+Ginger Beer Well the Bambino (hairless short legged) actually waddles with the tail too. So a normal Bambino walks the same as the BamBob :) I think they are adorable. But I agree that it's sad that they don't have tails. Though most bob cat breeds seems to do good without their tail or with a short one.

Actually that is the MOST common reason people have allergies to cats. Some people with sphynx cats don't experience allergies at all. :)

@@Nathaliaaa666 actually no, April still sells the cats with fur or gives them away to people. They are still desirable cats because they have a lot of the same personally traits that you would get in a hairless cat. I purchased my Bambino cat from her, and she offered us a cat that did not acquire any of the desired genes. So we purchased him at the price it cost him to get fixed and he looks like a normal tabby, still lovable and very cute.

I 100% agree you should always look into adopting first. But for some people they may not find a pet that fits their lifestyle and they wouldn’t be able to take proper care of it. So to that I say adopt and shop RESPONSIBLY. We do not need to be supporting unethical breeders in the slightest.

Actually responsible breeders don't let their babies end up in shelters. Most sphynx breeders require you to give the kitten back if you don't want it or cannot care for it. If the cat does end up in the shelter the it is the breeders responsible to pick said cat up.

Wolfy Wlf my cat is a pixie bob. She can jump higher and has more balance than previous cats I’ve had with tails. Pixie bobs have been around for a very long time and all she did was breed it with a Sphynx. Cats that had their tail chopped off would have an issue with balance. These cats genetically do not need a tail to balance.

No, not necessarily. Bobcats do just fine in the wild, and they're very active climbers and hunters. Japanese Bobtail cats get along well too; the little nub tails have all the bones of a long tail, just short, so it doesn't impact their spines, and they're a healthy, active, curious breed. Those cats didn't look off balance, did they? Now, cats who had tails and then lose them due to injury will occasionally have periods where they have balance issues when jumping and such... but then they adapt. Cats have much more sensitive nerve endings and a more developed inner ear than humans. THAT'S how they balance. All the whiskers around their heads are super sensitive nerve endings that they use to measure spaces, communicate, examine things, and orient themselves. Their inner ears (the organs full of water deep within the ear canal that helps mammals sense when their balance is shifting) work very efficiently, telling them very precisely when they are oriented in a dangerous position. That's how they're able to land on their feet so well: no matter what angle their body is directed as they fall, their inner ear signals which way to turn to right themselves. Then they use their highly flexible spines, quick reflexes, and evolved musculature to spin themselves midair and get in position to land on their paws in a safe way to prevent injury. Similar to how we, as humans, use our arms, upright spines, and ball-socket hips to our advantage when we lose our balance. We instinctively throw our arms to our sides to shift our center of gravity, angle our backs to re-orient upright, and move our legs in a circular motion to regain our footing. So, long story short... Nope. Those cats are just fine with their little stub tails. Can't miss what you never had.
