Dye joins the movemeny with PWR barrel inserts! The UL-I barrel is nearly the same as the UL-S that you know and love with a sweet twist - now it takes barrel inserts!
Media Guy Doug's favorite point to bring up for these is that between all three manufacturers currently making these inserts (Carbon Paintball, Planet Eclipse, and now Dye Paintball) you can get a WIDE range of barrel bore sizes and get the PERFECT paint-to-barrel bore size match.
Watch the whole thing and let us know what you think! When you're done, use the link below to shop at Punishers Paintball!

What difference did you see between the two barrel sizes, in the flight of the ball? One ball is tightly controlled and the other is bathing the ball in air. I’m just curious. My own testing is with a closed bolt Grey Ghost pump and a .692 barrel. Shoots like a laser. The ball detent is the only thing stopping the ball from rolling out. With a pump you have no acceleration provided by the bolt, it’s all gas/air. Thanks in advance!!!

In general and speaking specifically to the question of trajectory not efficiency, the different between having a more loose bore fit versus a more snug and proper one can leads to less "squirreling" in your paint (essentially a straighter trajectory). This is because there is little to no room, in an ideal bore match size, for the ball to knock around in the barrel and gain screwball-like momentum. This concept would hold true for any two barrels using different sizes.

They're sucking everyone into the barrel race again I see lol. As a 34 year vetran, they make no difference. Any brand that offers enough inserts will do fine. Even the good old freak is still fine. That kind of money for a barrel kit is insane to me.

How in the world are you going to compare two barrels that are using two completely different bore sizes ……………………………….

You can also buy the carbon inserts for $20 and there are a bunch of them

Carbon inserts, that a great idea! Is DYE the only manufacturer that has those? My DLS came with a carbon back piece but I don't think it runs inserts.

@@DarkRendition I think the Carbon paintball inserts are probably carbon as well? I'm not sure. Personally I think it's a bad idea. CF has good tensile strength but it doesn't wear out the same. It will probably wear out over time unlike metal.

@@MrBottlecapBill the Brand is carbon the inserts are aluminum just like the dye and planet ones are . The PWR carbon inserts will work with any barrel system that calls for PWR inserts or freak inserts you grab their freak ones

I got the original Carbo fiber Boomstick. Great barrel. But this new one is completely out of touch, 500+ that's way to much. Sorry 😢

Barrel inserts are more cost effect? - 688 UL-S back, 49.95, UL-S front 49.95, screw together and go. What did you say, back 59.95, front 59.95, and inserts at 34.95? I means that’s 55 more expensive, I could buy the second back for that. 365 for a full set seems way less cost effective than 250 for a kit that I’ll only ever use one insert out of the whole kit

Should have been using the same barrel size.
