Can't wait to showcase this on my VW channel. I have the earlier versions of this car and they are a lot of fun. They can be twitchy from time to time, very tough to drive in a straight line most of the time. And the range isn't that great on the transmitter but overall very fun.

Great video Ricky , I've been holding out for the bug version to come out I just can't decide on brushed or brushless. Brushless seems the way forward on all rc cars but I hear alot of people say they prefer the brushed version . If you could only own one what would it be.
I think bc with little cars brushless not that much faster and with rtr lower end remote we have more control with brushed . You right though brushless is way to go unless you only planned to use indoors or very little than might as well save a few bucks. I have few smaller rcs came with 2:1 esc brushed sucks have waste a whole system and get a new remote for 10 mph or so . I have used a couple till the motor goes brushless last alot longer hope that helps 🍻
brushed versions seems to perform better with the installed gyro but the brushless is a little quicker. Twitchy though at speed. difficult decision but the brushed is more than enough I reckon
@@beyondRC it's the torque generated with a brushed motor also gearing onto the shafts on 3s 🔋 battery esc set up.im running my ftx tracer bezgar 6 all stock electronics but all metal everything ball raced oil shocks 3s 2000mah.
I hope they improved the QC on the ESC. I bought the SG1604 brushless and it cogged and lagged horribly then eventually smoked. I swapped out the ESC, along with some other upgrades and now it's great!
Moral for this cars... Save money and get the brushed version. Better control and 3 or 4 mph less is irrelevant for a 1/16 scale that is not going to race, only drift for fun
@beyondRC cheers, you confirmed my suspicions, am looking at around 50 quid for the brushed beetle vs. Approx. 100 for the brushless MJX on banggood. Choices choices!
Brushed better for drifting as i feel the gyro performs better but if you want a little more speed then the brushless is best. You can never have the gyro on 100% it just makes it uncontrollable and twitchy on the brushless.
Great Video mate. Do you think you if I bought the Mini the Pine cone models SG1606 and if I could buy this Beetle body shell it will fit right on the mini
