Im with you on the whole chinese bikes. My first bike was a 200cc lifan over in mexico branded as italika. People would bash on them because they would break over time. I noticed it was because people would expect too much of them. (200cc to perform like a 600cc) as long as you take care of em they last. I never had an issue with that bike. I still miss it it holds a special place for being my 1st bike. I now ride a 2017 sv650. Happy riding bro. Shes a beaut!
@@maleekrussell3775 i replaced the rear sprocket to lower the rpms when cruising. I was able to cruise at 90 kph (59mph +/-) at atound 6500rpm. I once went 125kph (79 mph +/-) with around 1800 rpms to spare before red line. Not that fast but for me it was plenty especially for its purpose. I was drafting a semi. On its own it maxed at 110kph 120kph with stock sprocket.
Just ordered the venom kpx250 dual sport yesterday. That company is the best I've seen to order from. Shipping was free and the bike came with a 2 year 12,000 mile warranty. It's fender to fender! That says a lot about where the quality of these Chinese bikes are going. Better forks, aluminum rims vs steel, the actual cc (250) that it claims, ect. Once I buy my wife her Honda 4 wheeler she's been drooling over, my plan is to buy the same bike you have. I'm a little worried about what she will ask for next lol. The deal is if I buy a toy, she gets a toy 😂. I'm ok with it though because I get a freaking bike 😁. I like the upgrades too and will probably atleast do the headlight and exhaust. Awesome video man.

My understanding is this bike was not actually EPA certified (i.e not legal).. it's actually a 320cc engine being marketed as a 250. So if you find some old stock make sure you can register the vin..
Venom motorsports buys these in bulk and slaps their logo on a select few of them. They don’t make these bikes. These same bikes can be found on other wholesale atm,scooter,moped websites with different names or branding. They are all imported from Chinese provinces.
Great point you made people like to hate against China bikes but they don’t take care of there bikes they don’t lock tight there bolts, and then regular maintenance once a week check your chain check all the major points and maintain it will last you forever.
It’s true! These aren’t bad bikes at all. Of course they have their pros and cons. But everyone who has looked at and ridden this bike are surprised at how well it’s made!
Because the people who mainly get these Chinese bikes is people who don't know anything about Bikes and Engines so it's not the easiest thing to maintain the vehicles engine to last. Also if you don't surf RU-vid comments you may not come across someone saying that you should tighten everything when you first get it
Used to be that the engine was designed to be visually appealing as well as functional. Painting them flat black is lame. I want to see a metal engine! How bout some street style chrome fenders and headlight?
Yea and even if it was a true 250cc it wouldn't be as underwing as it is. Was a great bike, but felt like a 150 or a slightly more powerful 125cc in my opinion. Only topped out at 79mph.
@darkowlmoto I just decided to buy a used one that needs a bit of work. Needs less time with shipping of parts and I have a more reliable and powerful bike. And nobody has really explained how to go through the process and costs of getting the title.
@@joshuaardoin9918 correct. That's what this is. Thing was definitely not the equivalent to a 350. Was 80mph top speed. Felt quick but not fast. Was definitely fun though. Sadly it was discontinued.

Unfortunately you would have to try and buy through the place you ordered from. Depends on the parts broken. Sprockets can’t be replaced on this unless you custom machine the sprockets for the rear

Honda ,Kawasaki, Suzuki ,Yamaha!? I wouldn’t mind having another bike & not too big!? But LOL I’m 6ft tall! I rode my cousins 600 years ago! It felt good strong & fast but I felt a little cramped on it! But I feel 1000 plus is jus too much for my debilitating body!? ( bahahaha ) I’ve ridden a Hybussa 1300 older model…. Too bulky & prob too fast!? I have a relative I’d like to get something like this bike…. but they are taller & bigger than me! I’m gonna start researching! Enjoyed the post! First of all, I don't hear anyone saying anything about Japanese bikes. Chinese bikes are frown upon b/c their quality is low, unlike Japanese bikes. The Japanese is known for quality and reliability so I'm not sure what you're trying to say here.
Not a chance that they will put high priced bikes out of business. They are very affordable but the power and reliability over time is not there. Nice bikes for the price for sure. But there is next to no aftermarket for these bikes unless you get a clone that is close to the real counter part. and nobody will touch them or work on them if they ever break down or have issues. That is up to YOU the purchaser. There are a lot more cons with having a Chinese bike. And if you want to sell or trade for a name brand bike at a bike dealer that sells only name brands you will not be able to chances are as there is no market for these in terms of dealerships. The closest you’ll get to trading or selling a Chinese bike at a dealership is if you have a CFMOTO bike which is the biggest Chinese bike on the market brand wise.
Any issues with the brake levers? Because I just got one a few days ago and something is missing or messed up with the front brake lever making them not work.

