NEW BAND-MAID!! - FORBIDDEN TALE - REACTION 

Forbidden Tale is not just a great song... it's a marathon ! So many journeys packed into one song. Much like Corallium in it's complex magnificence !

I would hate to be the unlucky person who is stuck driving behind me while I listen to this song in the car. Slowing down, speeding up, slowing down, speeding up. They would be a tad upset with me, I imagine. Love this song, I love all the new songs on the new album. I think it might be my favorite album of theirs, but I have to give it time. Make sure it's not just the newness of it. Great reaction, and hope you guys stay safe, and untroubled from the hurricane!

Kanami composed this song after a death in the family and recently posted the following concerning its creation: "What is “life?", “being alive?” etc. I produced this song with the biggest theme in the history of BAND-MAID. A lot has happened over the past three and a half years. It made me think. What does it mean to live? Is there such a thing as heaven? How was your life like? Were you happy along the way? The proof you lived, If I could represent your life with this song... as such, I included such a message, I created this song in the hope of leaving a song of what I think of “life” is. I did not talk to the vocalist SAIKI about the theme in depth, but the lyrics brought tears to my eyes. Getting to know BAND-MAID and I will be happy if this song will remain in your heart." Saiki wrote the lyrics and had told Kanami that she wanted a song with a lot of progression. Akane said she didn't want to make it sound too cluttered by putting too many notes in it and MISA tried to keep the song sounding simple. It is a song without a solo and is more about the band being a whole with all putting in the same amount of content and not having (for once) individual moments to display their skills. Lots of tempo changes though and the MV is a work of art, especially the many uses of different lighting effects. This is the 7th MV from the album (the previous 6, released over the past 4 months, are MAGIE, PROTECT YOU, SHAMBLES, MEMORABLE, SHOW ME & BESTIE) so there's unlikely to be more but I hope they make an MV of the final song on the album, GET TO THE TOP, an instrumental. (OK, and all the other songs too!) La Gringa needs a rose for the headdress - Miku's is red, Saiki's is blue!

I think this one may be my new current favorite from the Maids!! Miku stepping up even more! AWESOME!!!

This is a masterpiece of a Band-Maid song. In its complex musical structure, these changes, its melodic beauty (and you can't hear everything Kanami plays), and the depth of the philosophical lyrics written by Saiki. A word about the quality of the MV which is visually magnificent and which accompanies the song perfectly, which is not common for a video. Thanks Jimmy and the Gringa.

From a Band-Maid interview on Barks. Saiki talks about her lyrics, and we thought Miku was the only philosopher in the band. "SAIKI: Every day, I realize the wonderfulness of music, but when I was researching the history of music, I realized that there were songs that were forbidden to sing or stories that were forbidden to tell a long time ago. You found out. But now, there is a reality that there is an opportunity to restore it with modern technology and listen to it, and that stories that were once forbidden can now be read. So, in other words, I realized that art is something that never disappears, and I thought it was very romantic and how beautiful it was. Then, as KANAMI said, "What is life?" While asking questions, "What will happen if you express your life with music?" When I thought about it, I thought that "living" meant "we are here now". Even if our bodies disappear, I wrote it with the hope that someone might one day connect this music. While thinking that I hope that our music will remain in the future. I think it would be great if people in the future, who can't know BAND-MAID, for example, knew about the existence of this song and the music would push someone's back. I'm also experiencing that kind of thing. Aren't there many musicians who were no longer in this world when I fell in love with music? But I have been encouraged by their music, taught me the beauty of music, and pushed my back, so I hope I can do that someday, so I wrote these lyrics."

I keep trying to say something but keep hitting the cancel. I don't know what I want to say except it takes many listens to like the song more and more. A special song for the people that died in the hurricane and the survivors that love and miss them. Love bridges all and is unstoppable.

At least the latest forecasts call for it to weaken before land fall. 🤞🙏 As for "Forbidden Tale", oh my...an Epic song from an Epic album! And what a Narrative it is! Great reaction. This song does get you going and the transitions are amazing. Catches everyone off guard. Band-Maid doing Band-Maid things...🤣 I can't wait for "The One" to have a MV. Tequila Jimmy and Gringa, great seeing both of you again. I jokingly say it took The Who and entire album to produce the "rock opera" Tommy. With "Forbidden Tales" it only took Band-Maid four and a half minutes to do the same damned thing!!!!!! I hope you both get the opportunity to react to "Letters To You" and "The One" from the same album. They are my two favorite songs from the album.I hope they make an official live video or official music video of both songs. Gringa, Kleenex alert. Have them ready when you react to "The One"!

So many great songs from the Maids and this is their best one yet! Saiki is a formidable lyricist. Kanami is a mad genius. I hope you guys stay safe and hunkered down w/o much damage. That storm seems like a mean one

The songs already released earlier in the year are just Band-Maid awesomesauce! The six new songs are so tightly integrated and complex, it's going to take a Tokyo minute to assimilate. But I already love Forbidden Tale, and especially The One. 😉🤘 btw - We should all wish a "Good Luck" to Band-Maid's new self-run management company: Maidit, Co., LTD! Will they managing other bands, boost Cluppo and Maiko projects, or tour more internationally? Or maybe they will expand their business interest to other sectors of the music biz outside of Band-Maid. I believe Kanami wants to get more into composing, scoring and production. And as for Miku and Saiki, the sky's the limit for what they'll want to do in merch, fashion and art, etc.. Thx, Jimmy & Gringa!

Hey you 2 ReactaMacs (Reacting Maniacs) I love the content you guys are putting out, you usually find some really great stuff and it's appreciated. If you need the link again please let me know, the song is that's damn rock and roll featuring Lzzy Hale. Diversion from the CMA awards is the best version of that, I think you both love it. And in the spirit of Lovebites, here are some fun facts about them that you may not have known yet. 1) in one song miako does not play any guitar, that song is Spellbound. My house yes you guys check out the live version of that because it's amazing. 2) there are two songs in which the girls were all black for the video. Braveheart short version is Famis intro video for the band and No Time To Hesitate is the second time they wore all black. 3) Bravehearted was wrote by Haruna and I believe it's the only song they have ever done in Japanese on a record. 4) Asami is a classically trained ballerina and came to the states to be professional, she was told she was not tall enough and resumed her musical career. She is also come to the states to play live with Halestorm for the song Love bites and so do I. As always you two are some of the best in the business out there and coffee is coming to you courtesy of the old coach.
