And even though this is French themed, with Marie Antoinette vibes, and prices being what they are, I managed to avoid saying, “let them eat cake,” and for that, I am proud of myself 😂
@@SuperEnthused ive opened restaurants from Savannah to Vegas. I was totaling up the restaurant cost per item....and all I can say is Ive never ever seen upcharges like these ever anywhere. Let them eat cake indeed....
Literally stopped what I was doing when you mentioned Picard's famous Earl Grey line. I see you, girl. I think about him every. single. time I drink Earl Grey. :) Great videos, btw.
This is something for maybe a BIG birthday or Anniversary! But wow $123.00 for one person (however, that would feed four people, but I'm sure that is frowned upon) and you didn't even get steak. Yeah, only for something super special. So, thank you for the share.
Yea I brought most of it home, Sam ate some, and we still have some left for lunch today! But like I said, this would be a place I’d go for a nice little something different or special experience, but not a go to or somewhere I’d go very often. And it’s good to have places like that I think.
As a Hoosier, we get our daughters, moms, or lady friends all dressed up to go to the Cake Bake in Indy. I love the Raspberry Champagne Cake. Soooo good! And you can only eat like 1/2 a serving of anything so you can share or take it home for a second meal. But the environment itself is such a treat! We love it, but just every once in a while because it is special and boujie 😊❤
Being from near Indianapolis, I’ve been to the original, but the prices in Indy aren’t near that much. The cake is outrageously good. That cake in Indianapolis is $16
$25 for a slice of cake is crazy. I just paid $24 for 30 cupcakes. I probably won’t be visiting the cake bake shop anytime soon. It looks beautiful though.
If I am going to splurge at the Boardwalk, it’s going to be at The Flying Fish. The ambience is more my style at the Flying Fish and the dinner/desserts are amazing there. Personally, this place is not my cup of tea and I feel like it would have been better suited at the Grand Floridian. But always a pleasure to watch a Super Enthused vid! 💛
Always wish there was a "French" restaurant outside of Epcot. The food looked very nice. The pricing is a bit higher...most seafood restaurants on the beach will be around $20 for a crab cake appetizer, but $32 for the Po' Boy, $10 for Tea... Earl Gray... Hot... is about 25% inflated. The cake slice is big enough to be shared with 2-3 people, so $25 isn't that bad. But I feel it's location at the Boardwalk seems a bit out of place and would probably of fit in better at Disney Springs. I'm interested in seeing how it looks with the Christmas decorations. Thanks, Sam #2.
You're a class act. Dressed to match the decor of the place. We always look forward to your streams and this one didn't disappoint. On the other hand, we saw a stream of the same restaurant from one of your fellow streamers. She had no sense of decorum and was dressed in a tee shirt and looks like she just finished cleaning bathroooms at McDonalds. Cheers to you and your etiquette excellence.
I am so floored by the prices. Oh my Gosh, Disney. People are struggling. And Disney just says, "'Let them eat cake! Just make sure it's $25 a slice!" Oh my word, I almost fell out of my chair. The menu at the beginning...freaking granola and yogurt is $20. WHAT?!" Everyone, make sure to like and share! We have to get Jackie’s money back on this. 🤣 Thank you my gal for sharing your experience.
Hahaha thank u for helping me recoup my expenses! 😂 I think it will be a nice experience for some people, but it’s definitely not for everyone and that’s ok.
@@SuperEnthused thank YOU for taking one for the team. This reminded me of the high tea that Grand Floridian had. My husband and I managed to snag a reservation in October 2018 - just in time because they closed it shortly after that. Perhaps sometime for Christmas I’ll swing by and splurge for a slice. 😜 Might have to take out loan though… jk jk.
So pretty inside!! And so is your shirt Jackie! Definitely expensive but portions are huge and easily shareable and seems very upscale. Would do it for a special occasion or celebration.
Disney Execs calling in Jackie like The Wolf in Pulp Fiction. “Relax fools, yes the one slice of cake is $50, but do you see it? I SAID ARE YOU LOOKING AT IT? What are you going to invest that $50 in otherwise some stocks and sh@$? You gotta live your life man.” 😂
This is soooo neat! Food looks wonderful! Could almost smell it! Not seeing any other influencers taping this new restaurant! You go girl! Love your staycations and cruises! Keep up the good work! 😊
The company is from Indiana.... right around the corner from where I live. Excited to see them expand as they are super tasty but...still ridiculously pricey regardless. Sorry but $35 for a po boy is bananas. Even for Disney...especially with all of the choices in Orlando..
