Riders, welcome back to Sam's Bikes where we only talk about e-bikes and today its the mini review of the brand new Canyon Neuron:ONfly the first sub 20kg ebike from Canyon.
In this video, we will be discussing the specifications of the new Neuron:ON Fly Super Light from Canyon. We will also take a POV ride and provide a brief review after testing it for two days at Canyon HQ. Furthermore, we will discuss the sizes and models available and share our likes and dislikes about the bike.
Allow me to introduce you to the brand new Canyon Neuron:ON Fly. It rolls on 29-inch wheels, has 140mm of suspension both in the front and rear, and is powered by the Bosch SX motor, delivering 55nm of torque and a massive 600 watts of peak power. It comes with a 400wh internal battery, and you can add a 250wh range extender. The starting price is sub 5000 euros.
I hope you enjoy this different style of RU-vid review of the Canyon Neuron:ON Fly 2024 from Sam's Bikes. As always, if you have any questions, just ask!
We would also like to thank our amazing sponsors, Schwalbe, Quad Lock, Crankbrothers, and Topeak, for making this possible. And we would like to express our gratitude to each and every rider for their support.

Good summary there Sam. Get the Pike version which has a slightly beefier setup. Not sure if the PIke can be air shaft swapped out to go 150mm but I'd still take it any day over the Fox34. Looks like a fun bike. Thanks for the review

Agreed completely it never met my spec I went for the 2024 Cube stereo AT instead with fox 38 170mm and 160 float X on rear with Magic mary 2.4 upfront and big bettey 2.4 at the rear its a great tyre size plenty speed plenty grip! XT all round Bosch Gen 4 smart system 750w battery bike all in weights 24kg front carbon frame alloy rear, actually this was the selling point for me The alloy rear! Nice and stiff at the rear no carbon flex like I feel on alot full carbon frames this I think is just Genius! It was £4500 on sale pretty much same price got alot more bike! I wanted a German manufacturer this time aswell!

I'm also exactly 183cm but I'm used to and really like 475-480 reach. I normally ride all Large MTB. I feel like a 460 reach on the medium would feel way too cramped but like the idea of it being more playful. Anyone think I it would be ok to just put a 60mm stem on this to make it a 475mm reach and be good to go? Or, put like a 35mm stem on the size large, to give a 475mm reach, down from the 485mm?
@SamsBikes
@SamsBikes 27 дней назад
Hey mate thanks for the comment! I’m 183cm and I really liked how this bike felt I would not be going to the large but I like small bikes. I personally feel a 60mm would be a mistake on this bike will change the feel ALOT! Maybe better the large with a 32mm stem
@smuffat89311
@smuffat89311 27 дней назад
@@SamsBikes Do you usually ride a large? do you have a specific reach you like or is it more all about feel to you and you like bikes with different reach depending on that? My problem is that I don't have a chance to demo a canyon that I know of in my location.

I keep wondering if that LT e-bikes are for me if I can regularly do trail rides around 25km 1000m up in 2.5-3h. Would I do much more laps on such light e-bike? I like the weight and less noise but should I better think of full power e-bike?
@SamsBikes
@SamsBikes 2 месяца назад
Hey Rider I don’t think you will do more laps it’s the ride quality is different on a big Long Travel ebike you loose the feeling of the trail but on this style it feels like your there
@janwilczewski3469
@janwilczewski3469 2 месяца назад
@@SamsBikes Thank you Sam! I am aware that the ride quality is way different between a light and a full power ebike. But if I am capable of doing pretty big rides on my analog 160/150mm travel bike and my weight is 75kg, the light ebike is not much for me as it wont give me many more laps? Or if I can ride like 3h /25km / 1000m up on analog, would I ride 5hours on light ebike? I am not a great fan (yet) of full power ebikes due to weight and noise but if my goal is to do more laps is light ebike not really for me with my fitness level? I know its hard to tell... watched tons of videos.. still dont know. Probably would need to test such bike myself but it is not really possible where I live so looking for some guideance :)
@SamsBikes
@SamsBikes 2 месяца назад
@janwilczewski3469 oh I get you! Yes a SL ebike would be perfect for you then! They really are designed to feel more like analog bikes but more ups and more downs
@jasper_of_puppets
@jasper_of_puppets 2 месяца назад
@@janwilczewski3469 It's really going to depend on how you use the motor and assistance level with these lightweight bikes with a smaller battery. If you keep it in eco mode, you can do more laps. But if you crank up the power, it's more about getting through the climb faster, than it is about doing long distances. However.... if you get the range extender battery, that will def help you get more laps in!

If I’m wanting an all around trail bike as in also doing medium enduro routes at my weight of 93kg and 176cm height the bike definitely needs 36’s on the front - at 8k Canyon is selling you short - no problem on the trail you were riding as that could easily be done on the cheapest of XC bikes

Not sure why you comment on wait 19kg is the average for SL bike. Anything lighter and they likely taken material out of the frame meaning it won't be as strong.

@@SamsBikes Thank you very much. I used to spend a lot of time in this region. I almost worked for them and know a woman who works there, in the canteen. Maybe you saw her. I was just on the side of Canyon. The prices are really good. What I find a pity: it is advertised that the bike weighs under 19 kg, and the prices are below 5000 €. And then the top model is driven, which of course costs 8000 €. Canyon really cost the whole thing. If you were allowed to be there for two days. Like all the others.

@jasper_of_puppets 2 месяца назад
@@sdtrailrider8070 And the Trance Elite has a full power 85nm motor! I think having that full power on tap when you want it is worth the extra weight! @sdtrailrider8070
@sdtrailrider8070 2 месяца назад
@@jasper_of_puppets I agree! You certainly don't feel the weight at all on the trail. I have a 160 on mine too. Any idea how much extra travel you'll gain by up stroking the shock?
@jasper_of_puppets
@jasper_of_puppets 2 месяца назад
@@sdtrailrider8070 Going up to a 55mm stroke shock (from the OEM 52.5mm) will bump rear travel up to around 147mm. Technically, it's a 6 2/3mm increase, so I just round up. I did it on my old 2019 Trance E+, and it felt great. So I can only assume it will be even more awesome on the lightweight Trance Elite.
