New Baby, New House, New Routine! (and new car 😳) 

I just keep thinking about you and your husband and George in your first apartment every time I see Violet on screen- you guys have come so far and grown so much but you and Dallon are still the same humble people you were back in the apartment. Major props and thank you for sharing so much. The more I hear George and James talk I just admire your family a little more. Y’all are awesome.

I just want to say thank you for briefly talking about your anxiety and fear of mortality in postpartum. After my twins I struggled with this greatly especially during Covid. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one.

I’m so glad that this postpartum seems to be going better for you. You have such a beautiful family. They have the sweetest personalities!

It seems like after seeing James being picked up from school that her personality has exploded and she’s come out of her shell! She looks so big now! George is hilarious and I just want to listen to Violet’s little sounds. 😍

Ashley, you seem so much more peaceful with this baby than before. I love that. Violet is a perfect name for her. A violet looks so fragile, but yet they are so strong. This is this tiny girl.

I’m so happy that she’s nursing well!! All 4 of my babies were born early due to pregnancy induced hypertension and they weren’t good nursers. I gave up with the first 3 but exclusively pumped for 16 months with baby # 4. Keep up the fantastic work, Ash!! You’re doing GREAT!!!!

I love Violet so so much! 😍 Also it's my mom's and great grandma's names so it has a special place in my heart. But she is adorable and now I have a crazy desire to have another baby 😂 I stopped nursing my 2 year old in April this year, and it brought on some pretty bad postpartum depression. This is the 3rd time I've dealt with depression but the first time I needed to seek out help. My go to for getting out of my funk, is I write in a journal, but not the normal way. I write inspirational quotes on days I'm feeling good and bad days I write 1 sentence as many times as I need to until I feel a mental shift about it - it's always a positive sentence on how I want to feel and think (example: I am a strong and positive woman who isn't afraid of asking for help.) I always formulate my sentence around what my brain is focused on and then spin it in the opposite direction with a positive note. (The above example I wrote in my journal when I was feeling like all I saw was negatives in my day to day life and I was feeling like everything was on me to get done and I couldn't accomplish it, so my goal was to change my brain patterns to look for positives every day and to be comfortable asking for help). My daughter was a good sleeper from day 1. It was sooo helpful in my recovery. For about 6 weeks she ate and slept continuously. I called my doctor because she slept so much. My Doctor said "be grateful, other mothers would give anything to have your problem". So true.

I had preeclampsia and IUGR with my first baby. He did much better out of my body than in. Two pounds one ounce and now he's a huge three year old!!!

Click bait no new house!! Lol lol lol Because of you I am now the proud owner of 2 onesies!! And you were right, they are life changing!!

Ashley, I have been watching your family for years. My daughter was also pregnant the same time and gave birth in early July. Her baby was also so much smaller than her two older children, (by two lbs)and she also had high blood pressure. So funny, they too have a 4-runner and 2 dogs! (Gosh I share your exact same fears about a child in the far back seat)Everything you describe is true for so many moms and families, routines, attitudes, overwhelmed siblings and parents, and the heat.....(we’re in no. Cal.) Enjoy those hide away moments nursing, snuggles with George and James, and make some time for you and daddy. You have a beautiful family, thank you for sharing.

Love the new car! I have anxiety as well since my sister and I were rear-ended a few years ago with my kids in the back seat. The first thing I screamed was, "my girls!" Thankfully we were all ok, but it was super scary. It especially scared my youngest daughter who is legally blind. Violet is so precious ❤️ Love your family, you are blessed! 😍🙌

My son was born at 36 weeks, he was 5lbs 1oz, I also had extremely high blood pressure during my pregnancy, He slept 23 hours a day for his first month.

You both have raised beautiful/handsome children. I hope to meet all you when "things get back to normal" I hope you can make a trip to East TN just outside of Knoxville in a town called Loudon Bless You

I had high BP with my first and she was 4lbs10oz at 37 weeks(induced due to my BP being 225/210) With my newest I was on bp meds and took a baby aspirin daily. She was born at 38+1 weighing 6lbs11oz. The differences were day and night!

