Otherwise, they could have easily used Concacaf English feed, Mexican or American feeds. Wheeler's calls are used everywhere from Argentine commercials to TSN to BT.
John was my coach while I was growing up! It is amazing to see him go from coaching me 5-10 years of age to leading a nation into the World Cup. He has not changed at all. He says the same stuff to these top level players as he said to us academy boys.
I'm Canadian, moved to the USA when I was 14. I've watched every Second of Canada's Qualifying, and I can't wait til Qatar. Ive waited my whole life to see Canada in the World Cup, and I cant believe it's 3 weeks away. Go Les Rogues!
In french 'g' makes a soft 'g' sound when followed by the letters e, i and y. Otherwise it makes a hard 'g' sound So it bothers me a bit that you misspelled the last word because that would be 'rog' instead of 'rooj'

I was at THAT game vs Panama last October. Fun fact, it wasn't supposed to be a full crowd until restrictions were lifted last minute. As a result, the staff were unprepared to deal with the amount of people and lines were suuuppper long. We watched the first 30 minutes of the game in the parking lot. Thank God someone had enough data and a stream!
A brilliant documentary. I'm so proud of these lads. To come out of this region on top...to beat the Mexicans and the Americans, I couldn't be more proud to be Canadian. It's going to be tough and I know, most people don't give us much of a chance, but if we play as a team and give it our all, we could surprise the soccer world. I'm 66 and I know one thing, we have the talent to score some goals, something we weren't able to achieve in 1986. No matter what happens, John Herdman, the rest of the coaching staff and the players have made this country so proud. I love this game, played it when I was younger and I hope, no I know the boys will play their hearts out. GO CANADA GO!!!!🇨🇦🇨🇦
As a 37 year old I was one the last time we competed in the world cup. This run has been so magical. Being able to see our flag and our country represented in the world cup will be an absolute dream come true. Thank you for this :)
It's a good series, fun rewatching these moments. But they missed some opportunities to really tell just how big these games were. They should show the results of the previous times we've played at azteca - how even a draw was an amazing and rare result. They should show our rise up the fifa rankings after each window. With the Haiti game in a previous video they should have shown how the last time out they came back to beat us and knock us out of the gold cup. They just need to build up the legend a little more.
Good point. That context is critical to understanding how extraordinary this rise has been. The show has been awesome, but you're definitely correct that it should paint this qualifying campaign as the pinnacle of a long journey, rather than as the entire journey on its own.
Great to relive these special moments. For me, the Davies goal was the moment I realized this was a serious team and got my attention to the national team. Can't wait to support in a few weeks

I love how they show the faces of the Canadians after the Mexican goal. Doubt sets in, and why wouldn't it? Playing in Azteca, down 1-0. But they showed their resolve, and earned a huge draw, and moral victory. That couldn't have been easy. Go Canada!

This a big deal for Canada! The problem is the group we are in. Belgium came in third last world cup and Croatia came in second! These are going to be very difficult first round matches.
Mexico game was all Canada. After they tied it up , they keep coming in waves and never gave up. I recall the ref stopping the game to slow momentum down. All this against racist fans throwing slurs, food , and drinks onto the team and field. Pathetic really. No room for this garbage. Too bad FIFA decided not to take action.
