Everything in Amygdala really happened to Suga. When he was a trainee, he worked as a delivery boy. He had a terrible accident on his scooter and messed up his shoulder. Because he was afraid Big Hit would drop him, he never told anyone and suffered many years with pain. He finally had surgery during the pandemic because all concerts were canceled. You’ll learn from his early solo songs that he suffered from depression, social anxiety, and OCD. Amygdala is the part of the brain that deals with past trauma.

No dirt sticks to their leaves either. Science found out it's because of the surface structure. I said this when the guys first uploaded the trilogy: the entire project as Agust D seems so cathartic for Yoongi. In the Suchwita epiisode with El Capitxn, Yoongi also brought up comments by old friends about a change expression in his eyes. And looking at Joonie's family pic on Insta, I agree.

All of their "BTS" songs or solo project songs are packed with meaning. Always assume there's more to them than the surface. Even the English bops or ballads are rich in meaning. You'll learn alot about them in all of their behind the scenes footage and their mountains of other content. In my case, as in the case of many Army, you get hooked by their talent but they earn unswerving loyalty by the kind of people they are. Did you know, that on each members birthday, as a gift Army fans around the world coordinate projects in their name and donate all the proceeds to charities that mean something to the boys? Did you know that every year around the anniversary of their debut and then the creation of their fandom (Festa), that Army makes a song as a gift back to them? It is a truly unique dynamic.

I heard that Suga made a solo album similar to a series. Using 3 title songs in 3 albums, namely the first song "Agust d" The second song is Deachwita. And the last song, Haegeum and Amygdala is a song that tells the story of Suga's past.

Daechwita: traditional Korean march, played for kings, army movements, etc. The two characters: Suga Rei (tyrant who kills opponents and dissenters) and poor Suga. At the fair, poor Suga appears with six friends (mention of the BTS). In the tent, a woman (mentioned by the Army) gives him the key to start the revolution. He and his 6 friends at King Suga's land arrive without fear. Here we see the drawing of Bang Si-hyuk, 'creator of BTS'. King Suga despises him and sentences him to death. Even tied up, on his knees, he continues singing Daechwita. (Is poor Suga the real king?). The other condemned men join the revolt, singing Daechwita. Finally, the executioner who was supposed to kill poor Suga also joins the revolt and frees him and gives him a weapon, with which he kills the tyrant king. Metaphor: the lower class 'bringing down the system', mentions BTS who started as a small, discriminated group, from a small bankrupt company, who were despised and disdained, but who ended up becoming the biggest Korean group in kpop, true kings from The Game. In the time of dynasties, the poor would never become part of the elite. Today the BTS that started small is the elite. The achievement was difficult, with a lot of 'blood, sweat and tears'. They 'overthrew' the dominant system of the Korean music industry, as they continue to do until now, overturning the arrogance and prejudice of the global music industry. BTS has a rap line: RM, Suga (Agust D for solo songs) and J-Hope. The first two started as underground rappers before being selected at Big Hit (their label). J-Hope was a competitive hip-hop/street dancer. When they were trainees at Big Hit, RM and Suga taught J-Hope how to rap. BTS also has a vocal line: Jungkook, Jimin, V, and Jin. There is also a dance line: J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook, and later V was added, but it’s mostly the first three, called 3J. Additional info: hyung line (hyung = older brother) is, in age order, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, and RM. Yes, the Leader RM is not the oldest. Maknae line (younger brother) in age order is Jimin, V, and Jungkook (who is the maknae or youngest). Both the rap line and vocal line have songs without the other line and perform their songs at concerts.

Sadly all the Amygdala lyrics are true, btw the amygdala is a part of the human brain that processes emotions and kinda 'creates' fear in our heads, he wrote the song based on a book named amygdala. Also when his accident happened he injured his shoulder and mentioned that the tire was right next to his face when he realised what had happened. He became a trainee but couldn't mention his injury to his family that had to deal with a lot of stuff already (lyrics) or company in fear of being cut of bts. A few years ago he had surgery since he couldn't even hold a waterbottle anymore. It got better afterwards but considering the accident happened before debut (2013) you can imagine how hard it must've been for him and still he carried on with everything and never rly mentioned it. Following you should definitely check out his whole first 2016 mixtape Agust D/the bsides with the lyrics. His other albums D-2 and D-Day r great too with a whole lot of amazing messages and lyrics so def worth giving it a listen too, he also had a solo tour in 2023 which broke a lot of records as well as the movie about it released in may 2024.

