Ascension made everyone target the Liesa deck and just leave Andrew alone, who'd have won much earlier if he ever hit Crossroads, basically.

Nick gained 14 life before the Ascension should have been on, which means he would have been dead after the turn 6 beatdowns.

I could be wrong but it looks like you lose life to the Bloodchief Ascension when your Titania tokens die, Andrew. This was a misplay if I saw that correctly, Bloodchief Ascension only triggers off cards (either cards from the library or nontoken permanents) entering the graveyard, token permanents don't trigger it. Very convoluted wording, but that's how it is written.

To clarify, tokens are permanents, and they do enter the graveyard where they cease to exist, but they are not "cards" as defined by the rules.

I'm currently building a liesa deck and I'm so glad to have come to this video now. It looks like it played well, despite the misread. Nick did the best he could. It seems to struggle coming back from the toxic deluge tho. Are there any ways to make the deck more resilient?

it does say on each end step if one of Nick's opponents have lost at least 2 life put a quest counter

I havent watched the game yet, but im pretty sure titania is going to win. That's one of the most resilient commanders I've ever played against.

He couldn't use Greater Good too much until Bloodchief Ascension was gone, as each nontoken creature sacrificed + discard three = 8 life loss.

sadly cause of the missplay the ascension did trigger 6 more times, so 12 extra life for nick - not so much, but something, so you could have killed him the turn bevor the fumigate
