War domain. 01. Guided strike - works with you and others when you get it. No wait for higher level. 02. Domain spells have changed. 03. Can make an unarmed strike with the BA atrack now. 04. Regain war preist abilities on short rest. 05. Can now burn channel divinity to cast shield of faith or spiritual weapon with no concentration required. 06. Steel wind strike now on the spell list. 07. Avatar of battle now gives you resistance to B, P, and Slashing.

War domain was already very solid, my players typically loved playing them. I'm glad to see most of its classic features made it to the 2024 book.

I wish War Clerics get extra attack at 5th level like all the other martial classes do. It makes sense for them to get it so they don’t have to only use the War Priest feature.

Me too, but realistically they would be too strong being full casters as well. But it does make multi-classing really tempting.

@@Fourfingers47 I didn’t see the fact that now you get your warpriest uses back after a short rest. That makes it almost like you get the extra attack feature.

@@Fourfingers47 I mean bards, warlocks, and wizards all have a way of gaining extra attack. I think the war cleric could be balanced even with access to extra attack.

@@TemporalElpis I will like it if it's unpaired from the Attack Action, being able to cast a leveled spell then bonus action attack seems to be the most true gish available.

That was a lot of verbal gymnastics at the start to not say the word support. That’s very interesting. Makes me wonder about the community interactions (positive or negative) with that word. Verbiage gets workshopped a lot.

Can anyone confirm if Bonus Action Attack is the same from UA6 other than the Weapon Mastery being gone? Or does it require an Attack Action?

We dont know. People think it means weapon mastery is gone.

"Freeing up a feature slot" is nonsense, it's so common to get two and sometimes even three subclass features at the same time

Well with this subclass, by moving the old 6th-level feature to 3rd-level, it now doesn’t get anything at 6th-level, so the space is now free to add a new feature is what he’s saying.

All I wanna know is can you upcast spiritual weapon and use a channel divinity to not concentrate. That would make it worth using

Spiritual Weapon was made a concentration spell in UA, though it deals more damage when cast at higher levels now. This feature, I’m assuming, lets the cleric cast the spell using Channel Divinity instead of a spell slot, and doing so removes concentration from the spell. Also typically when features let you cast spells, the spell is at its usual level unless written otherwise.

You know why I'm not excited about the rule changes? Simple previously when the rule changes happened even if they were bad, they progressed the narrative story of the world. The Sundering, The Spellplague, these were all events that happened in universe that fundamentally changed how mechanics in game worked and as a player you could roleplay with that and enjoy this seemingly living breathing ever changing world but correct me if I'm wrong but theirs nothing like that this with ONE DND update and I blame the sword coast it's as if they've neutered the setting to streamline the marketing 😊
