I am currently taking care of a person who is in a third cycle of the protocol. Two previous interventions ( 4 an 2 years ago) were very successful ( full recovery of memory and cognitive skills) . I am very excited to be part of the process. hopefully will witness the results of the third intervention.

What we need is a Heather Sandison and Marama in every town! With an PSA/education & outreach campaign alongside it. (And an enlightened philanthropist or two to fund scale-up?) With the average lifetime cost of dementia care in the U.S. estimated at $400,000 per person, from a purely economical perspective (and the fact that, with the Marama/Solcere models, the residency may only need to be (or is only) TEMPORARY-- because folks can "graduate" and go back to living fulfilling lives), this is a no-brainer. To say nothing of the suffering and stress on the families, the individual, & other caregivers involved that could be avoided. How do we make this happen? I know Dr. B et cie are doing their best, but we need to move mountains, people!

Widespread practitioners and local support and education from real scientists and physicians is critical! Thank you Dr Bredesen and associates.!! I notice there is a huge surge in social media “experts” getting on the bandwagon so to speak, and doing presentations that don’t give much real scientific information. At the end they try to monetize the protocol with subscriptions and supplements. I enjoy using Dr Bredesens books.

Thank you very much for this very inspirational and supportive conversation about everyone’s health potential related to cognitive function. You all mention physiology and yet there was no mention of breathing and the physiological support if one understands how their breath truly impacts their physiology and health. Not about a deep breath, and not about sleep disorders. Bigger. If anyone on this panel wants to have a conversation about the physiological basis of breathing and the things you mention - especially digestion of fats and other nutritional parameters, I am happy to discuss. I also appreciate the traditional science of Ayurveda and Dr. Rao’s added insights. Thanks again and onward and upward for cognitive function and well-being❤️

This is all great to hear online. I’ve been noticing problems from severe head trauma as well as multiple tick infestation. I can control it goes in my mouth and I’m doing pretty well with that just for your information I tried. I am in clinics I had to pay them $500 upfront nonrefundable And the rest of the protocol was so outrageously expensive there’s no way I could afford it so I lost $500 but in the meantime I was hearing about methylene blue online and I said what the heck and I am feeling better I take it twice a day. Thank you for listening and I appreciate all that you were doing but again it would be nice if I could afford a doctor. It wasn’t totally out of line with costs.

Consider starting slowly if you are feeling overwhelmed. Pick a supplement or two and start there. It's also a good way to see how you feel on one or two, rather than taking many and not knowing which one helped. I like to start people on DHA (Omega 3) at the beginning. I recommend Carlsons products. Best wishes.

I am convinced that at least 80% of the problem is a lack of ketones available to the brain. I believe our big brains REQUIRE ketones from before birth. But we spend our lives blocking ketone production with our crappy diet of processed food and drink full of sugar and junk starches. Ketones are one of the few things that pass through the blood brain barrier. What does that tell you? Humans and dolphins (big brain) are the only animals that readily produce ketones as far as I know. Your liver will make ketones in a completely fed state without coconut oil or MCT. Just stop eating glucose rich foods, you know, carbs. I have been ketogenic 25 years. I am APoE4. I am counting on my ketones to avoid AD. So far so good. I am 65 still working developing software for the space station. Recommending a plant based diet here is irresponsible.

@robinmarshall4858

I spoke to a Brednesen protocol physician just casually. Told them that I had been in a fairly serious car accident with a subdural hematoma and was having memory issues. I asked what would be the best thing and they told me hyperbaric oxygen therapy. I found a chiropractor's office that had several HBOT chambers. Practices that have HBOT chambers should know what is required. I believe mine was 2 atmospheres for an hour including getting down to that atmosphere and back up. I believe I did 22 sessions over the course of several months. Estimated cost was about $2,000. I felt it was likely worth it since I have one APOE4 gene and a family history on my dad's side. And yes I did see an improvement in my memory

@kob8634
@kob8634 Год назад
So, I'm skipping around looking for a protocol that was used (particularly supplements) and I just can't find it -- so naturally I went and read the published study and I get it -- there's no protocol, it's just *really really good care* that's causing the improvements. I wonder if this study were repeated but with a control group that is taken on a bus tour for a month, twice during the year, another which is completely a control, and then this study group. My sense of it is the bus tour group will have about the same results as the treatment group and both will be well above the other control group. I think these improvements have more to do with routine in their lives, specific things to think about, and the sense that they can help themselves by eating well and getting quality sleep. Great study tho, really fine work (too bad the covid vaccines weren't given a similar investigation).
@lindajones4849
@lindajones4849 Год назад
Sorry, can't buy the theory . For instance improving diet can reverse diabetes ( type 2) and this is not a placebo effect- decreasing concentrated sweets improves blood sugar control. A bus ride doesn't do this. Bredesen protocol is basically correcting all of a patients medical problems. What is good for the body is good for the brain. HTN , diabetes, heart disease, poor nutritionaffect the brain , the brain is living tissue.

But 5 yrs prior, she used Garmin (before watch pad was invented) to get an overnight oxygen saturation level. Now that watch pad is available (and she sees a low O2 sat) she now refers the patient to get an overnight watch pad test & that should be covered by Medicare.

The female doctor mentioned having a GI map test done to look for gut dysbiosis, whether or not you are digesting your food, parasites, etc. She also basically mentioned getting a micro nutrient status to see what you are low in and what needs to be supplemented, because we are all different. I think it might be wise to test for heavy metals since they can affect brain health. Testing your hormones and making sure those are all within normal limits. That is something that your regular physician could do. After that, testing would depend on your symptoms and your exposure throughout your lifetime. I have worked with functional medicine doctors due to my autoimmune issues and have had some of that testing done. I have one APOE4 gene and would next like to be tested for heavy metals. I have a nutritionist in my area that can do the test and recommend a protocol for removing and binding toxins.
