I finished whole "new beetle restore" series. I've had a hankering to rescue one of these cars, but wow! that Timing Belt replacement is not for the faint of heart. Thank-you for posting. Maybe I'll muster the courage one of these days. Great vids! Thank-you for posting.

I did it out of necessity. And, I can't see paying someone to do something I could do for myself. I guess that makes me cheap. But better to be cheap and easy... or is that the other way around?

you can partially peel that red tape off and fold it back 180 degrees and leave a small bare spot of sticky to start it, once it's line up pull that red tab of tape you made.

Eventually, I will. My son has it at college right now. Otherwise, I would have already had it done. I am thinking dark blue with white of black racing stripes... what do you think?

DIY saves you a lot of cash. It really does not take much, except the will and a little patience. I've saved thousands of dollars over the years doing things for myself whenever I can. I also learn a great deal about the car, too! WIN!

Yeah, it all depends on the design of the car. Not many are like yours… you got lucky, I guess. I think my F350 is like yours, too. But the wife’s Toyota van sticks on the outside, just like in this video.

I just pulled my TDI Beetle into the garage today... I need to take a look at that turbo. I think it is froze up/toast. So... more to come. 😀

I just love these little cars. So much fun... fast-ish for what they are. They are a poor mans Porsche. As I often say, I may be cheap, but I'm not easy.
