I bought my Sublimage foundation in Canada when it came out end of October and love it. I’m in my 50’s, have mature normal to dry skin, always use sunscreen, and prefer a light to medium coverage. I appreciate your honest review and am glad you gave it a second chance it looks fantastic on you.
To be honest, it sounds perfect for someone like me. I can get a light natural coverage for everyday while getting skincare and won't need to use it for fuller makeup days/evenings. That is the best of both worlds. Than you for such an in-depth testing.
I’m 50 with skin as dry as a desert. I have never worn much foundation but find I want a little smoothing sometimes now. I think I will give this a whirl since I don’t use powder and tend to stick to cream everything anyway. Thank you for testing this!! I appreciate you going the extra mile to test products for women my age. ❤️
I wish they had more of an inclusive shade range - I couldn’t find my exact match, bc the shades are huge jumps. Also wish they sold that brush separately, it’s amazing
Thank you so much for reviewing this Erin! I have 3 Chanel foundations that I use constantly, but this one seems like an easy pass for me. I like a little more coverage and I definitely use powder products! ♥️ All that being said, it looks beautiful on you! 😍
Can I just say how shooketh I am that you do not have 1mil+ subscribers? Your reviews are so thorough and you take your time to show us everything from every angle. I just subscribed to you and I am looking forward to watching the rest. I purchased the illuminating blush from Chanel and clicked on your video and I was hooked. Very happy I found you.
Thank you for this video Erin, I have got this foundation but havnt used it yet ,great that I now know to use cream blush and bronzer as I usually use powdered products, saved me from making a big mistake as it's so annoying when foundation breaks up. Love your channel and all of the information and advice you share. Your skin looks so pretty ❤❤❤
As a Sublimage skincare line user I think the foundation is supposed to be in place of the day cream just after their extract and/or UV cream. It’s definitely covered your redness and a glowing foundation. XX 😘
Thanks for doing this review. I tried it at Chanel Beautè boutique but feels so sticky for me. But I’m going to give it a try and most likely this will be perfect during winter time. 💕
Thank you for the demonstration and information on this product. I wondered why I couldn’t buy it. I have learned so much from your videos. Thank you for sharing and educating me. Have a wonderful Christmas .
I have Combination skin, 35yrs old. I live in Singapore (hot and humid weather + mask on) and tried the sublimage foundation with Chanel loose powder and it feels great even after a long day. This is definitely light coverage with one pump and medium coverage with 2 pumps. The Chanel staff told me this is really a good foundation among all. Using their primer as base for longer lasting.
Hi Erin ! I live in Canada and I’ve received a sample for the Chanel counter. Usually, I love Chanel foundation but I don’t like this one . I have normal skin and the finish is not so great on me. I prefer the La Mer one . In my opinion, it’s better to spend money on very good skincare rather than have skincare in the foundation . Have a good day ! 🎄
So glad you liked it on day 2. I have dry skin and was looking forward to this because I like a light to medium dewy foundation especially on a day to day basis. Thanks for the thorough review and I thought it looked beautiful on you.
I live in 🇬🇧 and got mine 2 weeks ago. The scent is annoying but goes away but that being said, it looks good and still is great at the end of the day. I have normal skin though my nose sometimes gets oily or shinier, but a bit of powder and problem solved and that is me using a little over 1 pump.
Thanks for another great review. I agree, it looks better on day 2, and I think it looks better not built up. But I’m not sure I would like to not powder my foundation! Your face/forehead looks shiny in the video, so I wonder how it looked and felt by the end of that day?! Always love and look forward to your videos! 🤗💋
Glad to hear this foundation worked out for you. Speaking of Harrod's, recently they've launched their Harrod's Outlet ...but there's no online site for it not even through their main site. I've seen videos of designer bargains from the Harrod's Outlet. Missing out on good deals.
Great review! I agree with everything! I’m oily- but I can’t return as I purchased from Chanel website and they don’t accept returns that have been opened:(. I’ll use it and the brush is great- but definitely won’t repurchase!
Yipee....Did my homework and finally found a Chanel counter at Coconut Point at Dillards...so o o o I will be taking a trip down there to purchase a few Chanel products. I really can't wait to get to Ft. Myers so I can have a blast looking over their wonderful makeup. My problem is......I might over do it because makeup and skin care are my obsession. Thanks sweet Erin for the phenomenal tutorials! Wish you worked at that location!
