Here's how a new Millbrae housing and transit community could provide solutions to Bay Area's biggest problems. abc7ne.ws/3ArwnPS #housing #transportation #development #news #abc7news
I drive by this whenever I go towards SFO, and I absolutely love it. A great step towards urbanism and getting people out of cars. Not sure I'm for the hotel. I think more housing would've been more preferable, but hey. Still happy with it overall.
This is a good start, every single city in the Bay Area should be inspired by this development and embrace the concept. A lot of work is yet to be done though.
This is awesome - a ton of housing, shops, and hotels all within walking distance of a train station. Plenty of well-paying jobs in biotech as well. The mixed-income component is great as well - it avoid the mistakes of the "projects" by mixing low-income housing with market-rate housing. Stuff like this should be constructed on every strip mall and suburban office park.
I've been hearing these scams for ten years and it just slowly became worse here. I think after a couple more years of economic crisis SF will finally be set for changes. It needs to hit bottom before it can invest without bandaids.
Ah we forget that area was low income Hispanic, Polynesian, and some white. It had about 50 units possibly more. If they tear down the apartments around Helen Drive you will hear a similar story about 25% lower income units. You have to stop the drop at the bottom Lomita Park School Alum.
people like you are the reason the entire local community has been cleared out, if we don't build more housing the existing houses will just be slowly sold to the highest bidder
Grew up in Millbrae. Seen a lot of developments of which never sure where that money went…BART and Caltrain did bring in some homeless people though. The new Gateway development looks nice but at the same time is so high it blocks scenic areas of the town…
