Definitly one of your best battles in ages, With two of my favourite armies. Really still can't believe some of the crazy twists and outcomes, especially with the tree lord in that mad 1v4. Keep up the good work guys.
@@WargamerShawn I'm the first to point out when they get rules wrong but you do have to give examples usually. Also have yet to find a youtube channel that never gets any rules wrong. This may just not be the channel for you.
Missed a few rules for the awakened wildwoods, you can't draw line of sight through a awakened wildwood. The awakened wildwood is comprised of all 3 tree models so you can't shoot into them either. Also at the end of the charge phase you roll dice for non-sylvaneth units within 1 inch of the awakened wildwood and on 6s they take d3 mortal wounds.
That was defo the greatest game I've seen on this channel hands down. (and I e watch them all) being a Sylvaneth player and my new army I'm building (the ogors) I loved it. What a game. More of that please. More Sylvaneth n ogors as well. Great job both players. (though I do believe the sylvaneth player missed some vital realmroots movement)
@@jarradbarrick1698 think was it turn 4 or 5 where I thought you would have moved the dryads to the next wood to try and get more models round the objective? I could be wrong but if you did wouldn't you have got the points which would have had you won the game. (some excellent save thought man and you did us sylvaneth players a good showing). 🤟🏼
Liam Alford turn 4 And 5 I managed to score the objective. The key point that I could have won was on turn 3 when I brought in my 20 dryads and failed the charge. Maybe I could have slipped a hero into that space so I could reroll that charge but I was barely able to get the dryads in. At the end my dryads where better served to make a 7” move and get closer than teleporting to 9” away.
Loved the game - great to see BCR back being competitive again. Game serves as a great AoS lesson to always play the objective not your opponent - Matt - you should've canned the Dryads with the Frostlord all day long to stop the 3 point swing in T4...…….. great report though
Matt, It's probably just an available model thing but if you plan on trying more BCR you should really give a Frost Lord on a Stonehorn with Ethereal Amulet and Black Clatterhorn Mount Trait. ;)
@@miniwargaming A fair choice, but Frostlord on Stonehorn is always the way to go vs. the Thundertusk. For 10 points more, the damage output is so much better. Thundertusks may have their place, but it's not really in the kind of combat that a Frostlord wants to be.
@ 1:30:30 Why wouldn't the navigate the realm roots be considered a set up? "Instead of a normal move" to me reads as give up the ability to make a normal move/retreat and are allowed to make a set up? Later in the text it even says "remove that unit from the battlefield and then SET IT UP again wholly within 6" of another awakened wyldwood and more than 9" from an enemy." He should be able to shoot and charge after that set up.
Thanks! And we looked further into the FAQ later and found out that you can indeed leave combat with that option. However, he decided that his best chance of victory was to stay in combat and kill the monster instead.
At around 59:43 Matt did move the Monsters across the Wyldwoods as if they could fly. Is this allowed in a competitive game? If not, there would be little to no way for stonehorns or thundertusks to move through those trees..
We always agree beforehand that larger base models can move through, assuming no other models or terrain would block them. We still try to move around the actual trees though.
I've just gotten into this game and I'm already having serious issues with the summoning rules, let's both start with 2,000 points each but one person ends up with 3000 by the end of the game. Seems legit.
For most armies it isn't too bad, and the balance feels right. Some armies (such as Slaanesh) seem to be able to get their summoning points far too quickly. What you saw in this battle report was definitely good. Just think about how one sided it would have been without the summoning and you'll see how they try to balance the points values of each army. Not that Age of Sigmar (or any complicated miniature wargame) can really be well balanced...
@@miniwargaming I'm playing Ironjawz and my list has no summoning, it would feel more fair if I had some (playing gore gruntah army and did very well in a tourney with only 4 games under my belt, 2 of 3 won and the last lost only because I didn't know skinks could step out of combat onto an objective) but it doesn't so that may be giving me my feel badsies. Personally I wish it only allowed you to summon basic battle line rather than demon princes or anything from lizzies outside of slaan.
Wow, they really boned the Thundertusk. The Ice attack was the only reason I took him, so he may be coming out of my list. I do like much of what else I am seeing though. I should be getting my Battletome this week so I am looking forward to seeing what else has been changed. :)
I see little reason to take one over a Stonehorn. There's some points differences (Frostlord is 10pts more on Stonehorn while Huskard is 20pts more on Thundertusk) but really not enough to change my decision making on that.
@@theangler1922 Matt did take that on his Thundertusk. The mistake he made is that Thundertusks need to be used defensively, like you suggest. They're more of a support unit than a frontline combat unit.
Thundertusks just ain't worth the points especially the frostlord version. However Frostlord on stonehorn is pretty epic when combined with Ethereal Amulet!