Hi Erin, This foundation is very beautiful on you. I preferred the thin coat, but the finished makeup look is very pretty, too. The day 2 application was really beautiful. I think I will try this when it's time for me to go out again. I have dry skin and I love this type of coverage and finish, and I'm very impressed with the brush, too! Thanks so much for trying this for us. I love your pearl earrings. Take care, Ginny 😘😘😘
I'm 42 with very dry skin and lots of sun damage. My first thought is that I am more of the target audience for this product. I cannot wear layered makeup. As I age, it truly has become "less is more." With the serum foundations I have used in the past, I've found that no powder and targeted application of concealer works best. This is a great review to show that foundation is not a "one size fits all." Thank you for the honest and objective review. 💓
Thanks Erin for your usual honest review. After buying the Cle de Peau concelear and appreciating the difference, I was tempted by their foundation. Your review of the sublimage was really helpful. I loved their skincare line which I am running out (😢) but still uncertain between the two foundation. Will see if you did a review also of the Cle de Peau. Thanks so much 🥰
Thank you so much for this review!! I have been contemplating ordering from Harrod's but they aren't like Selfridge's where you pay the one time annual fee and the rest of the year your merchandise ships free. I do order frequently from Selfridge's but they do not carry Chanel. If you think it is coming to the US around Feb. I will just wait! This video was so helpful and I am glad you gave it a second try, b/c it looked flawless the second time!!
My english is very weak I want to tell you how your honesty is priceless I was supposed to buy this procduct but you guided me to do not In Canada the foundation is $210 with taxes add $30 to get a250$ foudation ....I thing I will still wearr a mask.. merci from Montreal Canada
Thanks for the heads up about Harrods. I just ordered it. The shipping was $30. But on the other hand they didn’t charge tax. I figured with the offset the shipping for me was about $20 since I didn’t have to pay State Tax on it. That isn’t to bad.
I am interested in this foundation as I do have maturing skin The Sublimage essence is over £300 just by itself. So, the foundation with brush is a great price. Thanks for the review and the heads.up about the powdering 💯👌👍
I am late for my post. I do have this foundation. Like it. Don't love it. Prefer the cream version any time!!! Will try using cream blush and highlighter. Thanks for the tip. XO.
I ordered this foundation but I got the shade b40 :/ b30 was sold out which is my perfect shade In chanel. I am going to have to self tan before I can try but I’m so glad you did all the testing so I can know how to wear it 🥰 please tell me the lip you are wearing on day 2! It’s gorgeous as you are always! Thanks, Erin!
I went to the Harrod’s website on Saturday to order the Sublimage but they only had three shades left - none of which were mine. 😫 Hopefully they restock soon.
Hi Erin, how does this compare to the Cle du Peau foundation? Which do you prefer? Apologies if you’ve gone over this in other videos. Thank you and Happy New Year!
Wondering if they will ever make the foundation available without the brush. I would assume the brush would last past one bottle of the foundation. Love Chanel foundation. I do find Chanel not to be long wearing however.
Hey Erin, i just went through the original sublimage le teint and it works perfectly for me but how would you compare the two ? Im trying to decide if i should restock on the original
This is already available in Canada :) I tested it out a couple of weeks ago, and while I do like it, I'm not sure it's worth the high price. I mean, I'm older, I have dry skin and I live in a cold climate, so it would probably work really well for me. And I have the original Sublimage cream foundation, which I love. But oh man, that price; I'll have to think about it a bit more ;) The brush is really nice, though, and I do think it looks good on you, Erin. XO, Cathy
I have been very intrigued by this foundation! 😍 However I do have oily/ combo skin so I think I'll try to first get a sample and definitely would wait for a sale to get this 😂 it's $210 CAD 😭 but i would only buy it if the virus cleared up or else it would expire in my collection :(
Glad I did not buy this looking at what u thought 💭 first , what is your # 1 go to foundation ??L2 or L3 ?? Concealer PML on second round which color did u use looks great
Hello Erin, have you tried the Dior Prestige le micro fluide teint de rose foundation? If so, can you please give a review about it? Thank you, lot of kisses.
Did your skin get a reaction from the fragrance? Mine is so sensitive on makeup fragrance. And I found Chanel's foundation very fragrant. So, I'm kinda sceptical into trying it out.
Will you please do La Prairie " serum foundation for us. I’ve used it in the past but it’s supposed to be better. Thanks so much. Merry Christmas. 🎄🎁💄💋
We already have it in Canada and it retails for 210$ CAD, that is about 165$ USD. I am always having issues when companies justify a hefty price tag with the added skincare benefit. The molecules are bigger so pigment don't get into the skin, so it is a nonsense claim to me. Anyhow, Chanel always have beautiful products!
I appreciate your honest opinion and I’m glad you tried it again. I unfortunately have oily skin so I don’t think this will work on my skin. Ig: @chicagolaw_luxurymakeup
Erin, there's no way I'd pay that price for the foundation as you've stated, yes you get a bit more product but it's soooo sheer at that price point or for everyday use you'd be better off with a tinted moisturizer etc. As for the skincare in it, I'd much prefer to have my skincare and SPF regimen in place and makeup to melt into it skin-like on top. Not for this little duck! xoxox
