My name is Shelly and I’m a 44-year-old web geek that jumped off the deep end into the makeup and beauty world. I’ve got normal to dry skin (very dry in the winter), fine lines, and hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage. Cameo appearances by my rescue cats Daffy, Polly, Ziva, and Merlin.

I am 56 and have used ALOT of different foundations over the years. The Believe foundation is a total game changer for me. I taught swimming lessons for years and this is the only foundation that covers all my sunspots with one layer. Their brushes are pretty good but the foundation is EPIC!

I mixed the foundation and the tinted moisturizer together, and it was so so good for dry/mature skin. Get some Goo Be Gone for the sticker shit. Mine was the same. Crazy sticky!

KatMom Kristy I love her too because I can relate to her .. I also watch younger guru’s but we need more 30 plus -40 plus -50 plus guru’s .. us 50 year olds have different issues around the eyes and skin that I would love help with ..she has a wonderful in-depth turorial on how to create the perfect cat eye liner on hooded lids I recommend it often because she really goes into detail 😊

@@Soapartisan875 yes we do! And I like the fact that she's not full of botox and fillers. I want to see what it looks like on REAL mature skin, not cosmetically enhanced skin. No shade at anyone doing whatever they want to their own face/body, but I want to know how it applies and wears on skin like mine.

I've only recently discovered it, as I never had one nearby until now. It is quite surprising the variety of their products! My store has 2 full aisles of lawn and garden goodies that I've got in mind to spend some time in soon :)

I tried the coral looking color of lip gloss and it was gorgeous. Peachy pink, shimmery without too much dazzle & wore similar to how my buxom ones do. (Long lasting for lip gloss) Going back to pick up their other colors. 👍 thanks for reviewing the line

Airspun face powder has been around since 1935! I remember my grandma wore it everyday, the smell reminds me of her. ❤ I also like the way it performs on my 60s combo skin. Applied lightly it's as good as anything I've used to date! I also enjoy Believe Beauty products. The foundation is beautiful and lasting when applied over moisturizer. I enjoy your practical, indepth reviews!👍

You can use 91• rubbing alcohol to get that sticky, goopy mess left by stickers in your products!

This makeup looks so pretty on you! You said you weren’t thrilled with the eyeshadows but the finished result looked great. Goo Gone or nail polish remover will take that sticky mess right off the packaging.

Thanks for this video! After hearing about the Believe line of cosmetics, I went to my local Dollar General to check it out. I stood there looking at all of the products and couldn't decide what to buy. This helped. :) I think I'll check out the gel shadows in a couple of colors.

There's a DG across the street from work. I stopped by earlier this week and picked up the foundation and crease brushes, a lip liner and a gloss. I liked everything I tried so far. I'm going to try to go back this afternoon for a couple of more items.

Thank you for reviewing this new line. Tip: I keep an exacto knife in my vanity drawer to open those pesky seals. I just run the blade along the seam and leave the label on because I can never get all of the adhesive off anyway.

I saw this at a new DG that opened last week about 20 mins away. Then when I went to my DG that's not even 10 mins away, they were sitting it up. Exciting! I've noticed DG is getting lots of products they normally dont carry and some cute home decor items as well! Way to go DG!!!

Shelley, Thanks for reviewing this line. Wondering if the brow gel also came in a cool tone color. You can remove those gunky adhesive remains with either Melaleuca Sol-u-Mel or Goo-Be-Gone. I know the Melaleuca works well. It won't hurt the packaging. 💖🌼💄👝

Hi Faith! It's hard to tell from the packaging if the gels are cool or warm toned, so I'm not sure if the other colors had more cool tones.

A little dab of cooking oil will take off that sticky film. Just use your finger to smear it on, let it sit for 10 minutes then rub it off with a paper towel. :) Wow, that sponge is huge! It looks bigger than the Sonia Kashuk marble sponge! I tried to like the Coty airspun powder but it was so drying on my skin. And that nostalgic perfume! lol! I just hate when liquid liners run out of juice before you get to the other eye. Grrrr! Too bad about the eyeshadow palette, the shades were so pretty in the pan.

That sponge just about doubles in size when wet! I like that SK sponge too but I think I like the DG one better with the different angles. Kind of reminds me of the EcoTools Total Perfecting Blender sponge that I loved (and then my cats ate them all. They loved that sponge, too).

Girl I just got the foundation and the face trio on Sunday from my kids. So I'm gonna try it soon. All the reviews have been ok so far so I hope it goes well. I do know that the brand left out all the horrible scents and that I love!! And also the shade ivory is my exact shade match! First time in my 30 years of wearing foundation that it's a perfect color. So great job on the video my friend

I have to agree with you on the eye shadow palettes. I was all excited to try them and when I did they went on real dark, I had a hard time blending them and they all ended up looking like 1 color. Very disappointing.

Hey love your video. You can use a drop of oil to get the stickynes of I found that works the best. I used rubbing alcohol first but that takes away the shine of the cap. Hope that helps 🙂

A little rubbing alcohol will get that goo off. I stopped in the DG by my house the other day but they don’t carry this brand 😕. Oh well, maybe another store will. NYX brow pencils come in ash brown which is the best color match for me as well. I like the NYX precision brow pencil better than the ABH brow whiz that everyone else seems to love. If you haven't yet you should give that one a try.

