No in Russia is very common to say when you doing something or it's still a long time to drive, or a long time to do, to wait, the autobus is late etc, so ppl say Geez is they coming from New York?( and not the Moscow, which is 100km away; for example). So of course he meant & thought that the ball is totally will be far from the line.

I play this every day with my kids groups..they love it..we call it who dares wins! If you past the baseline you are DQ..even their parents come on to play.. Good way to finish a lesson
