It's still a degenerate effect and I personally think it should be replaced entirely because effects like this have no place in the game, but this would at least require the lock to have an extremely fragile setup that usually wouldn't be worth the effort to pull off.

Me personally I’d add the errata that it can only get that effect if it’s summoned using Red Dragon Archfiend as material, that way you can’t leave the materials for Calamitys summon on the field to summon during the enemy turn since RDAs effect kills your monsters if you play him on turn 1

Yeah, or "if u summon it this way". Like ritual beast boss monster, insane boss with omni negate, not once per turn, but if u special summon it with winda effect, that boss monster dont have ability to omni negate

@metis7534 crimson dragon, in my opinion, is fine. The dragon synchro pool isn't as powerful as you'd think. Also, errataing him wouldn't be a good fix because there are generic rda synchros and engines like centur-ion and bystial could help rda consistently calamity lock. Getting rid of it is the best choice because having a card that can just turn skip is, as shown over and over again, too powerful

Certainly looking forward to seeing what I can cook with Odd-Eyes again. I also imagine Monkeyboard could also make for an interesting special summon package for any deck that can search him, too. Though I imagine the best it can be is to mitigate a Maxx "C" play

@shadowspector3611 I built pure stun fully expecting Konami to ban any of my pieces but they never do. They have a bizarre relationship with the game and the players. It's why my gamer tag in game is "blame Konami" because they could easily put an end to the turbo cancer decks and just don't. Kash, runick, tear, floo, they could fully kill off these decks but just refuse to. Same with pure stun. Seems like an easy ban but they let it rock. They have this weird philosophy about letting decks hang around forever.

@@bobby45825: It’s because bad players need them to compete. That’s not even salt talking. Dckayed explicitly said that yugioh is too complicated for new players to join so they need floodgate decks to even compete and it makes sense to an extent.

​@@bobby45825how is Runick a cancer deck? Pure Runick is very interactive and fun to play. If anything I want them to undo some of the hits because the Runick cards were never the issue, it was always the things paired with it. Especially for Naturia and Stun, those are the worst.

Lol calamity came out almost a decade ago. Old cards with broken effects aren’t the problem. New engines that make high level, broken cards super easy to summon with low-zero risk is the problem. Calamity was a newish symptom of a much bigger disease.

yeah, if it gets limited after Pyro monsters become useless or snake-eyes is restricted too much and falls out of meta, it would technically miss it's timing

I got Calamity locked on my livestream and someone in chat said “the dude like Solo Mode so much that he wanted to try it in Ranked.” Greatest comment ever.

I never used Calamity in T.G... Instead I tend to Accel Synchro Light/Dark Chaos Angel on rival's turn. But depending the situation I can also Accel Baronne or Chenying. Chaos Angel protects Glaive Blaster. You can Reset the Baronne for your next turn with Glaive Blaster. Chenying is the tricky since depends on having targets to banish with Glaive Blaster first to trigger Cheying.

We got the cipher, doubt they'll do another structurr deck for Galacy Eyes. The new pack might come later though,like a month, three or when the TCG gets the support

People hated the fact that Calamities shut down their wombo combo pile Decks and made violet cards called Traps a thing in the game again, same reason they hate Bird Floo, and especially Labrynth for bringing those violet cards back.

​@@autobotstarscream765 to be fair. Traps are just inherently poorly designed given the current state of yugioh. Do you really want a card type that is miles better going 1st to be prevalent in a game where going 1st is already an advantage? Yes yes, I know trap cards can be designed in such a way where this isn't the case but if you're changing the rules on how traps work, there's no point in making them traps now is there? They're a relic of a completely different era just like flip monsters and tribute summoning. They're mechanics that can still be used in modern yugioh but only after being modified to an extent that makes it feel less like a truly unique design and more like a gimmick. Floowandereeze may tecnicaly tribute summon but from my perspective it looks exactly like any other standard extra deck strategy but now the cards come from the main deck, which means nothing when you can search them regardless. Lab is complicated, I do like some aspects of the deck such as the turn 0 plays it has that were used to make the deck function going second, or the slow grindy gamwplay they promote. But I do not like the idea of having an archetype that can just search any* trap card in the game and I also don't like the idea of handrip effects. So I'd give Lab a solid 7,5/10 for their design efforts.

You realize Oak is only there to revive an additional monster when you use Flameberg on the opponent's turn? That's literally the reason why it's played. Banning Poplar is WAY better. Even limiting it will be a surefire hit

Hopefully Heavy Storm will never be unbanned. The animation was made only for people that wanted to play with the card in privated duel rooms.

@user-nn6ow3xt5o the tear downplayers are the manifestation of cancer. Thankfully Konami will never give them what they want. It's actually more annoying they don't hit the rest of the tear cards and free the collateral damage cards like Terraforming and instant fusion.

Let's say Pachinkomoney decided to make the next format around pretending Tear never happened, so they ban every single Tear card ever made in all 3 formats (TCG, OCG, MD) and just completely remove them from the franchise without hitting any strays like Visas Starfrost or Kashtira Tearlament that are related but made for other Decks, to see what they can free in every format like when Halqifibrax and Friends finally went away (TCG just banned the last survivor of that family, Borreload Savage Dragon, it is now a format where Halqifibrax is retconned out of the game completely) and dozens of cards were unbanned. What are all the cards that get freed, in all 3 formats, in a world without any Tearlaments anywhere whatsoever?

Tear and Kash players act like their decks are completely unplayable because they have to actually try when playing.

Chimera is a ton of fun, but it’s heavily nerfed by being released after full powered SE. Maybe it will be better whenever MD gets Nightmare Apprentice
