Was using a 9mm handgun before I had this product. Now the police don’t have to show up anytime I see a spider or a sky raisin! Thanks Bug-a-salt team!!
Have had my 3.0 for a couple years now. Also bought one for each of my kids since they all have pets in the house. My son-in-law sends me videos of him taking out various bugs. I taught my granddaughter to rack it and yell out, "Ok, who wants some?" hehe
Thanks for the info about moisture. Here by the beach my salt got all caked up and I wondered how to clean out the magazine. I'll gie it a flush with some water since I have it all cleaned of sticky salt. BTW I need some higher powered ammo for the YellowJacket wasps. Those are some tough guys that seem to like the salt massage!??!
I used the cleaning instructions @3:55 and the gun starting working effectively again , but after a few days, no salt coming out again and no bugs getting killed. Isn't there an acceptable alternative to using salt in humid areas? This is exactly what I was afraid of when I bought the gun. I've used it to kill hundreds of bugs, especially spiders in my house, but now it's becoming more trouble than it's worth if I have to clean it every few days. Some say cayenne pepper works well without clogging.
How come u guys didn't reply to my comment? There are so many awesome additional add ons u could put on this gun, and I have a ton of ideas I want to pitch to you.
I've got mine a few days ago and I must say it's awesome - that was exactly what was missing in my life and I didn't know it. Can you make a special edition out of metal? hahaha I would buy it. But beside that a pica tinnyrail would be awesome. I know it's silly but I would really, really like to have a red dot on this :). Who does put a red dot on a shotgun?
Hi, I'm afraid of house centipedes and use this regularly. The 3.0 variety is extremely effective against house centipedes at range, even the old 2.0 models were very good. They get totally ripped to shreds.
If the inventor admits his own brand of salt is larger grain, then there shouldn't be any problem using epsom salt. I don't want any salt at all in the garden soil. Epsom would be harmless, but so would sand. I also want one that will scar the shit out of the neighbor cat, but I won't be able to get a shot any closer than 20 feet.
You guys have brought an awesome, useful, and unique product to the market. Before I got a bug-a-salt, I was using a .50 muzzleloader with only a primer and some cornmeal. It worked great, but it embeds cornmeal into drywall, and turns insects into a moist stain. My wife is MUCH happier with me now that i got one of these. Seriously though, if you're reading this comment, and have any interest at all in shooting, you should get a bug-a-salt.
I love these guns. However I have 2 issues. The first is what you charge for salt is outrageous....the second is, I just bought the Shred-er. I love the power of the co2 propellant, but no where on your website does it say that you can't leave the C02 cylinder in the gun more that 24 hours or you make brake the gun. Why is this not clearly stated on your website before purchasing? When you remove it from the gun the cylinder empties and you have to load a fresh one in the gun to use it again. This could get expensive with a quickness. Those packs of 5 C02 cylinders are not cheap, and using them like this, you'll be going through much $$$ in just propellant. I have several c02 powered bb and pellet guns that don't require this. Is this just how the gun is designed? If so you need to clearly state this for people to see before buying it. I'm not returning the one I recently bought, but I wouldn't have bought it had I known before hand.
Just bought one for 50 bucks. Totally worth it. Thanks, bud. Edit: Ive never shot a firearm but incapacitating wasps is pretty easy for having zero experience. Im sure my aim will sharpen but for now Ive trimmed down the wasps going for my pet food. I just throw the food out when im done. Seriously worth it though. Im cranking through wasps right now 😂
I had the original Bug A Salt 1.0. After a few years, the cap for the salt broke off so I taped it. Then it jammed up. Couldn't rack it. Wouldn't take salt. Tried to flush the thing, but didn't work and gave up. Picked up 3.0 black fly edition yesterday and HUGE improvement. Better salt cap, more powerful shots, better grip, and I LOVE that I don't have to hit the safety every damn time to shoot. I shot 50+ flies and roaches yesterday. Fun fun fun
A sticker on top of the Bug-A-Salt says "USE EYE PROTECTION WHILE OPERATING", but I guess you don't really have to because the guy in the video doesn''t. Evidently more concerned with trying to be funny and just forgot.
Grabbed the Realtree3 just over a month ago, very happy. High humidity here but no issue with salt jams yet. Congrats on an amazing product and good luck for the future
I got one for my grandfather to use to have a little more entertainment rather than using Raid, etc. Anyway, it's a little too difficult for him to pump between shots. Does anybody have any advice that I can use to help him out?
Lol I was gifted one of these bad boys for Christmas to handle spiders. I'm an arachnophobe so being able to shoot at two-three feet away from them is cathartic.
I ordered the Shred-Er kit for use against carpenter Bees and wasps....It has done a fantastic job Though I would like to say there can be improvements made to increase it's effectiveness. I would like to contact the CEO and address a few things for an improved Shred-Er design and possibly a future model to be offered that would be an even better flying insect solution.
I don't really understand though. This is pointless in the house right? Who wants salt sprayed everywhere? I'm not sure why anybody would actually buy this...
It really is just a pinch and it spreads so evenly that it doesn't really matter. It hits every fly even in corners or where the swatter doesn't. Furthermore, you can even hit them during flight, which is much harder with a swatter. When you stand further away, it sprays wider and you have a good chance of bringing them to the gound. Also, i find swatter kind of gross. The salt rifle never touches the insects. Doesn't leave squished guts on the wall unlike a swatter either. And last but not least, it's ust plain fun!
This is a work. The item doesn't work. It's a joke gun. This is a prank. The reviews are fake. The video is literally a skit. The bug laser gun causes cancer in California. Buyer beware😜
this product is very much real and works great for me. it makes what used to be an annoyance turn into a fun competition of who can shoot more bugs also idk what bug laser you're talking about but everything causes cancer in California lol
I'm not sure this is 100% legal to own without a gun license of some description, it seems this business model is skirting the law for the time being with the paintball act 2018
I’ve had mine (3.0) for about an hour 😂. It’s windy so not to many bugs right now but I did get a few. Great way to use up any old salt that’s good & dry. 🪰🦗🕷️