@TNTBudSticker You cant beat brand spanking new with 2 miles on it and a year warranty. But if you dont care about any of that the 500 is a good deal for a starter bike. But if its not a starter bike for 4500 dollars im getting a 2018 to 2020 600 to 700cc motorcycle for that price.
It was once sold on venommotorsportsusa.com this model is no longer available but they have a similar air cooled bike that is a 6 speed instead of a 5 speed.
I’m not sure I understand your question. This engine would not have fit in the Grom clone frame. Not without more supporting frame work. It’s doable but not without some serious fab work.

Joseph Saucedo in my next video I y’all about more about it but yes it is a clone of the cbr! And I’m not entirely sure. However I do know they make mounting brackets in addition to help support the slightly bigger engines. A cbr engine is slightly bigger. I don’t see why it wouldn’t fit.

Marc Reed don’t mind at all! I’m 140 and this thing has plenty of torque and power to get you up a hill! I did not bog down or slow down at all on a very steep hill where I live. Curves are a ton of fun and feel like a knife through butter! I can’t get enough of the twisty roads out here

Most of the parts if not all were bought on ebay. I just searched universal motorcycle exhaust, I do not own the bike anymore so I am afraid I do not remember the exact parts.
For some reason it shows you commented on another video. This GTO is a combination of different bikes. The exhaust that comes stock is a clone of the Kawasaki z1000 and the bike is a Honda 350cbr. I show in another video what it looks like compared to its clone.
im thinking of getting this bike on my 16th birthday i dont know much about anything but have a few years of experience i used to ride dirtbikes and all that for around 2 years but will you have to buy all extra stuff or like will it still work fine without it?
Lifan is a pretty damn good brand I’d honestly go with the Lifan over the boom for longevity and the fact that there is support in the US for the Lifan bran as there is a US headquarters I believe.
@@darkowlmoto yea i had a kp mini 150 before but i bought it from txpowersports in texas and it was a older model not the bike that i chose in the picture thats why always call and talk to these fuggers first because it really hurt that they did that to me and im not rich at all you feel me smh but i put a good 500 miles on it and got 1500 for it before my lights got shut off lol

The thing I don't like about 99 percent of these chinesium bikes is the rear swing arms are always that crappy tubular steal. It looks so ugly and really takes the rest of the look away from the bike. Those belong on cruisers put aluminum cast pieces on sport bikes.
I purchased most of my parts on eBay. I can’t remember the exact ones but I just searched for “universal motorcycle mirrors” I hope this helps! Can always check Amazon as well!
For the life of me I cannot remember the brand of tires. They were OK I wouldn’t recommend pushing the limit on them in anyway. I felt myself drift a few times in tight turns. I ended up upgrading to continental tires.
Correct. These bikes come with hyped up specs. Since they are all very underpowered. The real true Chinese bikes with serious power are being sold in dealerships like the CFmoto brand.

I don't see this one anywhere, I just ordered the 250 version, is this one a v-twin aswell? I've had supersports in the past, I tried the hawk 250 but I sold it cause I never go off road, and I didn't want to deal with it anymore after changing sprockets and chain and carb and air filter, I still couldn't get it over 65mph, most dealers have different top speed for these, some say 100 and others say 87, to be honest I only really need 75 so it would confortly cruise at 65, and I don't wanna deal with any mods, just regular maintanance, I want to just use this for a couple years till I can get the a Fuell Fllow e-moto.

nevermind, i read your comments about the ebay links. I bought one of these last year. The shifter broke off though and i've been trying to find a replacement for it. Dealer is looking into it for me.
King KO lol that’s what venoms website says. It’s been confirmed it is indeed the same 350 engine as a few other bikes sold in Europe and Argentina identical. It is a 350 engine is just does not have the 6th gear. The title says it all as well. ECU also says 350cc the bike is detuned and is done so for a few reasons to be sold here in the USA.
You cannot have a 250cc engine perform like a 350cc engine. This is a cheap bike and if you Have ever ridden a 350cc bike as well as this particular bike it does NOT perform like 350 at all. Torque is low on this and and while top speed is 83mph (depending on riders weight) it does not perform like a 350 or any high performance engine. I’ve read venommotorsportsusa.coms and on their site it says it performs like a 350cc which is laughable. But yes it’s IS 250cc coming from a 350cc engine. The engine is put in other bikes. With the added 6th gear. This particular bike is detuned. Smaller sprockets and one less gear. With those upgrades as well as some internal parts like Argentina and Germany sell it can reach 110mph.
It does! Just take care of it like any other vehicle.I changed all of the fluids when I received the bike and I let it run for a good while to kind of break it in.change the spark plugs out for longer better NGK spark plugs. He ones that coke with it are too small. And I recommend using premium fuel.

