i just dropped 12k steps with the 990v5 and no foot fatigue at all. i feel like i can keep going. it's insane. if i get 8k steps with ultraboosts and infinity reacts i cant wait to take them off.
I have tried both pairs, but unfortunately the 992 I received was defective, as the sole was uneven on the right shoe, making it uncomfortable. So I just ended up sticking with the 990v5 and they are much lighter and seems to be built a little better. I do prefer the looks of the 992 more, but overall the 997 looks the best imo.
Great video, well constructed👌🏽. I own a pair of 992s in the maroon colorway, the dopest imo🥰. Still haven’t experienced the 990v5, but like you said there growing on me.
@@tcv030 They are so good right!? I bought 2 of the same, 1 as a beater and the other as a backup. I think it's almost time to replace my beater, once I do that I will most likely buy another pair as a replacement 😂
I got both. 992s are for the hypebeasts and fashion heads. If I want to be comfortable all day, nothing beats 990v5. IMO 990 v5 and v4 are the most comfortable shoes from New Balance.
I copped the 992s recently and they look great but they disappointed me in terms of comfort. Ive heard from multiple reviews that they were a tad bit less comfy than 990s but for me they were significantly less comfy than my 990s. The midsole foam is just so stiff I dont even think theyre more comfortable than 574s
I don't know what's wrong with me, but the 992 is the most uncomfortable sneaker I've ever worn - it's hard, my heels hurt in it and it's heavier than the B5. It's just some kind of disaster) but outwardly I really like them - so on the one hand, I will sell them with pleasure, but on the other, it will be a pity..
No worries man! The 990v5 comes with a better insole (softer) but they are not necessarily better for flat feet. However I still find it to be more comfortable with my orthotics when comparing to the 992. I’d definitely go to a good podiatrist to get a pair of orthotics done if you’re having flat feet problem.
@@TerryStyles Thank u. I'm thinking to buy 990v5, never wore this model, either 992. I will try it with "superfeet" insoles, if it won't work, then i will make custom insoles by podiatrist.
@@TerryStyles Thank u. Definitely i will try custom orthotics. Besides 990v5, what shoes do u recommend for everyday use to be useful with orthotics?. There are lot of shoes but not all is useful for orthotics, u know what i mean. For example, NB 574 may be good for many, but it didn't worked for me, heel is high and orthotics doesn't work well on this model. I have pain on ball of my feet when using NB 574, cuz it doesn't have enough cushion on forefoot.
@@RezoUI Tbh I'm not sure as I've been wearing my 990v5 for at least 80% of the time since I bought them and had the custom orthotics. But it's usually the wider shoes are better for me. If I were you, I'd go instore and try on the shoes with your orthotics.
Also one thing that I didn’t mention in the video, which is the durability of 990v5. I’ve been wearing them almost everyday to everywhere for like a year straight and they’re still in good shape! Haven’t tried with 992 though so can’t compare on this haha. But both pairs are definitely great!
@@TerryStyles I do think the durability on both should be good though. New balance really make some good stuff. I’ve done a few reviews with New Balance and I’ve said the same thing a few times.
Something no one mentions is that you can feel the absorb cushion in the forefoot and while it’s not uncomfortable, it’s always noticeable and it’s not as smooth as Nike air, so you can feel the edges of it and it’s not as smooth as the 990. That’s the biggest factor for me. Nice vide thanks!
