NEW ATINY | Ateez GUERRILLA+HALAZIA | MV+DP+LIVE Reaction 

Ateez come from a rather small Company KQ. KQ only had like 10 people working at it when Ateez debuted 5 years ago. They went into millions of debt to debut them. So its amazing they are where they are today, they have persevered solely on talent and a little of genius sprinkled in. Their story is quite amazing.

the "break the wall" fan chant in concerts is so iconic. You have to see a concert version of Guerrilla!

I honestly don’t think anyone can win over Ateez when it comes to energy. I have seen them live three times and I don’t know how they can put up with three hours of crazy dancing in live singing.

I’m sure people will recommend Turbulence, but the ultimate ateez ballad has to be “Be With You”. It’s beautiful! I HIGHLY recommend venturing into their B sides. Their title tracks are all great but their bsides are where they REALLY shine! I’d also say check out some of the members solo covers. Like San’s “Breathe”, Yeosang’s “Hug me”, Jongho’s “Wildflower”, etc.

Ateez has an entire storyline that is carried through almost all of their tracks, MVs, and live stages starting from their 2018 debut. It is pretty complex but the basics are they are a form of multidimensional, time traveling pirates (think more like underground, government overthrowing pirates than sea pirates, but they do incorporate some traditional pirate elements). There is World A (our world) and World Z (Strictland…where they are in this video). In Strictland, emotions, art, and music are banned. There is a movement to overthrow the government, which is what is happening in these videos. Ateez is the first artist to come from KQ, they started with nothing and built their way up. KQ wasn’t even thinking of making a group honestly, it happened when Hongjoong joined as a producer but then started planning to make a group

They have a very complicated lore! There are 2 dimensions, World A and World Z. And they have alter egos, named The Black Pirates (but we call them Halateez after the Hala Hala mv, which was the first full Halateez concept song and video) In guerrilla, they are in "Strictland" which is world Z, a futuristic world without emotions. Music and dance are prohibited, and everyone lives like robots. Halateez are a group of anarchists (the A symbols in Guerrilla). They are trying to fight the government and wake ppl up with music and dancing. Ateez are in world A which is the normal world. They got to world Z (which is a long story) and they began to fight against the government there too. They are infiltrating the "Prestige Academy", which is like the most famous school there that brainwash the children to have no emotions. As u can see in the mv, they hacked into the sch's system, blasted music and danced, removed covers from windows, threw flyers, etc to wake the students up. That's why this song is so hard hitting. In the ending scene, a student woke up bcz of their music and came to them. Halazia is a spin-off. From the witnesses' pov of halateez and ateez in world Z. They put out diary entries and diary films explaining their storyline. The mvs themselves are full of lore. Usually when they are in world A, the songs are usually softer, or not that hard hitting. But in world Z, songs are mostly hard hitting or even cyberpunky. (they have a song called Cyberpunk, literally)

Almost every MV teases the next song. Or teases something about their lore. If you watch the mvs in release order you’ll see it. A fun thing you might like to do is watch the Ultimate Guide to ATEEZ 2023 by allthekenneys. I will watch anyone who watches that. It’s long but it’s really good. Also I hope you’ll react to some of their ballads as you said. Or cheerier songs. Celebrate and If Without You both have videos to then that aren’t necessarily lore related. They’re just fun. My favorite song ever is Fever. They have so many good ballads. Mist, Not Too Late, All About You, The Letter, Jongho’s solo Everything. Enjoy the journey. They are amazing at everything they do.

I’m so happy you reacted to these two songs together! I love the story being told with these songs. I get chills every time I watch the MVs. You mentioned wanting to hear some of their ballads, and I immediately thought of ‘Everything’ by Jongho. (He’s the one with intense eyes you kept pointing out in Guerrilla lol) it’s a beautiful ballad that brought me to tears the first time I heard it. It’s off their newest album where the group split into sub units for four of the songs. ‘MATZ’ (Hongjoong, Seonghwa), ‘Youth’ (Mingi, Yunho), ‘IT’s You’ (San, Wooyoung, Yeosang) are the other three sub unit songs. All four songs have music videos, and are stylistically very different! Thank you for reacting to Ateez, they’re such a fun group to see live and have such diverse discography. For less intense songs that aren’t ballads I’d say inception, deja vu or answer. For actual ballad my favourites are turbulence and mist (mist has no mv tho)

Ateez, Halazia makes me want to be a ATINY, I really loved that song definitely my favourite out of these 2 songs, Guerrilla is great to, loved the futuristic but also reto feel of the mv with the old school raw hiphop in the beginning, the melody is great so much nuances to the song Ateez has amazing engery and symertry, the look great loved the cruella 😋, the choreography is incredible.. loved the all white look with the red elements. I like that sinds 2020 you see snippeds intro's to mv's on the end of a mv's again. You saw that alot in 2006 to 2010. To introduce another song or sometimes it's part of a series.. I don't know if this is the case with ateez, but I heard that they have many easter eggs in their mv's hunting to other songs or albums with even music fragments of older songs or even nieuwer songs. Like they always mention in interviews that all there songs are connected to one another in some ways. I need to rewatch halazia a couple of times love the mv, and love the song.. Ateez is one of those rare no skip groups. They have a VAST catalog and are very versatile. Per your request, here are some ballads for you to check out: - Turbulence (has a music video and several live stages. Some with a band!) - Be With You (this one doesn’t have any lives but maybe doing a color coded will help you learn names) - Everything (this is a JongHo solo that has a music video) - Aurora (not exactly a ballad but it is more easy listening and it’s completely ethereal. It has an MV) - One Day At A Time (this one has a live band version on The Kolor. I think of those, only Turbulence and Everything have official MVs, but there are lyric and live videos of the others. If you do Turbulence, my favorite version is from a youtube channel called "it's Live" (1.78 million subscribers). Although it's not live in front of an audience, it is their live vocals, and it's recorded beautifully with lots of closeups of their beautiful faces. 🥰

I just have to say, with ateez u can't only listen to their mv/title song. U have to listen to the entire album bcs their music consists of an entire story, that's why each of their albums' name have that "episode" in its name. And also bcs their music is so diverse, yet their albums always have that cohesive sound. U can only appreciate their amazing music n find your exact type/most favourite song by listening to their full albums. U won't regret it 😉 Edited: Also bcs every song of their albums is worth to be title song quality-wise. So if the title song isn't really your cup of tea, chance is 100% u'll find your preferred song within the same album. Their B-sides are hidden title songs materials. I myself often find other songs I like more in their albums. Their title songs are still great tho.

Guerilla is probably the most intense Ateez song. If you want to listen to softer Ateez vocals, I would recommend Aurora, Turbulence or Take Me Home. Their company, KQ Entertainment, is a small company. They have become famous because of Ateez.

i dont often comment, but i just have to, because your videos are just awesome!! i seriously appreciate how you really get "into" the songs by also watching dance practice and live performances. sometimes a song just gets better every time u listen, and most reaction youtubers only watch the mv once, so its awesome how u watch other stuff too!!! its fun and im glad you're enjoying ateez :)) if you decide to react to more ateez, i would recommend "inception", it is slightly slower than guerrilla or halazia, though not quite a ballad. "deja vu" is also an incredible song. and also "cyberpunk", this one isn't a title track so it doesn't have an mv, but it's such a crazy good song and there is a music bank live performance which i watch religiously hahah!!
