For some reason the US market favors big and obnoxious things, over sleek and sporty. It must be a side effect of the obesity epidemic... also, in complete agreement that I would get this over an SUV.
Love Catchpole, the proper brilliant british auto journalist, juxtaposition to the equally brilliant and utterly creative Jason Camissa makes Hagerty a must watch channel. Now, if by some miracle they were to add Chris Harris or the OG himself, Jeremy Clarkson, all other car channels would become utterly irrelevant. Cheers to Hagerty!
This quality, this presentation of automotive journalism in a whole artform itself, is awesome. And you're putting them out at a pretty good pace too! Love it.
Another incredible video! ❤ In most applications Audis do not excite me, but their Estates (Wagons) though...my goodness. In my opinion, Audi's design language is thoroughly realized in Estate form and is one of the sexiest cars on the road. I do not believe we get the RS4 Avant in the U.S., but when I see the RS6 Avant, I drool every time. Thanks for the post!
Another great review by Henry - balanced, informative and coupled with superb filming. The M3 Touring might have the dynamic edge, but on looks alone the RS4 is streets ahead, and on that basis I’d plump for the Audi every time
Just bought my first Audi , 2019 RS3. Boi i gotta say, once you go Audi you ain’t driving other cars. It’s balance between sporty and comfort. The perfect daily drive, the car that you can bring your family to the cottage and also driving on the B road with your boi in the weekend. I’ve own 2015 A45 before and it no way close to the RS3. Imagine driving the 2022 RS4 must be a dream
Audi is gonna release the b10 next year right? So the next gen rs4 might be more comparable in terms of sheer power to the c63s e performance and the new bmw 3 series touring
I remember going to Marbella with my friends in a rented car. We decided to drive up the mountains and ended up in Ronda by chance. Amazing roads and views on the way to Ronda!
I’d be upset if I couldn’t have those seats, they look incredible, strange decision to not supply to UK, perhaps Brexit is to blame. Otherwise a fitting finale for the B9, looks so purposeful on KW suspension.
I'm upset Europe gets the RS4 Avant and the M3 Touring while America doesn't. America needs more wagon style cars, less SUVs. But for Audi and BMW, they've made absolutely beautiful cars
after 15y driving audi quattro's and now for 4y a bmw M2 and M240 xdrive I never go back to audi. If you want real drives, bmw is better. If you want real connection with the road, bmw is better. If you want real fun, bmw is better. If you want to drive, instead off the technology, bmw is the car. Your grandmother can drive on track with audi. Even the xdrive is better then quattro. The fun I have on ski-holiday's on snowy mountainpasses... never had that with quattro. (btw, love your video's)
Another great review Henry, you are a master at this! As for the RS4 AC. Magnificant car, except for the 21in iMac sitting on the dash, what were they thinking??
Surprise Surprise to see Henry then went back to see am I watching Carfection Or Hagerty still I knew it was Hagerty. Henry is a Perfect Automotive reviewer it's another gem for the team.
I recently traded in a 2021 RS5 Sportback for a M4 Comp, and the difference is bonkers. The Audi just felt like a normal car with a big engine, but the BMW feels like a bespoke performance car. Literally no competition.
Frankly I get that the rs6 avant and rs7 are more disabled but most people won't be able to afford em if they can even find em. Not enough attention is given to this car and the other audi cars for that matter. Very happy to see a good video on the rs4 avant finally!
Thank you for shooting the video in a real European town, not just a mindless drag race in the middle of nowhere. The scenery in this video is a respite from tiring anonymity of American desert and from revolting looks of American cardboard suburbia.
I know it won’t be their goal to match the bmw exactly but I think they’ve missed a trick not giving the competition more power. Especially given the way BMW always quote low numbers
Speaking of Ascari, I have the ‘21 RS5 Sportback Ascari LE… the dynamic suspension has true difference between the modes (read wife doesn’t complain when in comfort mode). So, the coil-overs are not a plus here. The dynamic steering is also good so meh on that change. Guys this is a sport wagon not an STO. What the RS needs is a thicker rear sway and another 100 hp, 150 lb.ft and no forward resonators. All this we can do for a few grand aftermarket.
I would take an M car over Any RS product line up. Audis used to be slightly cheaper than bmws. Now they are about the same if not more expensive. If you like spirited driving, M cars just feel so much secure around the corners compared to RS Cars. There’s a reason why M3 is still an icon to this day
Stunning! one of the most proportioned, purposeful and coolest cars ever built (in any category, and almost cooler than the elder RS6 Avant). Despite Audi's awful reputation for unreliablity and running costs....tempts me greatly. To compare with the beemer or the Merc seems.....laughable.
Is carfection no more then? I’m an Audi Nerd. This is awesome, and better than the new M3. I quite frankly don’t care if it’s quicker, the RS4 just has something about it.
