New Beretta Model 80X Cheetah Gun Review 

Berreta’s open slide 92 and 80 are two of the absolute most beautiful semiauto handguns ever designed IMO.

That's just a good looking gun.

Not just for woman. The barrel length optimizes ballistics for this round vs all the pocket 380s

I just bought one and i fkn love it. Its my first gun actually.. i shot it at the range just a couple of days ago! My first time shooting actually, super accurate, minimal recoil. Absolutely fantastic gun.

Been wanting this one since it was announced. Classy looking and has all the features I’m looking for. I even like the all black version more than the bronze.

I carry 9mm and 10mm in the woods and 380 for conceal. One thing I really like about shooting 380 is they are simply not as LOUD as the other calibers, not to mention the lower recoil and smaller gun relatively. I look forward to picking up the model 80X and checking it out. Thanks for another excellent video.

I’ve always been a fan of the Beretta Cheetah series. I currently own the 81BB and the 87BB. I’d love to add a .380 to the collection. Very glad to see Beretta bring back the Cheetah.

These Guns are awesome. My GF picked one up and it’s a pleasure to shoot. If you’re a fan of the 92’s your love this 80X Cheetah.

I have an 85f and it is fantastic. I love the decocker for safer concealed carry.

This is right up my alley. My EDC is a G42, and I plan for it to be the only plastic fantastic I have. I prefer .380 in compacts/subcompacts because it shoots better than 9, less recoil and quicker/more accurate follow-up shots which IMO outweighs any minor ballistic difference. This Beretta would be a nice higher-end piece to compliment the Glock while keeping ammo continuity.

Haven't been able to stop thinking about this since its release earlier this year, such a beautiful gun. Definitely gonna be my new EDC!

First pistol I ever bought to carry when I turned 21 was an 84F... 30 some years ago... Loved that gun! (it had the checkered walnut grips ;) )

I got my model 84 fix from a $75 dollar tanfoglio gt380 off of gunbroker just recently. Didn't expect much from that handgun given tanfoglio's reputation back in the 80's, but it's all steel and shoots straight and very well. Might of waited a bit for this new beretta, but for $75 It's a great look-a-like for the older 84's

Looks like it’s going to be a winner. Especially with the newer 380 ammo now which is very capable for self defense. Hope they will make checkered walnut grips for it. That would look great

Nice looking pistol, appears to run very well also. I'm hardcore 1911, but always keep a few Berettas 92FS,96 Inox, Tomcat.32acp. Simply by design alone they're a stake your life on it pistol. They run period.This 80x your showing me is very intriguing. Thanks for a good demo. A bigger frame means more control and the.380 acp round doesn't phase me , Buffalo Bore markets a nasty 380+P.👍

Sootch, I love your reviews. They are thorough, they are concise & to the point. I find that my own reactions are very similar to yours. I trust your reviews, and was anxious to hear your take on this one! .380 is my preferred round, and has been for a couple decades now. I have had an 84BB, a BDA, an 85F (still have it) , a Bersa Firestorm, Bersa Thunder (still have it), LCP MAX (daily pocket carry) and recently picked up the Security 380. And I will likely pick up an 80X at some point in the future, dont know what I'm gonna trade for it just yet but that bridge aint here yet! I agree that .380 has the potential for a less recoil option, unfortunately blow back, most commonly used in .380, does NOT lend itself well to lower recoil. A 200 round session with my Bersa or my 85F can be a bit punishing! I'm glad to hear that the recoil spring has been touched to lighten up that recoil. Anxious to see/feel that for myself. To me, the recoil on the LCP MAX is much lighter that of my Bersa or my 85F. A 200 round session will not leave me nearly as sore as the Bersa or the 85F. Moving on, the recoil on the Security .380 is virtually non-existant. I liken it to the recoil from a .22 MAG. Its a pleasure to shoot! And the light rack slide is almost too easy to operate compared to my other .380's! As to the sizing of the 80 series Cheetah's, conceal carry maybe (not for me), I prefer strong side carry, leather with thumb break. I believe it was Chris from Lucky Gunner who coined the phrase "duty size". I like that phrase and I believe that its accurate due to the fact that the vast majority of the 80 series imports have come from police dept's and/or prisons. Overall, I am excited to hear about this new model, I am likley to get one soon. I believ that the price tag will keep alot of folks away, but for those of us Beretta fans, who also like .380, we are willing to look past that price tag! I wonder what it would look like with Beretta wooden grips???

