I got mine out today. Steers great and is smooth, just no air control at all. I think someone needs to make some taller roof sliders so they hit before the sides of the body. I will upgrade it over time so I can go faster and do some sends haha. I did not think it would be a huge air truck anyway. I really wanted to just bash around at higher speeds. I have trucks for big air already. I hope people understand that before they one then complain. My video will drop tomorrow morning. I did some decent airs at my new pit spot. Great video Earl.
Extreme bashing is different then normal bashing your watching guy whole fully modified there rc and destroy the rc for views 😳 normal ppl won’t spend that kind of money but it fun to watch people do that 🤣
Add a bunch of washers, or better yet; some thick lexan cut to the same outline of the roof sliders. Install the washers or lexan underneath the roof skids.......increase the length of the screws that hold the roof skids on........that will raise your skids to the desired height above the body.
Haha my xlx2 just blew up and it was 4 runs in never went over 4 inch jumps. Starting to re evaluate this rc thing wr all have haha this I love earl!! Real talk man!!! Happy turkey day be safe and rock on lol
You got your car fixed or is that a new one? The Spektrum packs fit of course lol. Mine is not bolted in the front either on that ring under the body. I like it I know the lack of air control (meaning you cant flip it) wont be for everyone I do wish it would wheelie maybe turning up the punch will help I am doing that next run. I do wish more companies would give more thought on reenforcing the expensive bodies. So far I am happy with it did you notice from the factory they have the back shocks tightened down way more than the front?
This bad boy or the Kraton 6S EXB are what are killing me right now. Love my K4S so I'm leaning toward this to have some variety but man that ExB for the same price is TEMPTING
For me what I do not like with the Kraton 6s is the rear wing mount, if you land unlucky it pulls out the screws and it messes up the Diff house/ Bulkhead..But still I love the Kraton :)
Earl, do think we will ever get anything from Arrma other than just another version of one of their truggies with a different body and a new name? Such as an actual monster truck? Maybe a 1/5 scale 8S Mojave, or just something that is interesting at all? I mean we keep asking for bigger, bigger Mojave, bigger Limitless, and they keep making them smaller. First they did the Vendetta, and now the 4S Mojave, even though we already have a Senton that is just a bit smaller, and you can already easily run 4 to 6S on? I really dig the New Big Rock body, but it’s basically a Fireteam without the handbrake.
I’m not sure seems arrma is stuck but we can hopefully get a new design one day as with all brands sometime it takes sales to dye down to get them to improve
@G35 Geesh. Other than keep my Traxxas TRX 4 Crawlers, I am also moving away from Traxxas. Driving up and down the street, i could not stop my Slash from breaking driveshafts and much more. Then the Maxx also broke drive shafts every 3 runs, then the motor and esc needed to be replaced twice. I have had a Losi XXL 2E for years, NO PROBLEMS! 2 HPI Savage XL's, NO PROBLEMS, and an Arrma Senton 6s and now a Fireteam. Arrma is Built like a tank! Yes, Traxxas has a lot more parts available, but i wonder if that is by design. Cheap parts on the rc trucks, replacement parts readily accessible, and they make more profit by forcing the consumer to replace their cheap parts with replacement parts. Brilliant business model if it is the case, but I'll stick with the ARRMA's from now on. Great video review of the Big Rock, I'll be buying one.

Your more then welcome to buy one yourself in no way did I want to trash an rc any rc car sending it way up in the air untested! This platform been around a long time I’ve done it already and showed they don’t last , arrma in no way added light to an rc car to make it a send it rc car , if that was this rc car it wouldn’t have a light kit on the body that easily damageable .Arrma own words where all surfaces that doesn’t include airspace lol but your more then welcome to try 💯

Exactly I didn’t watch Earl yet but everyone saying no air control, it’s geared very low and they put harder compound rubber and they needed it , you can’t go over 40 without ripping the others . These look great arrma have great bashing tires . Only some prolines are comparable, happy thanksgiving 🦃
Definitely needs a super tune. Some different weights, less holes in the shock pistons, heavier springs? Something, that back slap looks like it would be a real hindrance

$699.00 for a better made body !? The whole dog gone thing should have PREMIUM EVERYTHING for that cost !!! And it should be tougher than an anvil ! My grandmother drives harder than that when she is going to church !
Great review, very objective and driven in a manner that I'll be driving mine. I get tired of seeing reviews from "experts" who have never even seen the truck never mind driven one. I've just received my big rock 6s today and it is my first rc vehicle and hoping to get it all ready for a test run this weekend. I doubt I'll be disappointed despite all the expert naysayers. No rc whether it flies, floats or drives does it all.
Why spend all that money if u not going to do what's it meant to do the truck is made to go 65 mph out the box it don't perform at 20 mph n u will never feel the rush 🤷🏿♂️
Be nice to get roller options, how many dam remotes can one have😂 the aluminum bulkheads and updates are nice . I’m not sure why it’s not version 5 and have a exb roller . I don’t need latest greatest I’m going take advantage of the sales . I think they maybe discontinuing the TLR typhon I should’ve grabbed one for 420 last week , I like to build them but these exb diffs are weird . It’s like we need plastic torque wrenches . I’m not comfortable tuning the exb diffs .
It's not a Traxxas or cute little overpriced motorcycle. Of course he's gonna be extra salty. It helps tremendously if you watch with the volume all the way down. I like the truck. Had one pre ordered until I realized it was mostly a rebodied Fireteam and I just so happen to have an excellent Fireteam in need of a new body. Gonna go that route and ordered the new Kraton 6s exb.

@earlmoorhead5555 & I don't foresee the 6S version being much different from its 3S counterpart. A simple tire swap should be a easy fix. I absolutely hated the stock Ragnaroks on the 3S BRCC but as soon as a slapped on a set of the 3S Granite Fortress tires all was forgotten about
Everyone complained or liked the upgraded” rubber shied bearings but they’re actually the cheapest bearings they could find imo . The steel shield ones they offered were far superior. I still have some but new is better when trying to eliminate Slop
(1) I suspect the flush roof rails are to maintain the scale appearance of the truck body while still providing some level of protection against crush damage and err..."catastrophic" (LOL trying to come up with an appropriate adjective) abrasion, but yeah you will still get the lexan roof scratched and scuffed. Kind of a form over function design choice here. (2) Curious about the suspension travel. Is the travel the same as an Outcast/Notorious 6S? Just wondering if this truck overall is more like a "really long" Outcast/Notorious as opposed to a "long" Kraton. Would be awesome if the next Outcast 6S EXB comes out with a super re-enforced body like this Big Rock 6S.
