NEW Barbie Color Reveal, Bratz, Mermaze Mermaidz & More! (July 2022) 

My sister who is 5 preferred my old Barbie early 2000’s dolls over the newer ones and I asked her why. She said their hair felt nicer and she liked the articulation. And I’m like this is why toy companies can’t keep making excuses about “it’s for children” for cutting corners. 💀💀

The new Barbie’s just give tacky and childish and Ik ppl will be like “well they’re for children” and it’s like, you can make clothes and have it geared toward children and still be childish, like the lol tweens are a perfect example, idk who does the fashion designs on the Barbie design team but they need to be fired idk

I really want Dream Ella, Bratz and Rainbow High to do well so that Barbie gets a run for her money. Mattel has been seriously cheapening the dolls. I don't like these new Barbies and I feel bad for the next generation of kids who will be growing up with these tacky Barbies.

I personally am completely in love with Mermaze Mermaidz. I think they're just beautiful dolls, I'm not bothered about the tails as I stand them up and display them so you don't see the bottom part anyway. I love their faces and long fantasy coloured hair. I only have two so far, and I need all of these from the second wave. My poor purse!

I totally agree with what you said about Mermaze Mermaids! Their fin shapes look impossible to swim with, and it’s basically Rainbow High but underwater :’)

I wouldn’t blame the designers but the company. Designers have to create designs that fits the company’s vision for the brand. And initial designs almost always gets rejected or change drastically. Ultimately, it’s the company that makes the final decisions not the designers.

Barbie actually did release that restaurant about 2 years ago. This one is just a recolor with some extra dolls

I feel the same exact way about the Mermaze Mermaidz. I was SO excited for them, but I got one, and was done. So, so cheap feeling - for 30+ usd!! WAY too much for her to be hollow and have hair that falls out when you touch it.

The Mermaze Mermaidz Dolls look SO cool in real life - the glitter, colours, Details, fantasy coloured looong glittery hair etc. I was really looking at them like ⭐️O⭐️ I donno what it is but they are just SO fascinating to look at & I was soo considering to buy one (even thou I am a grown up) 😂 I love Rainbow High so I wish Rainbow High would pick up on those magical glittery colours✨ But my Boyfriend was like “omg, pure kids those dolls look like literal who*, its so tacky….” & I was like why? and he explained that its the way they are dressed - with their belly showing, the tights, curves, poses etc. (he meant rainbow high dolls & mermaze dolls etc.)

They are also re releasing Kiana and Ooh La La Kumi!!

so happy theyre making a new isabella doll. both the isabella dresses have details and designs and layers i thought would be perfect for doll fashion but theyre just printed on so whats the point.

I agree about the Extra dolls. The one in Green does have a pretty face sculpt, though.

Instead of the mermaize car they should have done a mermaid grotto playset. I think the grotto would have been a big hit with everyone and would have helped to drum up interest for the dolls

I was thinking that too about the mermaids in a car. They should come with removable tails that reveal legs. Not sure if they do but just saying. Also I love the Barbie Extra in the blue and pink. Love her hair and her shoes. She's gorgeous.

Your comment about the Mermaze car had me laughing! I totally agree with what you said. Why does a mermaid need a car?!? And how the heck does she drive it?!? I don’t like that line they are just too creepy to me. I’m not overly impressed with the new Barbies either. Very cheap and no creativity in the clothes. The designers should be fired.

Congrats on reaching 50k subs! 💕 Out of all of the doll lines mentioned on this line, the mermaid ones are such a very weird line, not unique but weird. They're trying hard to make it so messy looking it's not doing it well for me. For the Bratz reproduction, agree. I mean, I know they wanted to make them so the Bratz fans could get tje ones that they don't have and it's fine, but you know... leave it where it is. It's okay to do once or twice but not many times. For Barbie, definitely no to the Color Reveal. Definitely a no-no for the new Cutie Reveal, the screenings on the first wave are fantastic but they downgraded it on the other waves which is sad. The new Extras, prolly the most cohesive wave that I have seen and would like to get them on sale and I actually like the purple hair the most which is ironic since it's your least fave lol 🤣

The DreamElla dolls are getting a bit better but change the faces. I know these new Barbie Extra dolls will have that nasty azz poly hair. But those eco dolls are cheap, sorry. The DreamElla Celebration dolls should’ve had a different outfit instead of the same outfits. I don’t like the Mermaze dolls.

