thanks, glad to find a hands on review of this particular bow, looks smooth. I'm a sucker for traditional style and aesthetic and this one has really caught my eye. I bought a very traditional yew longbow at a renfair a long time ago, but at 55lb I can't draw it! then a cheap very short 25lb mongolian horse bow which is immensely fun to shoot and surprisingly accurate shooting 'from the hip' so to speak, now in an attempt to look more serious have the 35lb Bear Grizzly traditional recurve which is amazingly efficient bow to shoot but not nearly as fun as the little horse bow, this Sada bow looks like a great compromise, all the fun with a little more build quality

no problem, I still really like this bow, and as someone who grew up shooting the more technical modern style recurve bows with carbon fiber limbs/aluminum riser it's nice to just forget all that fancy stuff and focus on shooting, archery as it should be ;)

*forgoes any kind of asiatic shooting method and shoots exactly how you would a modern barebow* “Wow! It shoots almost exactly the same way! How interesting!”

Nice video and good shooting. It seems to me that women have such good form . I usually file the front of my feathers and add extra glue . I also have a special glove for shooting off the shelf. Sometimes I just slip on a golf glove.

Nothing more relaxing than shooting a traditional bow.

couldn't agree more, I need to find time to make up the wooden arrows for it

I love the more simplistic bows even fiberglass ones. They just seem smoother to me. Watch those fletchings thow. You can get by shooting arrows with only1 or 2. But tear them off or resecure them as soon as you notice them coming loose. They can hurt you...as you know...but they can also send your arrow directions that will surprise you. Good shooting. Id like to see a follow up and a quiver video

try shooting it on the right side, also use thumb ring i myself prefer one made out of horn. It feels great.
@IodoDwarvenRanger
@IodoDwarvenRanger 3 года назад
yep, I will be trying shooting on the right side at some time, the only reason I didn't here was because my arrows were falling apart and I didn't want to end up completely ruining that set because I need it for my modern archery gear, I will be making some more arrows when work allows me the time, then I will try :)

@@IodoDwarvenRanger Right as i recall you use aluminium arrows right? yeah aluminium arrows do bends a lot well the one i've tried that is, try carbon mixed with fiber, been using it a lot it's quite sturdy, also look for the spine chart, because different lbs and draw lenght affect what how much spine in an arrow you need. Also that burning sensasion in your bow hand, i just found out recently how to avoid it. even if you shoot on right side you'll still feel it, and i do got some scratch from it too, the way to avoid it is well... first thing is right hand, second try holding your arrow in your bow hand with your thumb and let it slide of the side of your thumb when you release instead of that soft part of your hand i don't know the name.

@@annoyingmouse799 Thanks for the info, but I'll be making a set of traditional wooden arrows to go with my kit, and I've never had a problem with the "burning sensation" while shooting, the problem I had in this video was that the fetching came off the arrow and stabbed into my hand, this is because the glue is old and those arrows needed re-fetching (I've since done that)

What is the draw weight on your bow(s)?
@IodoDwarvenRanger
@IodoDwarvenRanger 2 года назад
I don't really know, I've never measured it but the horse-bow was advertised as 30Ibs when I bought it, and the modern re-curve bow feels at least 5ibs stronger, sorry I can't give a more technical answer :o

@@IodoDwarvenRanger No. The only bow i have is about 35lbs. If you are only shooting for fun or for a LARP , SCA etc... you don't need a heavy 100+lb bow.

@@shinjofox I only really do archery for fun and because it's awesome so I don't need to worry about needing a higher poundage :)