Fancy place=Fancy prices. I would definitely go there for special occasions. That's a huge menu selections. I hope they have afternoon tea. I use to take my mother to Grand Floridian when they used to have afternoon tea service for Mother's Day.
To put it in perspective….I live near both Indiana locations and go to the one in Carmel. I added up what you had with the prices at the Carmel location and came up with $108.00. The cake is less (listed at $17) in Carmel but the pot of tea and crab cake are more expensive. So the difference was only $8! Granted it will depend on what you order but I was surprised how little the difference was. Also to note, here in Indiana you can buy discounted Cake Bake gift cards at Costco which saves about 20%. There are limitations what it can be used for but it is good for dining and bakery. I do visit for special occasions but usually just go to the bakery for take out. I love her buche de noel cake during Christmas.
Love love love Cake Bake Shop.....been several times as I live only 15 mins from Indiana location....thanks Jackie for the great review.....amazing experience!!
Jackie, what a wonderful video. For me, that restaurant looks like a must-do at least one time and while it is expensive, it would be worth it to me for the entire experience and gorgeous atmosphere - day or night. Random side-note: I hold my fork in my right hand and knife in my left hand too when I eat - I've never seen anyone else do that! I've tried switching, but it doesn't "feel" right, 😄- anyone else?
When you have prices like that you better deliver. From what I've heard so far they do. I question whether something this fancy will thrive on the boardwalk with a bunch of theme park tourists, but time will tell. That po-boy looks amazing! Great review Jackie.
Im so glad you liked the food! I think it’s a one of experience you do it once and done. Thank you for reviewing for us! Unless I go with you really doubt my boys will want to go with me here 😂 I can hear them now “this is to fancy”
Haha yes it does have kind of a frilly feminine vibe. And I think it’s ok that it’s not for everyone. But it’s nice for those who enjoy it. For me it would be a once in a while type of thing.
@@SuperEnthused I’ll invite you to go with me when I’m down there! Because I will need a friend to join me 😂 I think it’s beautiful for sure and the food looks good and fresh so I would like to experience it for sure!
Really interesting video, but $25 (£19.25) for a slice of cake, is just well bonkers. You could almost buy most of Greggs here in the UK for a slice of that cake 🤣😁 Lucky they boxed it up for you, and Sam got to have a try. I don't really understand the concept if I am honest, it was neither fine dining nor "themed" so it was as you said all a bit out of theme. They are obviously going to do a roaring trade, but a fool and their money are easily parted....
Yea it’s weird and I agree with your take that I’m not sure what they’re going for, but it is pretty and different and Sam is literally eating the rest of the cake slice right now hahaha! He loves it.
Hey Jackie, great video from The Cake Bake Shop Restuarant-Disney FL..Fine place, good food and nice waterfront view..Enjoy your Friday into the weekend..
Interestingly, this isn’t a Disney restaurant, even tho it’s at Disney world. I give all the back stories and of course my honest review and experience in the vlog. Hope u enjoy. And hope u enjoyed my UK vids!!
Thank you Jackie! As always your representation is perfect! You looked so lovely and it is such a beautiful place! Food looked fantastic as well. I just got back from staying at the Boardwalk and walked by there a few times and there was a line with special guests and I assumed it was for the owners and cast to enjoy everything before opening! I guess I just have to find a way to come back! That cake looked wonderful!
Thank you so much!! I tried to dress up a bit to fit the decor, and I really tried to do a good job and give an honest, fair and thorough experience! I really appreciate your comment!
People! Stop hating ! I wish them all the best. The place is beautiful. Food is good. I can't afford this place so what? Remember Gwendolyn supports all people working for this place. Just find another place to eat. Thank you for the good review
At first I thought the prices were ridiculous! But when I saw the portion sizes, I realized you could feed 2-3 people and have a lovely experience for that cost. I think it is justified for a special occasion. Especially since the service was so good.
If you consider that it's $62 per person for one of those crappy character interaction restaurants, then paying double that for an elegant restaurant with high-quality ingredients isn't that bad. Also, it seems like the portions there are big enough to share .
Even though I know I won't be stopping in often, thanks for this review!! As someone who bakes, I love bakeries and wanted to know what the hype was about! It's no Vicky Bakery, but it still looks good!! 😂🍰 you're the best Jackie!
Arugula or Rocket for your UK fans😂 Nice big servings. That cake slice was a meal in itself😂 You wished all over your cake! Did Sam enjoy it? Did you share the coloring sheet? I'll definitely try here next visit, whenever that is.