Suga and Jhope are obviously great. but you're sleeping on RM because it looks like you only reacted to Wildflower. I would say RM is the most experimental member out of the entire group and Wildflower is only one type of genre he does out of his diverse discography. Kind of like BTS as a whole since they did form BTS around RM when they started. Based on your song preferences so far, I would recommend 'Joke' and 'Do You', and 'Monster' from RM. The subtitles are not accurate in the video so you'll need the translations on doolset. RM is the main song writer in BTS. He is a poet. Understanding his lyrics is a must. He has double and triple entendres in his lyrics. At first listen, you might only catch the surface meaning...but as time goes on and you understand the members more and their story more, you'll realize the lyrics have deeper meaning. That's the fun in his music. you learn something new and hear something new every time you listen to it. I am a hip hop girl so i was initially drawn to the harder hitting rap songs from the rap line. But they have taught me that rap is not just about hard hitting beats and saying you're the shit ALL the time. The perfect example is RM's new album "Right Place Wrong Person". At first listen, it was confusing to me...but after each listen....you hear another layer of the music and it becomes a musical masterpiece. That album is NOT for your tiktok loving chorus chasers. Unfortunately, that is the mass population though. I am happy to see that ALL producers and musicians understand the masterpiece that it is and praise it very highly. There was a producer that even said that this album is "paving the way for hip hop. Not just kpop, but hip hop". That is a very powerful statement. They even said that if RM was an American rapper, this album would win a grammy. But because he's korean, it probably won't get the recognition it deserves. It is a true ALBUM. which means it should be listened to from beginning to end in one go to fully experience the art and musicality of it. I used to dismiss BTS as another poppy boyband and their 'rapline' were just rapper wannabes. There were 2 songs that made me start looking at them differently because of their passion and that their lyrics actually had meaning and meant something to them. Snooze was my favourite. I usually don't like interludes and don't understand them that much. But RM taught me what it was for. surprisingly, i really loved Suga's interlude 'Dive' on his D-Day album. and his song D-Day is pretty hard hitting too.

i feel yah Suga is my bias. RM is my bias wrecker. and my instant connection for having survived depression several times, that started when my mom died then my dad died a yr after. Suga is a depression survivor and hes my hero for always doing his best to tell his story and make depression, mental health as normal as he could, he wants the stigma to end and treat it like colds thats its not a weakness but a strength to even fight ur inner battles and that is to be human.

my family shames me and posts that im nuts, crazy and even send me private messages telling me repeatedly that im insane and crazy and im getting worse since i distanced myself from them, they insult me and belittle me and make fun of me all the time so i put my boundaries to them but i open up to only the closest friends i have, the ones i proved to be my genuine friends from college and highschool, a very selected few.

Im a 53yr old mom and a BTS Army, i teared up watching Amygdala with you guys! Thank you for your reaction and I'm happy you appreciate Agust D/Suga, and for the rest of us, our dear Yoongi. His lyricism is raw and vulnerable that tells about a story of his struggles and his personal life. That is why we are so connected to him and the rest of the members. They're sooo real and relatable. I know some rap and hiphop in my lifetime but its not really my kind of music. Im more of a Linkin Park and the likes but that is another story. However, I really learned to love rap and hiphop thru BTS' rapline. They have different takes, but all versatile in their crafts. Can you believe they're all in 1 group? Its like a one stop shop if you ask me. My army heart isn't able to pick favorites. Even among all their songs, its hard to pick favorites. Just the ones that you listened at the moment that gave the feels. I remember in one of my walks, I was listening to First Love (also from Suga) and I just bawled my eyes out. Anyways...if you have not seen Jhope's Lollapalooza live concert, you really should watch it! But let me tell you, don't sleep on RM lol. BORAHAE!
