I think the reason Nikolai seems so off in this trailer is because he is the only one who’s soul hasn’t been put in the summoning key because blood of the dead takes place after zetsubou and before Gorod krovi
So hopefully he reads the comments. I think they are frustrated because they can’t end the cycle on mob and get back to the timeline. All the “no escapes” around the map makes Richthofen realize that they can’t escape Mob now that the portal was closed. And I think everyone in the group realizes this, that’s why they are bloody and yelling and contemplating suicide. That’s at least what I can tell. The gem the doctor pulls from the lava probably has something to do with their escape I’d assume. I think we may even get the chance for there to be two endings in this map. One where the escape Hell and one where they don’t. Them getting the gem shows that they escape, and Nikolai potentially throwing the chronorium away could symbolize the no escape timeline. Not sure how tho. Just an idea
YES. Literally like. They've been there much longer than we think. They didnt JUST arrive. They've been stuck there, failing again and again, (perhaps with afterlife after Sal, and Finn, and Billy, And Weasel had broke the cycle or failed to). Just dying and trting over and over again, and are so tired and angry. And us playing it, to beat the EE will be them achieving it possibly.

That would actually be cool. Like Blood of the dead is just a potential outcome in every version of the cycle. They either go to Mob and leave like in the comic or they go and get stranded so Blood happens. If they get stuck Richtofen tells them about the cycle and they all die to restart
My opinion is that they are figuring out that that they are stuck in a loop and they keep dying and they’ve been there for a super long time and they are getting super desperate hence why Nikolai dropped his gun and let the zombies take him and why they all die multiple times.
I'm fairly certain they don't die. Since the show Nikolai die 2 separate times, it clearly shows they are in some purgatory. Which means the Easter egg will have something to do with breaking the "live die repeat" cycle
Obviously this isn’t where they die because of the Dempsey cipher from revelations think again, I’m pretty sure Monty knows where BOTD is. Also I hope we see the Great War like we see in the ciphers and der eisendrache paintings. I was absolutely speechless after this trailer. This actually may be the end of the Aether Storyline (at least it feels like it after this). EDIT: One of the achievements for this map (very likely the Easter Egg achievement) says to "Escape". This gets me thinking either: A. The characters escape the cycle, and the story ends there. B. The characters have to break the cycle, but to do so, they have to kill Monty and the Shadowman. Not too sure how this would work out, but we'll see. EDIT 2: After some thought, what if "Escape" = "Dying"? Just think of how MOTD went compared to what could happen now.
This map takes place after the ZNS EE so it only makes sense that the escape from this map is gonna break their cycle, send them back to ZNS and then from there revelations happens. After that they get sent back to medieval times to the Great Battle. Their story is not over, this map is just a missing plot point from BO3. Their story continues after they get transported by Monty. Presumably that map will be DLC1
I wonder if they really sacrifice themselves here and it's left to ultimis to break the cycle and set things right once and for all. i think it would be nice to think that the original characters we played as all those years ago are the ones to end it.
MILO. HUGE IMPLICATIONS. The scene where Richtofen is messing around with a blueprint down in the lab resembles the loading screen of Der Riese. The items on the table match, which means the severed finger we see in the loading screen belongs to Richtofen!
It's obvious Milo. At this point in the timeline, Nikolai is the only person who hasn't had his soul saved. Everything is at stake for him, and yet now Primis is stuck in Alcatraz, in the same cycle of death as the Mob of the Dead crew. Richtofen is in despair because he was so close to saving them all and now he is stuck. Takeo is in post-traumatic stress due to having just previously honorably executed himself at Zetsubo No Shima. Tank is suicidal because it seems all the violence has been for nothing. And Nikolai is falling apart because he is stuck in this literal Hell without having his soul saved so that Child Nikolai could live on. The goal of this map will be to break the Cycle of death so that they can get to Stalingrad and save Nikolai's soul. It probably wont affect the greater Zombies storyline, it's just meant to fill in the blank, explain the Blood a bit more, and end the Primis story with a bang.
Anyone else notice in the trailer Nikolai was the only one who willingly died? He stopped fighting the zombies and he also willingly made his way to Brutus. This is his sacrifice. This is why he is remembered in Mob.
When everyone forgets that tranzit crew is in the map and will have a huge impact on the story also Depsey is the best and when Nikolai was looking sick. The camera angle looked like the one from when the warden tra stormed into a zombie from the original trailer. Easter egg CAMERA ANGLES and the lava around the map is seen by the 2nd dog feed spot with the lava portal at the bottom also is that Crystal a fire staff one? RU-vidrs like noahj456 have gotten replica staffs and the blue Crystal that came with the ice staff he got looks identic al to the crystal in the trailer