A fun activity for kiddos is what my kids call "what am I" we call it charades. 😂😂😂 we made our own game by writing what it is on small slips of paper and letting the kids pick it out of a bag and then they get to act that out. Ours can read but you could draw pictures like of a cat or cow, shoe...and the kids have to try to get everyone to guess the word without talking. They have so much fun and it always ends up with fits of laughter. Violet is so adorable, George and James are the best big siblings.

My baby was full term and was 5lb 2oz but that doesn't mean there was anything wrong, just means he was small! You read far too much into things.

I had a little turtle, his name was Tiny Tim. I put him in the bathtub, to see if he could swim. He drank up all the water, he ate up all the soap. And now he's laying sick in bed, with bubbles in his throat! (Hiccup!) (OR Bbbbbbbbbb! - blow a raspberry)

Double check that your new car doesn’t have over lapping seatbelts in the back seat. I know some of the older models did not sure on a newer one. Also make sure you top tethers your forward facing seats.

Omg. I’m 3 months PP yesterday and the death anxiety and morbid thoughts of me dying haven’t subsided yet 😭 thankfully it’s calming down but I still have those awful thoughts.

I had blood pressure issues too, 3 times, and BIG babies. So don't think that's necessarily it. I had a two 9lbs and 1 8lb.

Love the car! We’ve got a Highlander hybrid…..Toyota vehicles are the best! I’m amazed at how quickly you’re getting into a normal routine, in spite of how you’re feeling. WELL DONE! The summary by the kiddos of their school day was so precious! James report of the orange group and the red group was adorable! Violet is simply beautiful!

I'm loving the Violet content. I have watched you since your small apartment when George was a tiny baby. I have three of my own and have contemplated on having another. My pregnancies were smooth and I had no complications. I had my babies at 23, 25, and 28. Now that I'm 35 I'm wondering what adding a new addition may entail. I may have complications during pregnancy. It's also a new world out there! You're doing a great job! As a mom that have been financially, physically, and emotionally responsible for my 3 kiddos 75% of the time...you can do it! I'm even contemplating another! You're wonderful parents! As a fellow teacher and parent of three, I commend you! Your new additions has even inspired me to have another!

I struggle with the same exact thing. Anxiety takes me to the fear of dying. It's the most difficult challenge. Anxiety is a living hell. I also have car anxiety and I've had that same jam too! It's the best ever! I had the strawberry kind! I love you all so much! You're the sweetest family and such good people 🤍🤍🤍

Violet is so tiny & cute! Congratulations to your family! My youngest son was born 3 weeks early weighing 6 pounds. My due date was Thanksgiving day. I went in for a routine prenatal checkup & ultrasound. Come to find my son was pulling & tugging on his hair. My doctor told me that was sign of him stressing out & next thing I know I'm being told to get my butt to the hospital for a c-section that same day. Hubby was at home with our older two boys. It was quite the surprise he was born early.

To be fair not all pregancies are the same. When you had George you had an emergency c-section right, with James it was a boring pregancy. This one was an event, not all pregancies are the same. :)

my son came 3 weeks early and was only 6lbs 8oz, don’t feel bad about your high blood pressure, you did what you could do for her and kept her as safe as you could. i’ve watched your videos since the beginning and got through my pregnancy by watching your videos. ashley, you actually got pregnant with violet a month or two after i got pregnant with my son, so it was nice to feel like we were going through pregnancy together bc i was a “high risk” pregnancy and had no one to talk to. i love you guys, i hope to run into you guys some day when i visit my brother in utah ❤️

I had an ‘02 4 Runner was MY FAVORITE..it had 329k miles when I had to let it go !!!!

Honestly preschool seems to have been great for James speech! She’s so much more understandable! I was in speech forever in school, I’m 27 and people sometimes still have issues understanding me the first time. I have trouble saying a hard A among other things so absolutely not coming from a bad place! I’m just so happy for her because I know how frustrating it is as an adult to still have some issues so I love that she is making leaps and bounds in her speaking!

Love how transparent you are with adding a new baby to the mix. It is very wonderful. But it is nice to see other parents talk about the downside of a new baby. It is tough. It is traumatic for the older siblings. But it is all so worth it. Thank you for being real!
