NB 991 is a really great sneaker. Obviously the UK factory can’t pump out 991v2 and 991v1 at once, so it’s better to put the 991 on ice for a while than send it out to China to be made or something. The 991 has its quirks but once broken in, all-day comfort is fantastic in these. The fact that I managed to buy the 991 in 6 different colorways from Winners and Marshalls in Canada for $99.99 each over the past year or so (they still have some right now!) is a sign that they might be less popular in the hypebeast world but I truly don’t mind at all! Incredible shoes for the price!
Sorry to see you didn't like this one, but I understand feeling underwhelmed this (might) be the end for the 991. It deserved a better send-off, but at least we have 991v2.
I am hopelessly addicted to the 991, so when I found a pair of these (with a discount), I bought them immediately. But I guess that the Finale version isn't any better or more luxurious than the other 991, so I think that the comments on craftsmanship and materials is not far off. But oddly enough the different 991 versions/colorways through they years have varied a lot regarding especially breathability and general comfort. This also goes for sizing; in some 991 models I use 9 1/2, in others I use 10. I have just tried a set of 991 v2, and I must say that my immediate reaction was disappointment. They look like 991, but the shape of the sole feels very different, giving the v2 a more "rolling" sensation where the 991 v1 is more flat. I won't say that the v2 is worse that the v1, it is just a very different sensation when walking. It feels more like the 990 (US) versions, which I really dislike for its sole curvature. So if you like the 991 v1, I really advise you to try the v2 before buying.I will probably have to make peace with the v2, but for now I will stick to the v1.
