Hi guys,
In today's video we're looking at the New Balance Fuelcell Rebel v2. Get ready for this shoe to be a huge success in 2021, it will be deserved.

I’m excited for this shoe! Especially because it will come in wide sizes. A lot of the hyped shoes - Endorphin Speed, Hyperion Tempo, Mach 4 - only come in standard widths (in the US) and I can’t handle the toe box. I usually run in Altras. Thanks for the cool preview 😎 I noticed you’re using a Stryd pod. Would love a video that explains how you incorporate the power data into your training 👍🏻

Brilliant shoe 4 Sunday long runs done in mine 52 miles my legs don't feel beaten up afterwards and can pick the pace up.

Finally got my shoes! Very nice upper and midsole. The outsole seems ok with decent rubber. However, I bet if you run slowly, particularly if you are a heel striker, they will be a bit unstable. I liked them a lot after 10 km... I am sure that midsole will not last really long and I do not think will even reach the 500km, but they feel so nice, I do not mind the reduced durability.

Great review! I would love to see a comparison video vs the Mach 4. I have been running in the Mach 4 for two weeks and really like the Mach 4. Would the NB rebel v2 be better than the Mach 4 at up tempo paces?

Thanks! 🙂 Duly noted, I will try to see what comparison is the most requested and do it first (but I feel it will be against the Mach 4!). Yes, Rebel may work better at higher paces I’d say - provided you don’t need extra stability when picking up the pace.

Alex. how does this NB Rebel 2 compare with the Puma Liberate Nitro? You loved the liberate so much. I have bought the Liberate and love it totally. You were right. thanks

Hi Tim! I am glad you are enjoying the Liberate - what a cool shoe indeed. Here things are a bit different, more cushion, more softness, a touch more energy return. Liberate has more ground feel which is missing nowadays with the trend going towards higher stacks. It is also more flexible/souple and has a better lockdown. Both shoes are fun and good surprises for me, but different approaches to fun I’d say! Hope this helps you 🙂

Are they Oakley Prism line? if yes, then are they any good for running? would really appreciate ur input!! Thanks!

Hi Siddharth, thanks so much and welcome 🙂 Yes these are Oakley Radar EV with Prism Road glasses. They have an excellent contrast and light blocking! They are lightweight and I really enjoy them a lot. Also it’s easy to swap the glasses and keep the frame, for less sunny days for instance.

Hi Gerardo and thanks for the nice comment! Endorphin Speed for me, rebel v2 is too plush for my liking and my biomechanics. Speed isn’t my favorite shoe but it does its job very well with consistency. Hope this helps 😉

hi alex- great review! i wnjoy running on these as well:) how does it compare with the invincible run? can it co exist in a 3 shoe rotation set up or are they similar?

Hi! Thanks a lot for the great question: the foams are actually "similar" in the sense that they're both on the soft and bouncy side of things. Now the purposes of the two shoes can differ and that's mainly due to the difference of weight and shape. I guess you can have both in the same rotation if you really like that type of ride :-)

@@AlexFilitti thanks for the response! do you have the same size for both rebel 2 and invincible run? i have the rebel 2 at size 9.5 2e with only a pinky space between longest toe to the end of shoe when standing up but it feels just right where as the 9.5 infinity run 2 feels too snug due to lack of width. Thinking now of what size for the invincible run to go with. thanks!

Compare to Propel v2? Maybe this Propel v2 is Rebel's training counterpart? I've heard though Propel running short...

is this the perfect replacement for pegasus turbo? I heard a lot about that from other reviewers...

Hi Bruno, thanks much for your comment! No it is not a replacement for the Pegasus turbo. This is way softer and plush than the turbo, and the upper is way less structured (especially if compared to turbo 1). While both could handle similar tasks and workouts, they don’t ride super close. Hope this helps

Hi Oliver, Good question! Liberate is lighter, more souple, has more ground feel and less cushion. Rebel is more plush on the landing (by far) but also has more energy return to it. Rebel is more versatile and while both are fun shoes to run in, I’d go Rebel personally! Hope this helps 🙂

Hey! I agree to a certain extent but the ride experience may be different, the upper is so light that even TTS works well and leaves a nice toe box volume at least for me. Going up half size may require a thicker sock and/or different insole - have you tried both options? Thanks for stopping by!

@@AlexFilitti hey! Yeah I ordered both and I couldn’t agree more, the feel of the TTS is a bit different, I may just keep both, the issue I have with TTS is my toe just about rubs on the outside of the upper on my right foot, super annoying more than anything
