As a young dude all my life I have known nothing but every industry getting worse for the consumer. Literally every industry, retail, streaming, movies, cars, homes, appliances, basic goods, video games, jobs, job security etc etc. I just want to see the system break sometimes. There is no hope for anything to get better. It is what it is I guess. Life just gets worse.
I'm with you brother but as someone who's lived in other countries and seen how other people live, there is a lot to be grateful for living in the US. We live better than 70% of the world. It does get tiring seeing not just our country but our world seemingly going to proverbial shit. I get the frustration still. Grinding away your life to feel like you're barely making it but sometimes when things seem like it's terrible, I try to remember all the things I actually do have. The small things like. Pillow and a soft mattress. Privacy in my home or room, people that actually care about me like friends or family. Pets maybe. Being able to open a box and pick from a multitude of food options even though none of those options ever seem to be what I actually want. The ability to just walk or have eye sight is a gift. Stuff like that we may take for granted. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to take any away strife you may be going through, I don't know your situation. Just don't let the doom and gloom completely destroy your spiritual, physical and mental well being. You can still enjoy life with very little. Keep your head up. Everyday you can open your eyes is a gift.
@@2amichaelj I am actually very happy with a lot in my life. I actually try to be greatful for what I do have. Something I think a lot of people miss. We have so many comforts it's crazy. Watching history and how a majority of humanity lived puts a lot into perspective. But I'm also being realistic. Every civilization goes through declines. It's kinds annoying being around for our decline. Hopefully we don't have some giant horrible collapse but I very much doubt anything will get significantly better. Quality of life will continue to drop.
@@2amichaelj Agree, we should be happy for what we have. But, as times progress - for how much longer will we even have these things that we take for granted? There are places near unis where rooms go for 1.3k/month. Milennials didn't have to deal with that, we do. I don't know what will happen, but as the current trend goes, we won't be better off than 70% of the world for long IMHO.
But seriously, F these car makers and their exorbitant price hikes. No one should pay anywhere near the MSRP. They hike the price by 50%, then maybe take 10% off and declare it to be a big sale? That is being bamboozled.
@@alexorozco7075 $1,000 vs $80,000 Now factor in that the $80,000 will depreciate instantly when you buy it and will constantly be needing hundreds of dollars in fuel just to operate while it slowly falls apart. The value of the overpriced thing matters. People can afford to overpay on $7 water bottles at a festival…
Manufactures are out of touch with Americans .... The problem is dealers and manufacturers kind of both wanted to dip their hands in the cookie jar of squeezing Americans .... The truth is you need to be earning 6 figures today to be able to afford these prices.
0:19 This is the reason I dont listen to people who aren't out there. Car prices are still out of control because subcompacts are pushing 30k and "full size SUV" are costing as much as supercars.
They are already 2 years soon to be 3 years depreciated. Don't fall for it. If it's 3 years old offer them the KBB value on a 3 year old car. Forget msrp. One tried that with me. 3k off. I'm umm no. Its already depreciated 7k sitting here
They're screwing us up here in Canada. Like literally they just aren't shipping cars here while lots in the US are stuffed to overflow capacity. Makes no sense to me. Toyota's are still a 10 - 18 month waitlist you need to sign up for.
US lots are stuffed with cars neither Americans nor Canadians want. Cars like Jeeps, Dodges, Chrysler etc. Trust me, the cars we do want like the Toyota Corolla, are at a pathetically low 26 day supply. Here in Dallas, a base bare model 2024 Corolla LE gasoline sedan is going for 27k USD out the door including dealer markups and forced pre-installed accessories. And we don't get the heated front seats and other features your special Canadian Corollas get standard
@@johnkonde1975Toyota's here are on an 10 - 18 month wait list still. Like they're still doing the covid style order the car and maybe it will come in some day style stuff. All manufacturers still have "supply chain issue" warnings on their site despite every other industry on earth being back to normal. And yeah, even Ford, Chrysler, Hyundai etc has those warnings up on. Their Canadian sites. Go take a look.
It's not that Japanese automakers don't value Canadian market. Some automakers like Honda have massive factories in Canada. The reality is there are different rules depending on US state. I think for legal reasons, Carb States are given priority in receiving hybrids and plug-in hybrids. Also, Toyota's domestic manufacturing capacity is maxed out at around 14,000-15,000 vehicles per day. Currently, there is not enough production capacity relative to demand, which is causing the long waiting time. But every automaker remembers what happened during previous economic cycles when demand imploded and they had to downsize, fast and hard. They're always super scared adding capacity for that reason.
