Some say learning new languages, especially at a young age, has positive effects on brain development and cognition. Will this be yet another way in which AI weakens our mental capacity?

As for me personally, so far it is making me stronger. Alex, let's keep in touch! Maybe we can make something interesting together))) Join my Discord (discord.gg/hVx5GHR7) or give me yours. See you!

I don't fall to him for thinking outside the box. But he did get a lot of information wrong and he's also acting like Google translator is not an app that we currently have access to. I think it's important to know Not only is this feature not currently available to Americans. It's also only available to people willing to pay $20 a month. And even though $20 is not that crazy of an amount to pay the translation feature has been available on Google for a long time I've personally had it on my phone for months. And yes it is designed where 2 people talk in real-time and it translates.

Yeah from a Christians point of view I have thought the same. When man is allowed to communicate without isolation, man's evil intentions are allowed to thrive. Last time, God stepped in, splitting humanity into different languages. The cup of iniquity became full and God's wrath fell. Will it happen again? Well see. But revelation 13 sure seems to indicate AI is allowed to control man. " He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. . " So something in inanimate is given life or the appearance of life, with the ability to speak, and that same image is able to force people to do things. Sure sounds like AI to me. If so, we could he very close to the end where God's wrath falls on humanity once more. Anyways. Loved the video

There will still be the problem of people working in bad faith, using the translation layer to deceive and mislead. It's not the end of the Tower of Babel situation, but it does significantly reduce the barrier. There will also be the problem of people who don't know how to ask clear questions. The Trump-Putin press conference problem can happen again. A sloppy double question might come through as a complex single question, and an infelicitous answer might still come back.

I found your research very insightful and your opinion very valuable, which is why I really hope my comment will be responded to by you. One of the aspects I didn't understand at all. I always came to the opposite opinion and even listening to your reasoning I logically expected just such a conclusion, but I heard the opposite, which goes against your own logic of narration, namely (please clarify, maybe I misunderstood). You say that such a universal language will kill the diversity of cultures and languages, but doesn't the fact that we will have such an advanced tool for communication while eliminating the need to learn a foreign language, will not allow us to preserve many cultures and languages that are not considered international? My thought with the development of digital text, then voice, and now “neural” translators has always been “how great it is that the dominance and expansion of an international language (now English), and the resulting need to switch to it if you want to move to a better country, to get a better job - is increasingly fading into oblivion thanks to technology. now a resident of a third world country, speaking an endangered dialect will no longer be cut off from information and will be able to pass on his knowledge and experience to the next generation, because -of this technology. (I've been thinking about this for a long time and a lot), and despite my extremely skeptical attitude to the vast majority of things in this world, and I am naturally able to think globally, have a habit of assessing potential, etc. - and most things cause me ambiguous thoughts, but in this particular case, I have always seen an absolutely consistent good (exactly in the context of preserving culture and languages). And thank you so much for such accurate, concise, concise, and incredibly valuable content!

@alexandrostopalidis9007 Thank you, Alexandro. If the RU-vidr thinks 50% of all conflicts are due to miscommunication then the RU-vidr has ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE about geopolitics. As an example, the demonisation of Russia was because Russia stands in the way of a US led unipolar world order. As a result Russia needs to be undermined and ultimately split up into lesser weaker states that can be incorporated as vassal states. This is the reason nato encroaches on Russian border, this is the reason for Ukraine war. To say modern conflict erupts because of miscommunication is laughable and immature, anyhow

Many global problems are a direct result of language incompatibilities - it's as if we all were using different parts in all our engines, houses, everything - unable to buy the critical parts you needed if you traveled across an imaginary line. @@Scripter_story I love this channel, truly. You need 8 billion subscribers. I had a friend who worked at the Belgian HQ of NATO in Brussels. He was a telephone operator and spoke at least 6 different languages; he once had me call the State Department in Washington DC (!) and ask for 'NATO HQ'. Shaking in my boots I did this and was put through promptly as if I was important, or something.. he was working night shift and let me listen in on 'some' calls; he could tell by the first words what language to use back to the caller (and said many were just someone a floor above him, military personnel, wanting a taxi or 'a girl'. He didn't put those calls on but laughed about them). I was amazed at how quickly he could switch languages; I'm in the US and even after 10 years of French, I'm barely able to understand Quebec radio stations when I can get them. Just think how many translators were just put out of business; how many call center operators... Andrew Yang was right.

So, cultures will stay the same, but "misunderstandings" perhaps will ease more, and we will be friendlier to each other?