Maybe they’re depressed angry or sad cause they know that “NO ONE ESCAPES ALIVE” and eventually they’re all gonna die. So they’re like “boys this is it all we’ve done, here it ends” and since the original mob cast died they know they will
The words on the floor say “1 alone can follow the path”. I have a theory from this. Remember how Al said “Nikolai, Nikolai, Nikolai! Why do I keep hearing that name?” Well I think that those hints and the fact that Nikolai was clearly emphasized in the trailer might mean that he will do the same thing that Al did to the other 3 prisoners: team up with the zombies and kill the other 3 to end the cycle. We also know that this takes place after Zetsubou, so Nikolai could also be pushed away from the idea of continuing the main story cycle because of the fact that he has to kill himself. Just an idea.
This is by far the best trailer for me. Over the past BO3 trailers, we’ve seen glimpses of the other failed cycles where things go wrong, a crew member dies, they end up killing one another, etc. but we’ve also seen and hear quotes suggesting their mental anguish over their situation. Just like in the original MoTD, we see it all come out here. “Where are we going”, the entire ambience, imagery, and setting of this version of Alcatraz, and Alcatraz in general gives the feelings of anger, frustration, and mental torture of the characters over their inability to do anything about the fact that they are trapped in what is the closest to a literal hellhole that we have in zombies right now. I see this as why we see them contemplating suicide, screaming in anger and beating a crawler, accepting and embracing death, and why richtofen, the one who handles futility the worst, screaming out at nothing and pounding on the wall that says “No way out” This is also why MoTD, and I’m sure very soon BoTD are my favorite maps in zombies

The gem can possibly be what we use to make the magmagat and nikolai is seperate and upset because he read the kronorium with whatever horrible context it had for him and may feel betrayed
The crew IS NOT dead because death on this map is temporary and is part of the cycle, In the trailer for the original mob of the dead all the characters died as well and kept returning until the Easter egg was completed. ALSO they are angry because they are not supposed to be there and anything they try to do to escape is completely futile and every time they die they just end up in the same place because the map wont let them die.
I think the trailer represents them constantly restarting the cycle. They die over and over because they dony know how to get out and it frustrates the characters. Richthofen is trying to find a way to save them, but can't. And they all feel doomed shown by the anger in all of them. Blood of the dead is showing us why the revelations ending was so crucial, it seems it was the only way, because if they try to break the cycle they end up in blood of the dead

Remember back to the original trailer for BOTD. The portal is closed trapping them on Alcatraz. What if now that they are trapped, they are stuck in purgatory. So Nikoli was so angry because he has died over and over again, leaving him distraught as seen in this trailer. Could also be the reason that Tank is seen looking depressed with the pistol in the office, as well as richtofen being depressed at the cat walk and when tearing the comic. I mean, Nikoli shows to get killed. So purgatory cant be ruled out (I hope you see this MrRoflWaffles)
Wooooohoooo. So fuckin pumped the digital version is releasing early too!! I was a lil pissed at first to know physical copies would get to play it first. Awesome news. They've done really good so far this year. Everything seems to be a success. Multiplayer beta went well. Black ops beta was A HUGE success. Zombies looks amazing. The game itself is releasing like 3 weeks early. And now they're releasing it a few hours early to give people time to download it. They did a GREAT job preventing leaks. Up until 2 days before release. And they managed to lock off all the zombie Easter Eggs until the game is released.... All in all Treyarch did a fucking awesome job this year. And I think they need a "hellllll yeaaaaa" from the community.
So what happened was that Al before he joined the motd gang with the 3 others he wanted to be either a book writer or comic book writer Al showed his idea to the print post which was a man with superpowers or superhero The print post declined this idea at first but after AL got arrested and sent to Alcatraz the print post stole his idea and used it as there own which explains the modern Media of superheros kinda of a sad story but true
@Chicken War A.possibly as you can see Nikolai pick up aLs hat possibly they know about the group that where before them and know there fate maybe the hat and drawing show no one escaped exept 1 and that one person is the weasel as is shown in the Easter egg so maybe there going crazy on the fact they can't escape by breaking the cycles we can see the kynorium keeps on changing so they can't escape anyway I think maybe Nikolai Tokea Dempsey and richtofen sacrifices themselves for the ultumus crew to end the cycle it will be amazing for the ultimus crew to finish up the story But I'm confused though because Brutus is the devil taking form of someone from there memory but I don't think primis knew Brutus I thought it would have been Dr.Groph because they mudered him on the moon so it makes no sense that Brutus is in blood of the dead Also I think the body bags can be the primis and the witches crew that kept on failing and got hanged I typed this all on phone and it was about 30 minutes can I get a heart please lol
i expected milo to know the symbolism of all this, the symbolism/meaning is that they are hopeless and exhausted of the cycle that keeps going. *The beginning will become the end.*
This is in between Zetsubo no shima and Gorod krovi. I think they’re stuck in a loop just like Weasel, Sal, Billy, and Finn were originally. This is where they got the blood vials from so it would make since that in order to get that blood from those characters they may have had to get stuck to begin with. Plus in the first actual trailer/intro to Blood of the Dead, the Warden breaks they’re portal-they’re only way out. So they’re probably stuck in a loop now.
I think that our characters are being damned to Alcatraz like in mob of the dead. You see each character on their last nerve. I wouldn’t be surprised if when we play, it won’t be the first time our characters have gone through the cycle. We see Dempsey contemplating what looks like suicide, Nikolai just straight anger and suicide, Richthofen is just scared as for the first time he doesn’t know what to do, and we see Takeo just not giving a damn how he fights as usual
Mrroflwaffles, you don't understand this trailer. It shows that the characters are going insane, they've given up. Did you not see the first trailer? They can't get home.
I think the symbolism of Nikoli with the crawler that he pounds to a pulp is that they're stuck there just like the crawler but he just wants to be free.
I think that scene where Nikolai kills the crawler represents his frustration with knowing a new round will start and he will continue the cycle of death.
They are stuck in a paradox of a loop, basically purgatory, they are the most fierce soldiers to begin with but they keep seeing eachother die over and over again making them be driven insane where they are going mad, now that......thats fucking crazy..this shit....it makes me feel old as fuck cause i been playing zombies since the very first world at war when it first became a thing.. but all in all....all of this gave me ultimate chills down my back and arms..like there is no way out this time. they are forever stuck on the island and doomed for eternity unless they BREAK THE CYCLE!
Milo if you read this I've been speculating that the ending to the Easter egg is going to be the same as the OG Mob but instead of Al killing the crew Nikolai is the Al of the Primis crew and will kill everyone to end the cycle and with you saying Nikolai may have read the Chronorium and Blundell hinting towards the major importance of him i think this is a good concrete theory. I hope who ever read this enjoys :) and bring on BO4