Don't like them except for the Bratz, and only hope to get a couple of those. I haven't been happy with Barbie for several years, and I can't stand some of the color combinations; especially red and yellow together Ugh! Lately I've been interested in Rainbow and Shadow High. They seem to have better quality than most dolls I've seen this year. See you soon hon :)

How strange we used to do the same things are used to go every weekend or any day I was off school and go to Woolworths in Camden Town where I’m from and my brother is gay and always loved Barbies to but he was three years older I am a transgender woman and dolls have been my whole life especially anything mermaid Ariel splash anything that has mermaids on it I have and I’ve seen and I have collected so much dolls in boxes out of boxes but all my 1997 ariel dolls I have double staff that are in boxes from Siepel to picnic aerial and Eric to the wedding or just aerial in her wedding dress alone I have everything even the miniature dolls that are very rare to buy that have hair the wedding set the door where she is the mermaid everything we are so similar x

I normally don’t comment but I am so surprised with some of the comments about the new mermaze doll I think they’re absolutely beautiful and about time we had a beautiful looking doll instead of all these ugly big headed big ugly eyed dolls plus they’re completely different and it’s nice that they’re not following the normal theme just surprised people are open-minded about something different otherwise how do we get change with dolls but I know we’ve all got an opinion but if they don’t push the boundaries and do something different we have the same type of dolls all the time which would be so boring but to be honest I think outside the box a lot I like things a bit more edgy and I do understand people tend to be a bit more on the safe side and can’t understand things that are slightly different maybe it’s just a personality thing

when i first heard about the color reveal dolls i thought they were gonna be actual mysteries like they make a bunch of accessories and shirts and stuff and its randomized which ones you get. a TRUE mystery box. so in a way everyone gets a slightly unique doll. in hindsight it wouldnt have been very likely but i am disappointed. isnt it kinda pointless do do a mystery reveal when you can tell by the images on the box which doll you have and how it will change?

Agree with you in the mermaze dolls their tails are the biggest reason I won’t buy them they’re so off putting the barbie dreamtopia mermaid dolls have molded on tails too but they’re much more nicer to look at also not a fan of their looks some dolls look ok while other look too garish for me

I guess I have a hard time trusting them to make new Bratz that can hold a candle to the old ones. The only thing I really want them to improve is the face screening..

Out of all the dolls that you brought up in this video, the only ones that I'm remotely interested in are the Barbie extras and that's when they go on sale! But they look to me to be on the positive side of quality, but I agree with you I wish the more Barbie lines were this quality. I was just mentioning how I missed that Barbie used to have themes and name their lines and name their characters. That's why I've been falling for Steffi Love so badly lately?!!

I really wish Mattel would take a long break from the Millie face sculpt 😒 Most Barbie collectors don’t even like that sculpt because we associate that sculpt with the decline of Barbie’s quality because that’s basically the only face sculpt they have used for the past ten years, and it’s on everything- from playline to collectors it’s like they want us to buy the exact same doll 100 times over and over again 🙄 so boring and it’s not happening

Definitely interested in that Barbie Extra in the dark blue and pink. And I'm slowly gaining interest in collecting more Bratz dolls, so I might grab a repo or two. The guy that created the body of the Bratz dolls now work for mattel and stated that bratz can not use his design for new dolls anymore only to rerelease! If they were to create new dolls like they did around 2015 they would have to use that new hideous body or make a new one! The stuff i wrote might not be 100% accurate because it was a while ago i heard about this but all i know is that its something like this and thats the reason Bratz are rereleasing dolls and not making new ones cause the new dolls were awful

I mean one of the charms of barbie that brought her her fame was the fact that she was supposed to emulate the young adult woman little kids looked up to or wanted to be. Later on she would become more glamorous with even the profession dolls becoming more colorful and unrealistic to irl professionals but it worked. I think now they are trying to blend both ideas together while also trying to please conservative parents and more liberal parents while also trying to implement current fashion trends and its just not working at all. The one doll with with the leopard print pants is the only doll I've seen so far that I would actually buy and I want to see more dolls like that one. Mattel needs to make a decision on what there branding is going to be because riding in the diversity train (the only positive change they've made to the doll) is only going to get them so far
