I think with the newer stator I'll be ok but it could just be an old battery making it worse. Next will be a deep cycle battery to help keep me warm.................JB..
I have so much to say... I want to start by saying I have owned a 2013 SV 650 & have a 2020 SV 650 right now. (same Engine as your V-Strom 650) I need to rewatch this video bcz I Cannot Believe that's a 2006 with 60,000 kms.!! I personally would never-ever... I am waiting to hear the PRICE. You were saying that you had the Bike apart.? What all did you pull apart.? You pulled the plugs. Are you going to do a Valve Clearance Check.?
2007, new Air filter, so had the Tank off with both side fairings, radiator off to change plugs left coil removed to repair and remove some after market wiring and installed a fuse block in the tail. removed front sprocket cover to count teeth to ensure the gearing was stock, and installed Hot Wired plug for heated gear. Changed over to synthetic oil, hotter spark plugs Still have to install new tires, LED headlight bulbs, stator, LED extra lrunning lights, fork oil, Lower footpegs and new brake fluid.
I thought I heard you say it was a 2006, maybe I am just getting old. That's a lotta work.! However, if you do not mind doing the Labour and you got it for $2500, I guess it's well worth it to add another what $1000 into it.? Maybe you should make a 2nd video highlighting some of the things you have shared with me.
Congrats on the new bike! Ahh, stators... my mechanic told me years ago that my Kawasaki Vulcan 800 stator wouldn't generate much until you were at cruising RPM, so letting it sit and idle (I'd just about killed the battery when I left the key on once, oops) wouldn't help. I hope the new one gives you plenty of juice for heated gear!
Christmas day was so nice here, sunny and mid 50s, I went for my first 2-fer rides... rode both of mine, didn't record anything, just went out to enjoy the day, I'm pretty sure it was the first time I've ever done Christmas Day rides 😁👍👍
Hi there, I was just over at Robert White Photography channel and noticed your channel so I decided to check things out and subscribe. Congrats on your "new to you" bike. It looks and sounds great. Good decision with the kids. There is always something happening when you want to put your drone up. I have had issues as well. I liked how you have dual cams with one faded out. Looks great. Lets hope the winter ends quickly. All the best in 2024.
Thanks @goldwingmoments we are looking forward to some winter rides soon, we have just been through a batch of rain and now snow but we will get our chance. going over to your channel now to even things up. thanks for the sub .......JB..
Congratulations! You know I love my 2012 version of that bike!!! I have put 31,000 miles on mine, dropped, crashed it, dunked it, and traveled with it. Still going great!! Happy New Year, I can’t wait to see you off pavement with it!! 12-25 and riding a motorcycle, wow!
Yes we need to save these Harleys from the day to day riding so we can keep them for years and years. Thanks for watching Roy, see you in the summer somewhere.......................JB..
It is a smooth running engine and has quite a bit of power, mmore than you would assume. Thanks for the view and see you in the summer somewhere.........JB..
One of the finest motorcycles ever built. Had a '17 pearl white base model, now a '22 650 Adventure. Love the color on yours. Talked to a Suzuki tech and he seen one with 300k miles on original engine. 400k miles on a 1st gen. 1000. All around sweetheart of a bike. Doesn't need all the unneeded tech that could fail. Enjoy your new ride.
@@Jarvisbiker LOL, I baited you into taking pics in the road... so I'm the master... Well, you get the picture. I'll see myself out. Where's my coffee?
MERRY CHRISTMAS Mr. Wayne 🎄 I need your advise... I see a Black 2012 V-Strom 1000 with 8,000 kms for $6500 Problem is I know very little about V-Stroms, I hear such good things, but I think the model Riders prefer is your 650.
yes you are correct, the 1000 I hear is much more top heavy, harder on fuel etc. If I was looking for a bike more suited to 2 up riding I would have entertained the 1000 instead of the 650.............JB
I really like that shade of Red on yours, plus yours came with the 2 Hard cases & the Top Box, right.? I once bought a 2012 Honda CBX1000 with like 9,990 kms for $5500. The only thing liked about it was it as an incline 4-cyinder, otherwise BORING.! :-(
I knew the Price had to be LOW bcz who buys a 2006 (that's soon to be 18-years-old) and 60,000 kms.!! Did you know if any of my Bike even get close to 10,000 kms I SELL them.! LoL It's cool that you 3D Printed a new latch. Did you see my latest Motorcycle. ;-)
@Jarvisbiker Well, I had my camera gear in my trunk, but had a bad RU-vidr who was too lazy to get it out and record the ride. Was too busy enjoying the day, and the ride ☺️👍
Its great that we are so close by and nice to ride with others who understand when theres a need to stop and fix a camera or change a battery @@SpyderWayne
The bike looks great! I was tempted to go for a ride on Christmas. Unseasonably warm that day. Garmin is a must. The paint on the bike is nice. Have fun!
Congratulations on the vstrom, Wayne. That's on my list of bikes to try. Your bike looks to be in great shape! And, it's a beautiful color. I like the way you have it optioned out. I went to the dealer and sat on the 800, the 1050, and the 650. I liked the feel of the 650 best. The others were very tall. I hope you get many enjoyable years of riding on her. I can't wait to see the footage from where she takes you off road. Perfect bike for Alaska 🙂 Happy New Year!