Just about anywhere tbat sells tbat type of bulb. Or you can check on venoms website to see what they may have! I bought an aftermarket light and retrofitted it.
U finally did it! Congrats!! Btw I have a question for ur mirror. I know u change the stock mirror which means u never used it or have u? I have used my stock mirror n compare to my Lycan V-Twin stock, I can never really have a good 3 sec rules to turn right or left during traffic and I have to reassured myself that no one is close to me within 3 feet n only worry about what I see in 1 yard to make a quick turn through acceleration. It was scary but I get used to it. Sometimes I have to bent my arms in a weird way just to c who’s behind. How do u c in ur new mirror, r they better than the stock that u can c someone tailgating u?
CHINA Motorsports I did put them on just to see how they looked. However I did not plan on using them. While the mirrors I purchased do look smaller they have a few more ways to be adjusted. Where as the stock mirrors are usually just adjusted bud moving the mirror around. This eliminates the need for “the chicken wing” lol
@DarkOwlMoto I recently upgraded to bar-end mirror n funny I installed them below because on top my shoulder gets the most view. But I had the stock when I was installing it, n have been riding with the stock since the bike was delivered to me, n I can tell it’s much better. But it’s a new way to get-used to since I’m normally looking up on mirrors but now I have to look down lol.
I’ve also had those but on my little Honda grom clone. Specifically put on a small 125cc they weren’t the beat choice since they vibrate terribly. These bikes are so smooth and the engine mounts seem to dampen the engines vibrations nicely!
@DarkOwlMoto It’s smooth on certain gears but not all of them. When I first had my Lycan I wasn’t paying attention to the vibration n constantly switching bikes every two days so I wasn’t really monitoring how I ride except the service log. Until right after I sold my GTS n was waiting for the GTO, I was riding the Lycan only for a straight week which I never did then I noticed the small difference. On 3rd gear it vibrates but when changing it to fourth the vibration stops. I’m always on 4th n 5th gear, n the 3rd was experimental that week. Have I never experiment with the gears how they performed I would have never found the weak point to the V-Twin. Anywhoo after I received my GTO the duo starts again. Some weeks I used the Lycan for 3 days when it rains n the GTO on the 2 best days it doesn’t rain or show lightest rain or shower. Then some other week I would use the GTO for 3 days which I prefer all the times n the Lycan for 2 days because both bikes needs to b running weekly. Now I can’t experiment which gear the GTO vibrates at but I’m sure when that time comes when I’m riding it only I’ll find out. Like u quote on that video it’s like riding someone’s bike lol. I watched it through the end! Great vid!

I wouldn’t advised u to remove a Chinese bike sticker that named the bike. Like the American Lifan bike “Lycan” or this “Howlet” from JONWAY. It leaves a mark on the surface and some heavy glued. Literally even if u clean it, the mark will b like a photoshop thin stroke effect if u know what I mean. U r scar for life lol or unless u paste something on top which I did on my Lycan.

Unfortunately I didn’t find a way to tune it. It runs very lean from factory so be careful and keep an eye on your exhaust manifold. If it gets too red hot at night you’re running super lean!
@@djnhem6766 so over time it’s recommended when you change a sprocket or a chains that you replace either or at the same time. There are several websites that you can custom order sprockets from. Just make sure you get the right size chain and tooth to go with eachother. I believe on that bike it’s a 520 chain. So from here on out use 520 sprockets and chains. The front sprocket you can buy those just about anywhere online even Amazon. The front sprocket is a 12T sprocket used with a 520 chain
@@djnhem6766 and as far as running lean just don’t mess with it a whole lot in terms of intake or anything. I’d personally leave it stock. Any intake or performance filter you add will make it even more leaned out. Keep as is.
I purchased all on eBay. From the mirrors, to the brake and clutch levers, to the slip on muffler/exhaust. I looked for most of these and they are being sold but under different sellers and prices or some aren’t being sold anymore it really is hit or miss. One of the reasons why I didn’t post them up. But if you go to my “should you get a grom clone” video I have a list to some of the same parts on that video. Hope that helps.
