep it bashing , I still probably keep 4s Mojave from heavy dirt bashing and repair one of the 3s guys . My lhs also has couple LMT kits I have my eye in 😂
I think every rc has its specialties, you being extra rough purposeful for testing but even the 6s Mojave we can turn into scrap metal in few weeks if you’re not tentative , the scts really take a beating and you running in sand , probably only thing worse is water 💦. Traxxas is better in this sense but arrmas trade off is capable higher speed bashing or bashing performance.
I’ve been running rc at this location for over a year now 🤷🏻♂️I’ve taken every rc here 💯can’t say I took this to a beach or it’s the only time I’ve been here lmao that’s crazy 😜
