Yeah I agree with you the way we looking at it. But I understand why the players do what they do. Remember Earl Thomas, he played on a contract just like the 1 ba playing on and broke his leg and they let him go. Teams don't honor contracts neither, look at arik farmstead. They wanted him to take a pay cut which I felt he wasn't living up to what they was paying him. But I don't blame him, team need to honor there contract to. But 14.4 million ain't no chump change though but I see it from a player point of view and I see it from a team point of view and like yourself I see it from a fan point of view. Here’s what they do: pay him $31 million per year (exceeds Brown and Hill) for a 4 year extension + he plays under his 5th year option at $14 million. That averages $27.6 million per year over the 5 year term. Guarantee him half, or about $68 million. Fair deal on both sides.
Im a huge Aiyuk fan....BUTTTTTT we also gotta think about Brock next year. Our WR is pretty deep. Trading him will give JJ a chance to step up, and i think Ricky is going to be a really good WR. BA is great, he does so much in tge game, but to empty the bank on him...WR are like RB, there are lots that break out all the time.
I know this won’t be a popular opinion, but I personally think that they should trade him to the commanders, that team is bad and should be better this year but maybe if you can get Terri McLaurin and a third possibly a second round pick I would say that’s a come up and a win for the Niners, while the commanders, get a true number one receiver and somebody that is very familiar with their starting quarterback, that is a rookie might I add so everyone wins and we continue having a good business relationship with the commanders 🤷🏽♂️

@@chrisputnam4163 he was open on the go ahead score that's true but what about the rest of the game. He wasn't beating his defender. Brock was definitely looking his way during the game. They have the best connection on the team. If BA was beating his defender he would have gotten more touches.
He was wide open on the 49ers last drive, at the 5 yard line. He broke Snead ankle, left him in the dust. Purdy should have look Aiyuk way first before Jenning.

I been saying $28mil per year with like 50-60 guaranteed. Plus incentives. Its a 2 mil difference for both parties where theyre currently at in talks. Just make the compromise and lets get ready for our last run at a superbowl for a few years. 💯👌

Why could the 49ers have signed BA to a cheaper contract earlier this year? Lamb & Aiyuk were waiting for St. Brown and Jefferson to get paid and push up their apy value. Now it's a standoff between the league's WR pay structure and every WR1 wanting JJ money. I've changed my mind, I think Aiyuk will play on his 5th year rookie contract.
Kind of unfair for BA because he didnt get to prove his $30 mil worth during the Superbowl because Brock didnt go to him which is strange since I thought they had a connection all season. The "clean out day interview" with BA, words didn't mean a damn thing. His body language said everything n it was screaming he DIDN'T WANT TO BE THERE ANYMORE. I know it was a day or two after losing the SB but he was talking in those 2 days B4 but when he did that interview it is plain for everyone to see. Watch that interview and see. Let him go and lose year after year after year n then he will realize what he is walking away from.
Aiyuk doesnt belong in the 9ers. They look for humble players willing to put the team first. He was a disappointment until 2 years ago. I believe he's learned how to do his job in Shanahans system but it's not who he is. He'll b a locker room distraction like Diggs. I predict a similar career path.

At this point his asking price is not based on what he's accomplished it's based on what everyone else around him is getting which is based on what they accomplished. So I can see why the 49ers would be hesitant to want to pay him the money he's asking for
@@kennypowerz1267 Deebo is just injury prone but when healthy can take over a game. Aiyuk had several weeks to show he could take over without Deebo and failed till he came back