Wait. This actually makes sense. Think about what we presume to be Dempsey's note about there being "not much of us left" and "death will come for me soon". They get trapped in their own loop except it can't be broken. They must die in this universe. This is their end. Plus there's the new chaos story coming in so bringing back a fan favourite map with a new story is the perfect way to kill off Primis permanently. RIP boys, you will be sorely and sadly missed.
MrDalekJD raised a good point in that this is in “purgatory mode” and they keep restarting and keep dying so this trailer shows them dying over and over and they keep losing hope
Hi I got a theory about the crystal that Richthofen picks up and I believe it could be something To do with Nickolai but I also believe that there is a way for them to live and it has something to do with that crystal I've watched this for over an hour now and it's really bugging me with the crystal now and why is Nickolai so angry is this the end or is there away to save them. I must also say this is one of the best trailers I have ever watch it like a move to be honest they should make a cod zombies move that would be amazing . 3:53 I've made a theory that I believe the zombie that Nikolai was looking at, that drove him mad, is Weasel Arlington. Two seconds in, (3:55) You can see that the shape of the head looks awfully round and big and I have never seen any zombie that has a head like that and I believe there should be a reason why Treyarch decided to add that scene in the trailer.
Nikolai, read the Kronorium, realises whats to happen, throws it into the fire, Gets angry cuz he realises his fate is sealed. BOOM!!! I mean the crew’s probably loosing their sanity as it is but ma boi Nikolai..he er....he knows whats up.

So Milo I just got finished watching and still I'm actually watching the new Mob of the Dead reveal trailer with you and your friend I must say you need to do a super in-depth breakdown of this trailer it gave me chills and it was super epic we've seen a couple of things that you need to bring to light and I'll be waiting for you to do a livestream on it standing by
I feel like primis' story in Alcatraz is how they are having to go thru the cycle like how we had to in mob, but they have a much more painful experience than those in mob, maybe they have to do more to actually escape from Alcatraz with the help of Monty or something
I think that they're stuck in purgatory and have been in "the cycle" for so long it's making them depressed and giving up. Hence why Takio dies, Nikola gets eaten by zombies, and richtofhen is just ok with sticking his hand in the lava. He knows it's going to be repeated again anyway. Maybe the jem is the goal but everytime they get close they fail.
They are stuck in the cycle that the Mob of the Dead crew was. The reason they are anger is because they keep their memories after death. I really don’t know how Primus will get out of this I CANT WAIT
