Agreed, I truly think they are doing too much and too many models period and it's starting to show bad, 20cv is pointless if not heat treated properly... And I'm guessing it won't be.

I’m happy about the 20CV it’s nice to see them get away from the surgical steel bullshit. But like you say it’s prolly not gonna be heat treated right so it’s not gonna matter. I’m hoping that the price of 160 is gonna be msrp and not Street price but I am expecting to be wrong. And as to him comment of he doesn’t know any other brand putting those materials at that price point that is still an American company doesn’t hold much weight when those companies are putting out products at a lower cost and higher quality than Case has achieved in decades. And this is has been a big thing with legacy American companies for years now, take buck for example

Case not what it use to be..its a shame.

A lot (most?) Cases won't cut paper, or will barely cut paper out of the box. But maybe they have been addressing some of the other quality issues such the gaps in the liners because the last few Cases that I have received have been good other than the sharpness.

@@sheltermonkey6065 isn’t the whole point of a knife to be able to cut? It looks pretty in the drawer it’s been sitting in since.

What all did they have wrong with them?

@@gjk1504 I had a Trapper that blades were rubbing together excessively. Then a small Texas toothpick that was hitting blade edge to back on close. Then had two that were rubbing the liner (both small swell jack) then one of their backpocket Buffalo in S35vn. It had sharp slivers of the handle sticking out and was dull as a butter knife from factory. Not what I wanted from a $140 Case knife.

Couldn't agree more, had two case frame locks in magnacut poked at the machine shop and both poked with a 3 poke avg of sub 61. Totally unacceptable. I've willing to be they will run "CPM 20" lol 20cv at a 59 target +-1. So your gonna get 58-60rc 20cv with most being in then high 58s to low 59s... 20cv under 61 Is just silly, 62-63 and the steel shines.. there's no reason we are getting these steels ran so soft by some companies. Paying a premium for high performance steels that are ran well below the hardness where the steel really shows its performance. I'm curious to know where they are targeting "cpm 20" but even if you get one that's at 60 its still to soft to really perform. We need these companies to start giving us steels that are ran at the upper end of the optimal RC range. Getting steels that have a optimal range from 58 to 63-64 and them doing them at 58-59 because it's "optimal" is really hurting the consumer as the steels don't preform no where near what they should when done like that. Prime example is that sub 61 magnacut on those two case frame locks.. I cut test them both and I'm getting about 10% more edge retention (my card board cut test and dirty rolled denim cut test that I do) out of it then what average run of the mill China 14c28n is getting... that's not cool! In sorry but when MC is ran at 60hrc its nothing more then a Powdered 14c28n in performance and at a high mark up because it's the current hype steel.

I like the look at these but am really surprised they stuff with the same pocket clip screws.... Especially since I think every Kinzua video I Saw people who even liked them complain about the pocket clip screws.... Kind of crazy that nobody from Case took notice of any of that
