The SR-71D is good if you use it as a Long range high altitude bomber, the lock on range of that aircraft is impressive somewhere around 6 to 10 km, you can lock on enemy ship especially in high altitude. Just watch out for flare release of the enemy. The 3 missiles are good now after the quick fix buff. The only issue with the missiles is their durability, it's extremely low especially against ship with 6 and 8 to 10+ aa slots They quickly intercepted and just straight disintegrated like dust. And the missile reload speed takes forever by the time the missiles are ready to use, you're already dead, 80% of health gone and zero flares. Acceleration speed is good but extremely hard to maneuver, sometimes you can outrun aa missiles and can get out easily on heavy enemy air defense perimeter.
Finally someone that understands the nuances of this game and recognizes that the plane is good! My play style with it has been unmatched currently. I shoot up like a rocket at start, reach the skybox limit of 5,300m and then level off to fly directly on top of their carrier, then I nose down and as soon as I reach 4,500m they are spotted and I’m able to fire. As soon as they are spotted, I’m pulling up hard and launching missiles. Because of my attack angle THE MISSILES CANNOT BE FLARED. Try for yourself and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Use the 4.5km spot range to your advantage. Stay out of their AA range. VERY few players specialize in AA hunting and leave that work to their AA. This is their downfall and your rise to glory. Be weary of ships that have those oddball extended range AA. But for those situations I still have a solution for you! Run. Fast. You can outrun most missiles if you’re playing it right. I’ll watch the minimap grey ring (my detection range) and just lightly buzz a red circle with it to detect it and run as they launch. The missile don’t hit.

There is a situation where you are running and the missile will eventually make the audio and visual ques that it connected but it does not damage. You’re at like 11km away from the launch point, the missile has bleed out so much energy it’s dead by the time it reaches you.