Wow Jackie , it looks amazing but i agree with you , very expensive , we would have shared your meal between two as it was huge but $25 dollar for a piece of cake? think ill stick with Gideons cake slice , great vlog
$123 without tip. 😂 for one person. Imagine 2 or family of 4 or more. Insane. Paying for decor and location. Something to try once but no more. Unless you got money to blow. Thank you for the review. ❤
Great job reviewing! I dont think the restaurant will survive very long. It will be a one and done with rich folks, like the Star Wars hotel. Just my opinion.
Fantastic Review! I was planning on just having a slice of cake and a tshirt LOL! But now I absolutely have to try to get in to split that shrimp with my husband and cake. No way could I eat all of that and we are in a resort so taking home, not so much. Its going to be stunning for Christmas and we are celebrating our 60th birthdays and 30th anniversary this year on our trip. Also.... next time tell us the cost of Brulee and friends because omgoodness!!!
That is a huge sandwich! I'm not a fishy person...well, maybe my late wife would have disagreed with that statement...but looked like there were plenty of other choices on that menu. Pricing though...it would have to be a very special event for me to spend that much. But I do love cake. Thanks for sharing this with us though. I agree with someone below, I like your shirt as well. Very nice and love to you and Sam.
Thx for the early review! The decor looks fabulous and the care and attention to detail looks stunning. The prices will always be a talking point but it reminds me of going to Afternoon Tea at a really nice country or London restaurant here in the UK. It’s something you do for a special occasion rather than an everyday visit. I think most of us thought it would be a really nice grab and go bakery when it was announced as that’s what we are used to on property (especially at the Boardwalk) but it’s more like a place for a special once every so often occasion. I agree the theme is a little at odds with the Boardwalk but it really does fit with the French Pavilion which must be right behind it! It will be lovely to see it decorated for Christmas and hopefully the care and attention to detail will help make it a success - maybe we just need to reframe how we see it in relation to the normal restaurants and eateries on property. It’s certainly something we haven’t seen before and maybe adds something new and some variety if you’re on holiday and have a really special occasion like you’ve got engaged or married at Disney or have made a trip to celebrate an anniversary.
That's so crazy on the dietary abilities crossover . You just use a clean spoon or something like everyone in a teeny apartment or house or dive does. It's not that hard. . Separate fryers and utensils is all it is.. I had to when I cooked in restaurants and at home ... but woe it looks so bright and white in there .. thanks for sharing this place I would try if I could ever make it that way.. I don't do seafood but my other half would love it...
We have 2 near where we live and I’ve been to one for take out cake and goodies. Maybe it’s because I’m only used to Indy prices now, but it’s just normal priced for here.😅 I thought this would look great at the GF but I see why they would want it there. If you stay at the yacht club or beach club this is what you expect in a restaurant. This would also steal business from Narcoossees. I can’t wait to see what little animatronics they put at the top. I just hope they don’t take them from the ride and just base them on the ride. 😊Great video and now I want to go to the cake bake. ❤❤ Editing to add: I love sweets and I couldn’t eat and entire piece of cake from there at once. It’s crazy rich!
The prices don’t seem outrageous to me. in Hollywood you would easily pay $200 to 300 for a cake. Even Dollywood has a apple pie that is $ 100 or more. And you could easily feed two or tree people with that po boy
Hi Jackie! We live one town over from the Carmel, IN Cake Bake Shop. Never been, too expensive. It looks like it belongs in the GF, especially if they are going to offer afternoon tea. Maybe it would've been nice in the France Pavillion. I'm sure the desserts are good, but not $25+ good.
I had no idea they were a restaurant too! I thought it was just a bake shop Lol. Not gonna lie, it looks way too fancy for me to enter the building without having some fancy pants on and a non t-shirt Lol! The food looks really good though and the prices are really not that horrible is far as Disney goes for a lunch or dinner. I see why half of that Po Boy made it home to Sam, that was huge! lol The dessert menu is still a bit pricey, but I'm a sucker for a good cake and can be easily persuaded to dress up and spend $25 for a slice 😂 It looks Amazing!..Thanks for tempting me Jackie lol
Wow, $125 for lunch and they gift you a sprinkle of Walmart glitter for your birthday. 😏 I’ve happily bought into practically every Disney experience during 100+ stays at WDW but this restaurant is absurd. 🤯
I live in Central Indiana so I go to the Cake Bake in Carmel, IN on a regular basis to celebrate various things, and yeah, it's a hefty price tag. I mean, it's not the best food I've ever eaten, but with everything like this (and Disney) you go for the experience many times over the food. Clearly, she raised the prices at the Disney shop to match the "Disney prices" but still. The food/cakes isn't worth that price tag.