I’ve never tried a hydrating primer before. What is the difference between it and a moisturizer? I’ve always wondered. Thanks! Oh, and would you wear both a moisturizer PLUS a hydrating primer? 😘😘😘

I definitely wear them both. My skin sucks up moisture to the point that there's no such thing as over-moisturizing. I can't keep up with how quickly my skin dehydrates! The hydrating primers usually still have the typical primer ingredients (most of the ones I like are the silicone-based ones, for their line filling and texture smoothing properties) but then they also have some moisturizer ingredients. I would say the hydrating primers aren't enough moisturization for dry skin worn alone, but I like them because some of the potentially drying ingredients are replaced with non-drying ingredients, if that makes sense! Of course, I still read the labels because they might say they're dewy or hydrating, then be full of denatured alcohol which is totally drying. Primers with glycerin in the first few ingredients are my favorite kind (really any face makeup with glycerin - foundation, setting spray, etc).

Your headband just reminded me of my granddaughter. She turns 4 next week. She WAS going to have a Frozen theme to her party. Then she saw the unicorn stuff. And screamed “Mommy! I want all the unicorns!!!” She’s definitely a girlie girl, but she’s not afraid to wrestle you to the ground.

So I'm an oily skin girl & I'm very fair? Do they have anything that will work for my skin color & matte primer? With the sticky residue try wetting a dish sponge with hot water & going straight to the sticky stuff and scrubbing it off. Put a little dish soap.

Hi Rae! Yep they do have a matte primer. I think the lightest shades will be light enough for a lot of people but probably not as light as the fairest of the fair. If you follow Phyrra on RU-vid - they didn't go as light as she is - probably 2 shades darker on the light end.

Hi Lanora! The most effective thing I've found just a few months back was the new product from Science Serum called Bright & Tight. It's similar to their Tight Eye product if you've heard of that, but it also includes ingredients that help encourage the body to carry away excess fluid under the eyes (including blood that may have pooled from leaky capillaries, causing the purple), and helps close up those leaky capillaries. So if that is the cause of your dark circles, it's definitely effective! I'm loving it. Fascinating. We don't have Dollar General in Canada, and I have never seen the Believe line. I liked the way it all turned out, especially since it was only $87 in total. I think the bullet lipstick was a good colour on you - not too pink. Looks great with the dark hair. Thumbs up to the highlighter as well. And the mascara, but then again, I'm a poky brush fan. Apropos of nothing, have you heard about the rephr brushes? They're made in Canada of natural hair and look a lot like the Wayne Gosse brushes. They also send out prototypes for testing at a crazy reduced price as long as you give a review. The basic set is $200 CAD, which is probably around $140 USD for 5 brushes. Tarababyz and Michele Wang have both tried them. I just ordered the basic set and a tester eye shadow brush (little one for the crease). rephr.ca in case you feel like being enabled. It's the least I can do, since you've enabled me so much. ;)

I went in almost immediately after watching beauddiction talk about it and got the concealer and I LOVE it. Oh my gosh. I hate those dg stickers. I'd rather just sort through the stuff myself. *edit: I really like pink highlights, thanks to Benefit Dandelion Twinkle. I think they always look SO GOOD on you. Every time you're like "I don't really go for the pink highlights" I'm over here yelling "but it looks so pretty on you!" 🤣

I just got the Twinkle highlight in that cheekleaders (what a name) palette and it's so wild! I don't even know what to call it - it's like pink and champagne and sheen all in one! It's so pretty!

I think the Coty Airspun has been around since the beginning of time. Both my mom and grandmother used it, and I can still recall the scent. Either that or Cornsilk. You are too young to remember that one! I don't like poky bristle brushes either. Ouch! Loving that gel eyeshadow. So pretty. The makeup looks really pretty on you! Loving your unicorn headband. Would someone please let me know if you’ve tried the foundation, it is fragranced or scented? Does it smell really bad? . I DID get their compact powder and it looks like I have flour on my skin. Their gel eyeshadows are pretty nice. . I’ve brought back several fairly expensive, for me ($20.00 to $40.00) foundations that had sunscreen in them that wasn’t noted in the ingredients list. The Naked Skin by U.D. also smells like sunscreen but I didn’t see it included as a ingredient. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve got MCS (not allergies) and react badly (nausea, migraine, burning throat, numb lips & tongue) to anything that’s heavily scented/fragranced.

Hello! There is no added fragrance in the ingredients. The foundation does not have much of a scent at all. Titanium dioxide is listed as one of the last ingredients, though the product does not claim to have SPF protection.

I’m here in the face of tragedy hoping you’ll include some of these items in a 5/3 review. I finally made it to DG last night and picked up a few items. I used the hydrating primer and the foundation brush this morning and that was the only difference in my routine. My foundation oxidized crazy yellow. Jaundice yellow! And of course I roll out of bed at the last minute so I’m stuck for the day unless I try covering it all with the Missha BB I keep at my desk. I can only assume my skin + the primer + the infallible fresh wear is not a good combo.

Overall, I really need to see shades available, in person. A total pass is the face trio. Too dark for me. The highlight would work because I am pale and ruddy. It would be exciting if they released a warm brown, mascara 💜. Fingers crossed on the mascara 💜

The eye color is so pretty. Everyone was talking about believe foundation. Well I searched everywhere & finally found it, I was so happy. NOT! It look horrible on me. Such a disappointment! I’m 57 w/extremely dry skin. I know you really know how dry skin is. If I was your age I think I could have worn it. Just a tip…over hydrate especially at night.

It'd be interesting to see a wear test with the foundation and the primer, the finish was very pretty. Shame the formula on the liquid lip was no good, the shade was beautiful on you! Hot tip for getting the sticker residue off, smear some mayonnaise over it, leave it over night, wipe it away next day.

The longest I've worn it so far was 8 hours and it wore well! I'll get some full day tests in one of these days :) I'm pre-filming all of the foundation reviews for the next couple months while I'm traveling so I'm wearing a different foundation every day lately!
