Today I'm reviewing one of general release 2002R colourways to release this year, the "Phantom / Magnet" edition that dropped recently in Canada. Featuring a mix of suede, mesh and nubuck on the upper, the entire shoe is given a vintage vibe with a faded upper, and yellowed midsole which makes the shoe seem like it's straight from the 80s. I agree completely - not counting the Teddy pack or the protection pack, this run of 2002rs has been so good. What a fantastic “problem” they’ve created, because I am tempted to buy most of them! I have the Black Figs, and the Sweet Caramels are on the way to me. Now it’s just a matter of determining how many of the other colorways I can justify purchasing. @@6ix835 Yeah - those dark camo ones were definitely calling my name! I’m going for the “Japan” protection pack first, and if I can’t get those for a decent price, I’m getting the dark camos for sure.

I swapped the white laces from this pair with the grey laces from the 2002r navy refined future, and it made both pairs look so much better imo. Love both pairs

I saw a pair of these in SIZE? Yesterday. I was not prepared for how prestige and perfectly manufactured they looked and didn't have just £110 quid on me to pick them up. They are really nice and the details are next level compared to what I'm used to. That retail price was shockingly good.

Just grabbed a pair of these at Livestock Winnipeg while I was there over the weekend. These are on another level in hand and on foot. The pics don’t do them justice.

Ever since I bought my phantom black in the protection pack, I have always loved to wear this. I usually wear 350 V2 and UB, but this style changed me. I need more 2002R. I am curious to try other 990s in diff version

top shelf review sean! u know it's heat when retailers hold stock for in-store then post remaining pairs online later. one of best CWs - versatile w/ diff tones in diff lighting conditions + toe box is more streamlined for diff fits + decent materials/build at that price pt. good $hit sean, bless

Does it run half size big compared to other 2002r? Heard some other reviewers saying go half size down

@@ajitgurung they fit true to size for me, but I have a kinda wide foot..they fit the same as compared to my protective pack pair! Actually more comfortable due to the softer padded tongue on this pair.

I’m not usually into black sneakers but I think they did great on this colorway. That being said I’m burgundy gang all the way, got the 🍷 colorway and may I say under retail ✌️

Missed the drop on the canadian site, hoping we get a restock at some point :( I share the almost exact same size foot as you. Your sizing guide has helped me enormously. Though I do find my protection pack mirage grey a touch loose I don't think I would size down. What is your prefered sizing in dunks vs sb dunks. 10 + 10.5 for the sb's ?

Nice vid! But ugh, I can't stand 2002Rs. They look like the new balances my dad wore in the 90's. Sean, can we start getting on to some more modern silhouettes soon? I'm so tired of all these "collabs" and just recycling things, with small incremental changes. Isn't there anything new and original coming from the manufacture?
