Can you start at the pedal Bb and slur up though all the partials (up to the super F) and like have all 3 of the trombones play them at the same time so we can hear minute differences in tone in the higher partials? Also is it large or small bore

I'd be curious about how delicate you can be in the upper register. So maybe playing the Trombone solo from Bolero to get a more delicate controlled style. And then also playing something with a lot of lead trombone jazz punch to get a more aggressive style. The first thing that came to mind for that is some of the parts from your Jesus Christ Superstar Medley. I know there are several parts in there where you really stick some high notes.

I have my original KING "Silver Flair" trumpet with sterling silver bell, it was one of the very first built in Cleveland; not Westlake Ohio. I have been playing this King horn for 53 years and hope you can build a "Better 2B 'Bone"

King 2B is a GREAT horn. If you surpass that you're definitely in "tall cotton", as we used to say back home. (A 3B/4B is no slouch either! -- wish the 42F afficiandos could understand ;-) )

One is completely made out of sterling silver, the other yellow brass (70% copper, 30% zinc) - just a different feel and sound!

Hey Bill! Just listened to your Old Town Road video and i really dig how you sound on the B.A.C.! It really does sound like your 2b, but a little better. In this video at least, your sound sounds a lot more clean. Not as edgy as the 2b. Not sure if that is due to all the silver on the trombone, the sterling and nickel. I’m very curious to hear that yellow bell. Have you thought about getting a screw bell? Yellow stem with a sterling bell flare?? I’d like to see you do an “edge” test with the B.A.C. and the 2b. How far you can push the sound before it wants to collapse on itself!

I'd love to hear some standard rep but I also think you should play some stuff that is in no way meant for trombone, basically try and break the horn. Maybe some drum corps or British brass band stuff or rep from another instrument like trumpet or euphonium!

I'll talk about all that when the horn is finished. You'll be able to try it out anywhere BAC is showing, so the international trombone festival, Midwest Clinic, TMEA, American Trombone Workshop, or anything else they end up at! That said, it will be expensive (they're hand made one at a time) and it will be very small and not right for most people. This is a specialized instrument and I wouldn't recommend that everyone buy it, but it will be perfect for a select few like me!

It's a really small horn, made for lead in a latin jazz band or pop/funk stuff. We'd never play that kind of rep on it (for one, it doesn't have an f-attachment so there are notes like low Eb and D that can't truly be played.) That said, there's other "classical" rep that absolutely would be played on this horn like the Arthur Pryor show pieces, so I'll make sure to include something along those lines!

Have you tried doing a blind play test? Maybe play one song with each trombone without any video and make a poll to see which we prefer? Or see if we can hear the difference without being influenced by what we see or are told beforehand.
