This video is a demo on how to install the new shocks I bought. Just for a handful of dollars you can snag these metal oil filled shocks to upgrade this cool 1/16 road ripper that's under $100. I ordered these shocks from Aliexpress and they came in 10 days to here in Canada. These shocks are made for the Wltoys 1/14 buggy (144001) and they fit perfectly on the 16101. I order 2 pairs of rear shocks, there are differently colors and sizes so grab what you like. This will make the RC more stable and predictable in all places, especially jumping and over bumpy terrain. I will do a running video soon when the weather is better as we are running out the end of winter here in 2024. Take the original shocks and toss them in the garbage where they belong! Thanks for watching and see you on the next one soon.
Also its easy to lower this truck by installing silicone sleaves inside the shocks..yes you will lesson the travel, but it will still be able to jump and land fine as long as you don't lower it to much, plus it will better on flats...
It looks like the same chassis as the JJRC Q130. I know they’re full metal upgrades for it if anything’s does break, so upgrades are definitely there if needed.
Thanks Cody! Good info... I will have to check it out. I just googled the JJRC Q130 and it shows a lot of the short course truck looking model. I stayed away from that one but if the parts work, that's awesome. Have a good one!
@@mikesrccorner I got lucky and found one at an Amazon bin store for $7.50 on Friday , so I couldn’t pass it up😂 but the chassis looks to be the same as the one you have.
I actually ordered matching orange aluminum shocks when i orderd mine..shocks look great..but had no oil and even with 30 wt oil they are no better then stock..bouncy..so i ordered wltoys shocks from ali...my wl buggy shocks are great,so i am hoping for same results on ths scy truggy...mine even came with metal knuckles..its perfect on 2s and stupid nutty on 3s...will just use 2s on mine..😊
Yeah the stock shocks are not great to say the least. I list budget friendly metal shocks in the video description and they come oil filled and work great. I have a video on it too. WL toys shocks will work for sure. 2S is great and everyone is bugging me to do a video on 3s. I will do it but I need to get to a big parking lot that's wide open. Coming soon I have a few days off soon I can get to it.
Hey there. I think 2 more changes and you'd be really good. One is a 2s lipo... it will have more punch. Other would be is putting better wheels on this truck. I have a playlist on this car... check it out the videos will have a link to a battery that works really well. ru-vid.com/group/PLnOO_l3pZWsIRiDmlz2yjz2iId72tusqU I'm still looking into some nice budget friendly 1/10 buggy wheels that would work better than what came with this rig. Thanks for comment. Thanks for watching and I'm glad to help!
Nice. I just installed a set on my ZLL SG116, which looks like the same truck. I notice my truck has a lot of toe out, and the steering link is not adjustable. Worth changing to an adjustable one?
Hey Tim. TBH I haven't heard anyone complaining the truck is not staying straight. People are dropping in new ESC and receiver and doing 3s over 80km. But what you are suggesting, I don't see why you can't and tinker with it and make it better. Worst case you go back to the original. I made a playlist on this truck and there are lots of comments in the video so scan them to see what people are telling me. Cheers Tim!
@@timothym2241 The perfect wheels for it IMO would be 1/10 rear buggy wheels. Or the set on the 1/14 Mini Losi 8ight T. Or the 1/14 Reflex truggy. Here's a link i found on ebay www.ebay.com/itm/166666280363?itmmeta=01HTQC6YEC6RJMTJDMY1X8S9K2&hash=item26ce159dab:g:ayYAAOSwYCFl~zXy