Right now I’m in the market to buy a new car and it’s absolutely crazy how hard it’s been to find a fairly priced car. A Toyota dealership had a Toyota Corolla hybrid with around 15k miles and 2 owners for only 500 dollars less than it would be for a BRAND NEW ONE! And that being said, it’s not like that’s cheap, it’s around 25k for a Corolla hybrid.
Toyota’s dealerships are tough. Toyota’s sell themselves due to the long term reliability and dependability. Keep at it. You will find one that gives you what you want 👏
Who cares about MSRP? That's a invented number too. Just ignore the numbers. Offer what the car is worth to YOU. That is the market. Not what they dictate. What someone is willing to pay for something is what is worth.
That's part of the problem. There is a large percentage of people out there with deep pockets that still pay for cars at MSRP and above. Until people stop buying, nothing will change.
The price varies due to the demographic breakdown, culture, and climate of the area. A Nissan Rogue may sell for less in an area in TX as they prefer the American made Equinox. The Camry selling less in one city could mean the residents prefer crossovers. The data in each city could provide more insight. Great video!
The best advice i can give when purchasing a new car today would be to have patience & do youre due diligence when searching for the right vehicle for you're lifestyle dont get too little or too much get what works best for you and your budget if you see multiple cars with the same trim level you can negotiate on the price if the dealership where you are is at a different number i'm sure they would match it or reduce the msrp just alittle more than the car you were comparing it too and always be willing to walk away even from a good deal they might call you back after you leave with a final offer where you have the upper hand and option to take it or opt out of the deal
These sales numbers are misleading. These ram, chevy and Ford trucks were not bought by consumers but by dealerships. They are sitting all over dealer lots. Manufacturers report them as sold when they leave the factory, not when a person actual buys them.
Be an adult. She is sharing the data that “should” be alarming. All signs point to disaster but, as you so eloquently pointed out, hasn’t happened. Bottom line. Take the data, listen to pro and anti arguments and make your own conclusions. She’s pretty smart. The fact that the market has no sanity and doesn’t move practically isn’t her fault
I know what click bait means because I can compare it to a lot of the other you tubers I’m subscribed to. But I’m confused. Do you think this was click bait? I think it was useful information just repeating most you tubers. Anyway thanks for sharing 👍
I agree I was looking at Mazdas and the past 3 months the price in creased by about 2000 dollars. I dont know if they did it right before memorial day to pretend like they were having a sale when they discount , but I was trying to wait for the end of june to buy one
What website are you using to show these deals? I think many people are cutting back at the same time the manufacturers were ramping up premium models.
Discount levels for similar vehicles depend on many factors, including local market, as well as days on the lot. Dealer hold back is huge when it comes to discounting.
It is really difficult to determine what a vehicle is actually selling for. An internet price below msrp usually is a price determined by taking into account numerous incentives that the average buyer doesn't qualify for.
Texas one is likely forced to cut prices first given the state has a very high property tax you must pay on the car every year, not counting the one time sales tax. I think the car property tax every year is around 6.25%.
What I learned is when you see below msrp there is some bs that makes up for it, I just gave up on toyota it's insane what they are asking many want a dealership markup
You say that the two Sierra trucks you looked at are not the same trim, but both are Denali trim. Did you mean that they had different options within the same trim, something that other manufacturers don't even allow? Or do you mean they have different body configuration, again something that isn't always seen on other vehicles? Just trying to understand the comparison and why the difference.
markets are local and dealers are bent...... we're back to normal, buyer beware, car salesmen are adept at finding idiots and separating them from their money.
Generaly the new market is an indicator for the used market, but isn't a one to one. The used market usualy trails behind the new market, as supply goes up the price should go down.
every vehicle from 2017 till are junk. over priced. they know these Home credit lines are up and most take in avg of 70k in cash from there homes. and buy new suvs or trucks with that money. so that is why we have high prices. all that money is gone
You are looking at listing price NOT sell price. Dealer integrity varies greatly when it comes to posted listing price. As someone who is actively shopping NOW I find most dealers will not sell me the cars at the advertised price. Either I don't qualify for the rebates and/or there are multiple dealer/doc fees not included in the price. Your video is a complete waste of time, and my impression is you are lazy and just make content for income without caring about the quality of your reporting/content.
To me, it is astounding to see the prices of what are actually liabilities from the instant that they are purchased. Automobile and pickup truck prices are ABSURDLY high. There is very little to promote any idea that they are ASSETS.. Boxes on wheels that money is poured into, YES...😂
I have called over 15 dealerships in the Atlanta area looking for a ranger raptor and the lowest price is 5k OVER msrp! Guess I’m waiting for the 2025 models to come out!
