@@tylermacconnell217 Every state is different. In NYm volunteers can have blue but nothing else. Here in NH vollies can have red and white forward facing with sirens, some have red/amber/blue in the rear.
You wouldn't happen to know the science behind why the fire-police in DL get only a siren horn but not the rest of the package and red to the rear and sides but not front?
A majority of volunteers across the country can only use blues, however in this case I believe they only have reds in the rear for improved visibility.
@@MisplacedChase Here in Ohio there is no such thing as Fire-Police. Vol. Firefighters and Medics can only run White and Red and can have sirens. No EMS or Fire can run any blue, only police.
Legality in the way the law is written. In most states in the northeast, you aren’t allowed a siren or red lights. Just blues. So they run an electronic air horn because it’s a horn and not a siren but it’s associated with emergency vehicle horns so it moves traffic easily. The red to the rear is actually illegal, they let it slide being as the law states that your vehicle can have flashing red to the rear to signify a hazard (aka hazard lights) which have to run single flash, simultaneously. But they don’t make them flash simultaneously. And nobody bothers them because they are fire fighters lol
