New Carbon Steering Wheel For My S65 AMG 

I like the new steering wheel, matches perfect with the interior. I just don't understand lowering the car it looked perfect the way it was.

I couldn't care less about wheel gap, but that new steering wheel is a very nice upgrade.

Mike, great video showing the custom mods you've made to your S65 AMG. Love seeing your excitement having an AMG back in the house! AMG is your gig...mine too but I have an SLK55 AMG that I've tuned and done some customization.

Keep a 2-3 ft pipe around. Best leverage tool, fits over your ratchet. The steering wheel looks great.

A little recommendation for the future is to use a breaker bar, which provides more leverage. Using a rachet makes it absolutely difficult. Just in case you do this again in the future.

That looks awesome. Some floor mats with the red piping from Lloydmats would set off the interior even more

Hey Mike, the car looks amazing… I think all the interior needs now is a wireless carplay adapter plugged in. And those wheels need a 1” spacer, they need just a slight poke. Other than that, your car is straight gangsta

Hey Mike little tip, invest in a 1/2 in drive breaker bar for getting those steering wheel bolts loose. It will make a huge difference!

I really didn't think the original steering wheeler was bad, but the new one sure makes a difference.....my aunt still has a 70s SL coupe, it's amazing how MB has still been able to keep that same heritage in their newer vehicles.

My favorite mod of all the mods so far on the s65 amg is the steering wheel it looks beautiful. Perfect fit for the s65

Cool modification ! I changed or rather my buddy changed the steering wheel on my 2018 F80 M3 Competition , carbon fibre and alcantara on the rim plus an LCD information screen that shows G Force , engine revs and a lot of other features plus of course the LED change up lights on the rim! This was a complex enough job not for the novice ! He did that 3 years ago very happy with it !

Coming together nicely Mike - a SOLID WHIP. an 18-inch "breaker bar" from Harbor Freight would help for the steering wheel I'm sure. Even with the difficulty of disconnecting the battery I don't think I'd risk it - just take the time. Having driven in the 'burg lots over the years in my F-150 I'd really want the extra travel in the suspension but to each his own. I'm not a huge AMG guy but have to admit that your ride is razor sharp!

Such a STUNNING looking car! I can't believe I'm saying this, but I follow A LOT of automotive RU-vid channels - pretty much all of the major ones that feature Super Cars or Hyper Cars, and yet this AMG S65 is somehow one of my top favorites. It's at least one of my favorites now, until you wrap it with whatever color you've decided to go with. I personally LOVE the silver paint with those gorgeous wheels. The new steering wheel looks great, it goes with the car really well! For future references, get a long, small diameter pipe, something you can slip over your ratchet wrench and use it as a breaker bar. Man, I'm not even kidding... I'm about to go on a hunt for an S65 so I can duplicate your setup because I'm totally in love with your car!

Its a really nice looking car, the rims are growing on me too, I know what I said they felt a bit like BMW/Volkswagen/Volvo, but I do think this car as coupé would be even nicer. Same thing happened to me with the bolt. Forget about the breaker bar. Apply some heat to the bolt to melt the factory locktite and it should be easy to turn. Nice looking car and steering wheel.

Beautiful steering wheel! Same one I had done for my E400 with napa leather designo ruby red seats and red set belts. Side perforated leather with red stitches. Only deference I had the steering wheel trim and paddle shifters also carbon fiber.

Normally I hate red interiors but I muat say that is the best looking red interior Ive ever seen. That whole S65 AMG Coupe is beautiful. I really love those rims as well. And yes, the upgraded steering wheel makes a huge difference to your ride and I also do not like the new AMG steering wheels.
