Thanks for everyone’s concern about my new axolotl! For everyone asking if I cycled the tank, yes of course I did. When I finally put him in, it was a couple days after I filmed setting everything up. Also when cleaning his tank I used vinegar after, but with how much stuff was stuck on and in the tank, dawn soap was a must. Hope I cleared everyone’s concerns!
A tip when getting axolotls: Before you put them straight into the tank it's good for you to have them in a plastic bag with the water they came in and you hold the bag in the water for about 20 minutes so he or she can get used to the water temperature. (By plastic bags I mean a clear one like the ones you get when buying the animal).
Why do all that research but then not cycle the tank?? Axolotls (or any aquatic animal for that matter) need a fully cycled aquarium to survive.. not 20 minutes after adding prime
@Onion_Ring Playz oh. WAIT WHAT?!?!?! WHY IS SHE GONNA KILL IT?!?!?! She doesn’t kill animals! Just because some RU-vidrs act different and only care about money in rl doesn’t mean she is one of them
she didnt let any beneficial bacteria build up nor let cycle in general. trust me what shes doing is very dangerous and can cause many tanks to completely perish, let alone one infant axolotl. I understand that she may be a beginner but maybe dont go with something so odd to take care of as an axolotl just because u thought they were cute. it wont be cute when its laying on the bottom of the tank flipped on its back.
axolotls are incredibly water sensitive. You should never put one in an uncycled tank. You should be checking the water parameters to make sure that they are what an axolotl needs. Please do not promote people to do something that could cause death.
@@lilyprowse1043 excuse me but these animals can die very easily. If she did cycle the tank then great! But she should say that in her video. There are a lot of people who don't know what they are doing and wont do proper research who will see this and start getting axolotls and you know what happens then? A lot of dead axolotls. So I will not apologize for trying to prevent them from dying.
Chocolate, if it’s a boy, Coco if it’s a girl because the axolotl is brown. That’s why I had to be named chocolate or Coco cause there’s a very cute names, and their gender neutral an axolotl is my dream pet. You are so lucky to have one. Love you ❤
you didnt rinse the sand out, thats why its foggy. all the dirt and grime is still on it and can be toxic in your tank. i can tell this poor axolotl isnt going to last very long.
@@jaydenwinfrey8405 umm, excuse me, i have an axolotl and i have owned axolotls for many years, i think i'd know what im talking about. 2 her filter sucks,it wont cycle through all the dirt and the conditioner doesnt do all the work. I use that conditioner, but still rinse out my sand and it is never like that.
I AM SORRY ,I HAVE AXOLTL AS WELL HIS NAME IS BUBBLES. I THOUGHT FOR A SECOND THAT YOU WERE BEING RUDE TO HER. I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR MY ACTIONS TOWARD YOU
Ok so you didn't cycle, you ised dish soap to wash the stuff, the plants are too poky and they will cut the axie. The tunnel is way to small! They could get stuck! Please in the future do more research before getting one. The tanks also too small for a long living axie. I care a lot aboukt these animals. Im not teying to pick on you but i really just want you to know that. Love you tho.😊
@@leooflegendshorts5353wdym, he is trying to tell her these IMPORTANT things so the axolotl doesn't die. It's not trying to get attention, it is just trying to help. You need to learn that.
Hey i breed these adorable creatures and id like to give some advice. Please tub the axolotl with 100% daily water changes you didnt cycle the tank properly if you just whipped that filter straight out of the box and started running it. You cant do a fish in cycle with axolotls because they are sensitive animals :(
@Anna and Friends that's cool. However just because she handles tigers and lions doesn't mean she knows all the info on other animals. Giving info to make sure someone knows never hurts.
I’m just saying but don’t use soap after getting a fish or amphibian and the water needs to be cycled just saying (it can take months sometimes so be prepared) Try cycling it next time before you put in the animal (sorry if you did cycle it and I was just dumb and didn’t notice, if that’s the case then ignore me :)
Washing your aquarium with soap is really risky and dangerous, no matter how dirty your aquarium is. It should be avoided at all costs because even trace amounts can seriously harm aquatic creatures. Even if you rinse the soap off several times, it is extremely difficult to remove all of the soap residue.
Im sure he was fine but cycling a tank can take weeks you can add ammonia to speed it up some and they normally require atlead a 20gal breeder tank. I also didnt know how to cycle a tank for an axolotl when i first got mine its a common mistake it takes time qnd patience. I would qlso highly recomend getting a water test kit to be sure it was properly cycled you should always test for nitrate nitrite and amonia also just general hardness hope this helps! I recommend api master test kit qnd test it weekly.
Actually if you do your research if says an axolotl can either have a 20galon tank or a10galon tank if you have 1 but if you have two you can have a 45galon tank or more if needed
@@geckolady874 45 gallon is the absolute minimum for 2 and axolotl can't live alone.. you need 2male or male and female in the same aquarium... if an hamster that is 10cm long need a minimum of a 40 gallon of a tank imagine a 30cm long species
Axolotls at least need a 20 gallon tank you should get a new one now before it grows and don't touch them a lot they are very sensitive. The tank needs to be cycled correctly it take a few weeks. I can't tell about the plants but they should be soft if you are using fake ones, I would use real ones personally. You were right about a few things but I hope your axolotl does well congratulations on your new pet I hope u listen to the comments :)
The comments fill me with joy. My daughter put this on and i was SCREAMING at everything she was doing... I bet that poor baby didnt even last a week... Also...CHANGE YOUR SMOKE ALARM BATTERY OHHH MY GODDDDD.
The second she pulled out that tiny little tank I knew this was going to be horrible ;-; At least people here are trying to educate her! So many other videos with axolotl abuse and neglect just have people saying how cute it is.
Omg, that lil guy looks like a shadow to me. Edit: What I mean is he looks like his name would be shadow. Soo cute! 🥺 kinda also looks like his name would be Brownie 😂
I love setting up environments for animals, and organising so I loved this video as it was so fun to watch you set up the tank, please do more videos like this!
Hana please look at aquarium info before putting your axolotl into the new waters and space and also real plans like live plants are better for your tank like the ones that can stay submerged in water for a long time and also never give the axolotl sand if it’s not full grown Sand for a baby or young axolotl is not good for adult axolotl’s it is good
You need a 15-20 gallon tank at least. Natural plants are better. You should probably add a few more places for him/her to hide. Im pretty sure they need more sand to. Based on what evrybody is saying i think you need to research more.
I think axolotls are very cool! But I will have to say I think you should have just gotten a new tank instead of a old one. I get you could clean it but there might be things messed up with it. Like the top might have cracks and stuff like that. Also I think you could use a 20 gallon tank instead of a 10 gallon one!
So much misinformation. Anyone watching this to learn, DO NOT USE DAWN DISH SOAP OR ANY SOAP ON YOUR AQUARIUMS. You can clean them with vinegar. But never soap. Do your research.
Really? my axolotl got injured while going near a decoration, maybe adding bigger and taller plants so the axolotl cannot crush the plant they may need at least a bit of oxygen in the tank
i understand that u got a filter for a ten-gallon tank if your tank is ten gallons but axolotls are a lot messier and produces more ammonia than other fish so you might wanna upgrade the filter and as the little guy gets bigger as well upgrade his/hee tank aswell
So I was curious how come you didn't fill the water to the top and you don't have anything like a lid to put on top up if you said that they jump out? I have never had one of those but I do have tanks that have fish and shrimp and stuff
