The Gods, headed by Indradev, approach Lord Vishnu with a request to save them from the cruelty bestowed upon them by a malicious king Kans. Vishnu assures them that he will put an end to Kans's utterly odious and wicked crimes and for that he will take the avatar of Krishna. Vishnu also tells that yet another paramount importance of him taking the avatar is because of his unprecedented need to experience the divine relationship between a son and his mother, and live it to the fullest. He decides to choose Yashoda from Gokul as the mother of his new avatar. He explain to the gods how his avatar will be blessed with the love and care of two mothers.