I'd like to get my hands on one of these. I've got an 84bb and it's fantastic. Although I do miss not having a decocker on it like my 92fs has. Glad to see that Beretta incorporated that into the 80x. Also I hope to see .380 ammo come down in price a little bit.

Great review ! I definitely plan on getting this. Huge improvements. Terrific double action pull weight, swappable sights, improved grip, better magazines. It will feel so good in my hands having the metal frame.

I have a Tisas Fatih 13 (licensed clone of the Beretta 84). I prefer the curved backstrap versus the straight backstrap on the 80x. Everything else that is new on the 80x is a definite improvement.

Love the frame mounted safety. That would be a good size 9mm.

Thank you for your excellent review!!! i have a few Berettas, and they are my favorites. I have two Model 84F pistols. They are beautiful and are a dream to shoot, even with self defense bullets. I think that this updated version looks beautiful as well, and has some advantages for self-defense. I am adding it to my wish list!

I think Beretta is wrong to market this as a female shooters gun. Every guy I shoot with wants one of these, including myself. A badass Beretta that’s more edc friendly than a 92x centurion or compact? Sign me up. 380 will get the job done too. This is a beautiful pistol for everyone.

I love all things Beretta. I have an original "84" B pre-Cheetah naming,.. well a Cheetah. True Blued pistol 13 + 1 capacity. I absolutely love it ! To me carrying a .380, the more barrel the better for ballistics & accuracy. I'm an old fart now & have been a concealed carry holder for over 25 yrs & I carried one illegally before that. I still find I have no need for any lights or gadgets on a carry piece, they just make the firearm harder to conceal & basically useless 50% of the time,... carry a flashlight in your pocket, eazy peazy. This is an absolutely gorgeous pistol & the upgrades are great, Beretta is boss. But I'll still be carrying my old "84" B. it's sooo much better looking. When you're on a fixed income you'll find u just can't get every new gizmo when the same older pistol you have works perfectly every time. But I do love the take down on this pistol.

As someone who has developed arthritis in both hands, I'm considering this Beretta - along with the Ruger Security 380 - for my next purchase. This all-metal 80X looks a lot more appealing than the Ruger, but, of course, it's more expensive (we don't know the "street price" yet).

This is the gun I am the most excited about from Shot Show!

I recently purchase one of these and I love it. It wasn't cheap but it is well worth it.

Good recoil, good size, good capacity, AND sexy as hell like the 92.... This gun is HOT.

This is very interesting pistol. With that said, I think a PX4 compact in 380 would have been better.

The grip of my 92x RDO Compact is shorter but the mag holds 15 and in 9mm, I do like the decocker on the frame though... I'd love a comparison video. 👍👍

Love Berettas and that 380 looks great. It reminds me of the classic look of pistols from the 80s. I’ll probably have to get one.

I have mine on order, just the black version. I got a surplus Cheetah and fell in love with the size of it, already loving the 92 and not being able to carry it as it's too big. This size is maybe the second best sized gun after the 19. I love the concealability, the grip, and all these upgrades. I was hoping it would be 9mm 12+1, but for most things defense, the 380 will do it.

While I do want one of these, the 92X Compact is a much better buy for the price and is 9mm while being basically the same size.

Most ppl say 380 isn't strong enough, but I don't see any of them willing to take a couple rounds to prove it. Fact is 380 has filled a lot of graves. Beautiful firearm & great video 👍👍

Baretta drooped the ball they should have made it in 32 as well. 😢 a 32 with 16 rounds and optics ready would have been pretty sweet!

Nice gun man, Beretta always do excellent pistols, the 92FS is the proof about it, keep strong man, we are living bad times in the entire world. I wish i could keep my faith, but it's very hard, i believe that God exists, but i have some doubts if he is so powerful.
